They said I won the lottery because someone anonymously paid for my senior year at a prestigious academy. The same academy where I met the most ruthless man I’d ever come across. Finn Clemonte. Rich, arrogant, and the king of New Hope Academy of Excellence. He’s a dangerous drug and I’m mad at myself for getting a taste of him. Because now I want more. I want more of his devilish green eyes to destroy the remaining sanity in me. But there’s a reason why him and I can never be together. Our families have known each other for decades. They’ve also hated each other for decades. Just the way we did in the beginning. But our hatred turned into lust, and then into love. Our families will never be on board. The pride on both sides is just that high. Is it even possible to erase generations of feud between them? Maybe… Maybe not. But like they say, all is fair in love and war. And if we don’t get a shot at love, then the war will soon consume both sides.
I have never written a review, but there is always a first time. I truly do not know what to say. I do not have words. This was absolutely horrible.
The characters were poorly developed, and their feelings seemed to appear from literally nowhere. I understand how enemies-to-lovers work, but there was no transition here. It went from hate to love in two chapters with no explanation whatsoever. What is more, the writing was basic and had no emotion. You cannot start a chapter saying "I wasn't looking forward to Tuesday, but it had to come, as yesterday was Monday and Tuesdays always came after Mondays", what is this? Are you serious? That is what I call BS. I have read really bad books, but I have never read a sentence as stupid as that one. And we should not talk about the nickname he gives her. Who the hell calls someone "kitten"? I know he only called her that during smut scenes, but I still believe it's pretty cringe.
Regarding the mystery, it was a super simple mystery to create that background and vibes of Romeo and Juliet, but they were not even able to fix that? To find the truth? I do not want to do any spoilers, but the fact that they lied to make the mystery "disappear" left me speechless.
I truly wanted to enjoy the book, but it only kept getting worse. I don't even know how I managed to finish it without throwing myself out the window.
The book was kind of lame to me. Just an average love story with college kids acting very childish. Would have liked to know about the feud. What was the use in bringing in the feud if wasn't elaborated more on?
I do recommend this book, it was just a hard read with some difficult to accept points. Overall though, read it. Lots of twists, confusion, miscommunications, deception, mystery and bullying.
Finn Clemonte is a ruthless, arrogant, Alpha of the top predators at a prestigious New Hope Academy of Excellence. In short, a bully and ass. He cannot tolerate a charity student at "their school". So his troupe of bullies plan their attack. Except when he sees her something changes in him. That's where the difficulties come in.
Julianna Irvine won a lottery of her dreams. All her debts paid AND an anonymously all paid Senior year to a New Hope? However those dreams turn to turmoil when the reigning bullies (the Heathers of the school) turn on her. Her timid roommate tries to help, but is also glad to not be on their radar...sort of.
My major issue is the way the college doesn't curb the terrorizing of this group. The bullying, physical assault, no consequences for a lot of things out of fear of the wealthy families. I understand 1% mentality, and it does add to the story. Especially with the twists of the plot. Just a reminder (for the real world), non of what they do in this book should be allowed in any school, on any level.
That said, again, still recommend the book. Seriously, if it can irritate you as much as it does me, it's a well written book.
I got gripped right from the start with the mysterious benefactor and trying to figure out why Julianna was picked. Seeing her perspective drew me in more because you could already feel her character starting to build. On the other hand, I instantly disliked Finn. He's arrogant, spoiled and a bully who enjoys causing others discomfort.
This is an enemies to lovers romance and has some shining moments. I liked the way the characters developed and eventually how they interacted, I envisioned Julianna as having a bit more spunk. The way she wasn't afraid to ask her questions in the beginning, led me to believe she'd stand her ground. So if I could change one thing, it would be to give her that bigger presence. Whereas the more I got to know Finn, the more I began to like him.
I think having this story written from a dual perspective helped me gain a better understanding of the characters and what motivates them.

This is a story where the main characters are polar opposites and Finn who is the alpha of his group of friends are all bullies and Juliana is the new student in her senior year of college granted a full ride at their prestigious university is bullied by the group from the 1st day. The rich kids enjoy messing with the students and this year it’s Juliana. Finn seems to realize Juliana means more to him and gives orders not to mess with her but of course two jealous girls go to far on their own. The things they do to her are a bit too much and when Finn finds out he does what is necessary to protect her from their actions. Their is a mystery that Finn and Juliana work on together and as they do they become more than part time partners. Discovering secrets from long ago can help bring them peace and a chance to be together. I wish Juliana was able to stand up against what happened to her and the actions taken against her where a bit too much. Julianna receives an offer she can't refuse and attends a prestige private college for her senior year. Unfortunately she is greet by the bullies of that circle with Finn being the leader. For reasons she cannot understand, she is targeted, but yet she feels an attraction to Finn. Finn can't deny that Julianna is beautiful but has a rep to maintain, no matter how much he thinks about her. However, they find common ground, and work together to uncover the mystery of the feud between their families. During this time, their attraction implodes sizzling hot and steamy yet they must keep this private or face the wrath of the inner circle. Finn and Julianna will need to figure out whether this relationship is worth the risk, and how they will fight the issues of the past.
I thought this romance was entertaining. I truly liked Julianna but was on the fence about Finn until I could see that he was willing to do it all for love.

This was a bully to lovers romance story told in dual POV that had potential. It revolves around Julianna who was accepted into a prestigious academy with the assistance of a mysterious beneficiary and Finn, a rich and ruthless man who was part of an inner circle who tormented students who they felt were inferior the them. I wish Julianna fought for herself more. It felt as if she gave into the bullying and Finn too easily. I like reading about strong heroines who will not bend so easily to the hero especially one who is a bully. Let the hero prove himself. I also felt that Finn did a 180 way too quickly in regards to his feelings for Julianna. There was a sweet HEA ending. Ava Grey has written a captivating story about Finn and Julianna. Finn is a bully and leader of his group of wealthy and privileged group of friends. They rule the elite college they attend. Julianna receives a full ride to an elite college her senior year. The attraction between the two is steamy. As they work together they discover secrets. Can they bring peace? Will Julianna be able to forgive? Will they ever have a chance at being together? Enjoyed this story a lot. The storyline kept me entertained and glued page after page.

Senior year of college, Julianna was given full tuition to a prestigious college by a mysterious benefactor. Being the new girl the elite group started putting her in her place by harassing and demeaning her. Finn was the alpha of the inner circle group. But Finn couldn’t stay away from her. When a mysterious link is revealed between Julianna and Finn’s ancestors, they join forces and hearts.

I don't like giving low stars unless the book is really a mess. So I am giving Ruthless Love 4 stars because I think it had a lot of potential. I just wasn't extremely into it. Some of it seemed like high school actions, not seniors in college. And Juliana sure didn't fight too hard against the evil witches that were after her. With that being said, I will say I did like the ending and it had a nice epilogue to give you a peek into their HEA.
I really struggled to finish this book. The writing was very oddly stilted and the premise for the feud (reason for the bullying) ridiculous as it took place in the 1800’s and nothing happened to maintain the feud since.
The characters were written very juvenile (do college students still buy stuffed animals?) but were supposed to be college seniors.
Then the feud was wrapped up in a tidy nonsensical bow to get to the hea.
I am not a fan of Bullies to Lovers stories. I am happy that Finn grew up and became a man and stopped acting like a high school bully. Therefore I liked the last half of the book. I love Ava Gray's Paranormal books, so this was just not my thing.

Finn and Julianna’s storyline is about enemies to lovers, cruelty, bullying, and peer pressure. A good read that has you has you rooting for the bad boy to change for the love of a good woman. A little dark but so worth the reading.

Family feud with a little love story, I think the story is cute but it can use a little bit more improvement. Or direction in the story yes what’s a little bit improvements.
All’s fair in love and war and this one will take the whole family down! Such a great read that’s exciting and with anticipation to see what will happen with their love story!

The book was more for teenagers. The things these college kids were doing was done in high school. My suggestion is for this story, act like seniors in college and not as kids in high school. There was no suspense towards the end.
Wow what a lovely book , great storyline and characters, sexy bad boy who takes everything he wants no matter who says no , but then she arrives and charges everything
This is another great read it’s well written and developed and flows smoothly throughout the pages. The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages.
