It was an OK story but it's really bland. The style of writing is simplistic ( the short sentences for the internal monologues added to this impression I think) and the main characters annoyed me.

“I never thought I would be in a friends-with-benefits situation, but here I am in a boss-with-benefits situation.”

This is an enemies to lovers, office romance. It as my first book by DC Kile and I loved it. Book did have some grammatical errors that normally annoy me but I loved the story so much that I ignored it.

Jasper is a grumpy CEO. His past has dealt him some nasty cards and it’s the reason he’s so closed off and so consumed with work. His sore mood doesn’t allow him to keep an assistant. They all quite.

In comes Charlie. An assistant like no other. Shes so personable and liked by everyone she meets. She needs to make a better life for herself and is determined to be the best assistant he’s ever had. Can her charm work on him too? Will she be able to bring down those walls he’s carefully built?

A hot as sin boss with an English accent. That’s a line worth crossing if you ask me!!

Loved it. Oh, and if you like a steamy book, this has a lot of it. 🔥

ehh

More like 3.5 stars - I got bored around 65% and skipped to the ending. The book seemed to have dragged on and the sentences were very short and simple. The MCs also kind of annoyed me. May try this author again in the future. Not sure though
