An ancient cache of knowledge... With a modern day strike team after it
Delaney McPhearson is back in the second edge of your seat novel in the best-selling Belial Series.
Over decades, evidence of an incredible treasure, hidden in the forests of Ecuador, had been gathered by a Roman Catholic priest. The rumors of the treasure date back to the Conquistadors and tales of storehouses filled with Incan gold. But Professor Delaney McPhearson believes the treasure is older than the Incans.
Much older.
Rumor has it that as Atlantis was coming to an end, three libraries of knowledge and artifacts were hidden across the globe. Laney believes one of those hiding spots is the extensive tunnel system underneath Ecuador.
Her research trip to determine the origins of the treasure quickly turns into a brutal race for survival. For another group is also looking for the collection. And they will eliminate anyone and anything in their way.
Jake Rogan, former Navy SEAL and director of security for the Chandler Group, is a continent away when he learns of the danger Laney faces. But he will move heaven and earth to get to her in time.
In the middle of the search is Henry Chandler, CEO of the Chandler Group. Henry has spent a lifetime knowing he is different. He's always wanted to know why. The Ecuadorian library may hold the answers.
Violence surrounds Laney, Jake, and Henry from the jungles of Ecuador and across the United States. The last time they became embroiled with an Atlantis site, they were saving the world. This time, the stakes are no less deadly but a lot more personal.
Months ago, these three friends faced a supernatural threat and survived. They thought the experience was behind them. Little did they know, it was only just beginning...

WOW Another great book to the series. I told my sister and my neighbor about the series and they are both reading it. The author is really great. Am on the third book.
The Belial Stone was a reasonably good book although I did not exactly find it fantastic. This book, The Belial Library, is the successor to The Belial Stone. I found this book quite enjoyable and an improvement over the first book.
The story kind of continues from the first book. I write “kind of” because the Belial stones found in the previous book are not part of this book but it stills ties in with the events in the first book. The main characters are all back and although, at first, Laney seems to have departed on an entirely new archeological adventure we are back to “the fallen” soon enough.
Although a lot of the book centers around Laney and her friend Jen, who also have a secret which are about to be revealed, Henry Chandler plays a central role in this story and his remarkable performance in the first book is about to be explained. I am happy that the author managed to put a bit of a twist to that explanation instead of just going for the obvious one.
The book is quite full of action as well as discoveries and plot twists and, as I wrote, I found it a quite enjoyable read. As with the previous books the background story, the archeological, religious and historical plot elements are quite interesting without going overboard on the religious parts.
The book have a proper conclusion meaning that it does not end in a frustrating cliff-hanger. Having said that it does contain an epilogue with a clear intention of getting the reader interested in buying the next book in the series. Personally I have to say that it succeeded.
After reading RD Brady's first novel The Belial Stone, I could not wait to read her newest Professor Delaney McPhearson adventure THE BELIAL LIBRARY. Especially when I saw the treasure she was going to be searching for was possibly older than the Incans. Very fun!
Laney teams up with all the characters from her last quest and stands up against some new and brutal villains who will stop at nothing to get what they want. And this time, Henry Chandler a very close friend of Laney is at the heart of it all. Delving deeper into his mysterious character was a huge part of this novel and I promise it didn't disappoint!
Another easy read filled with mystery, murder, and a bit of well placed archeological and biblical history. I'm looking forward to the third novel in the series The Belial Ring coming this summer.
Much like the Belial Stone, this book was a fast - paced page turner. Being the second book in the series I felt like the author improved her writing a great deal, and did not spend as much time describing each and every particular punch during the fight scenes which I found to be most welcomed. Her earlier book really bogged down with the play by play description of every punch and kick. I still love how she mixes in fact, fiction, myths and the like for a read that constantly makes me research outside sources to fully understand what I'm reading and to see what's true and what comes from her fantastic imagination. Keep up the good work and I'm off to download the third book in the series.
One of the very best writers in the world! It's time well spent. Great read!!
R. D. Brady is immensely knowledgeable while hosting incredible foresight. Oh, to have just a tenth of her academic aptitude I would be worthy of this lowly human vessel. The Belial Library is fantastically well written. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. Aside from reading the Bible. It 's only recently I have become seriously interested and/or in tune to angels, nephilim, the Fallen and the Enochian script and prayer. I will endeavor to pursue this vast genre in hopes it's not too late for me to grasp this knowledge. The vastness is every where -- it's up to an individual to choose to be receptive. R.D. Brady has done it again. First, I have to suggest reading Brady's bio. She's a badass, period. And she's compared with heavy hitting male adventure authors. That said, The Belial series delivers. Massively. Fantastic characters, well developed and cheer-worthy. Science, spirituality, and non-stop action. Plenty of dialogue and insights to who the characters are. Twists and turns that I don't see coming, yet make sense, not just thrown into the mix like an afterthought.
An excellent sequel to The Belial Stone. I am really enjoying this series. If I have a complaint about the writing it is that the “good” people are perfect and the “bad” people are unfailingly evil. No shades of grey as would be the case in real life! Nevertheless, great fun and an excellent read.
THE BELIAL LIBRARY is another non-stop action adventure with ancient hidden treasure, mysterious villains and a tiny touch of romance. The good guys are really good and the bad guys are horrid. There is danger aplenty and heroic acts to match. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more thinking and less violence (I hope) in the next volume.
The second book tightened up the plot a lot and gave nice insights into what's good and what's evil. Evil runs amok but not for a few good people to fight against it. Also toss in some world-class adventures and treasure hunting, and you have a great book enjoy the ride.
Once again I have been blown again, Being a love of everything Stephen King, I didn't think I would enjoy this type of stories, but I am having fun reading Mrs. Brady works. Now on to book three. I love finding great writer's and R.D. Brady is a jewel.
After I read the first book I definetly had to read the #2 and it was as good as the first. It has what you want a lot of Action, its funny and Delaney can't stay out of the action. Starting on #3 and I hope its as good.
Awesome! Great adventure. This book fits me to a "T". Multiple locations, Numerous story threads, Plenty of action, and lovely character development makes this a fabulous story. I look forward to reading the entire series.
Another old treasure uncovered, more ancient mysteries coming to light. Gang is finding out more about themselves but the surprises just keep coming. A wonderful series so far.
This book, and its predecessor "The Belial Stone" strike me as (kind of) old-fashioned stories. I was initially having some willing-suspension-of-disbelief style doubts but then it suddenly reminded me of another famous story which I remembered reading years ago and loved. (Perhaps its a South American Jungle thing !). That is, "The Lost World" by Conan Doyle. As soon as I switched off the Dan-Brown-ometer in my head and accepted the book at a different level I really enjoyed it and recognised that this might well be the beginnings of a fantastic series. You can already see characters pairing off, credible nasty baddies and ideas of history, heredity, genetics, anthropology all combining with a Clive-Cussler style swashbuckling. Add a hint of powerful female personality (no gender bias here !) and very good goodies (Angelic even !) and the time spent reading whizzed by for me. Which is, of course, always a good sign. I don't think this is great literature, its not even incredibly original but it is brilliant fun !
Reading it on my kindle I did find rather a lot of spelling mistakes, and strange sorts of transcription (?) errors (as if it perhaps had been typed in/downloaded in ? by a proofreader for whom English may not have been their first language. It made no real difference and would be easy to correct (as Kindles can). Carry on Mr Brady (Corrected to Ms Brady 19/09/17 : Thank You) - 5 stars.
Great as a stand alone despite being one of a series
I very much enjoyed the story, I was unaware that it was the second in a series when I purchased it; however as a stand alone story it was still viable as well as enjoyable. I did suffer I little from missing the character development that I am sure exists more thoroughly in the first book. On occasion this caused me a bit of confusion, but the story is written well enough that I overcame it rather quickly.
Overall I enjoyed the book very much and intend to read the first one while anxiously awaiting future books in this series.
