M.E. Myself and I - Diary of a Psychic: A Miracle Journey Surviving Chronic Illness

Rate this book
'This book is a refreshing and real story. Horrific, but real. Her sufferings have made her the strong, compassionate woman she now is, a shining light, a beacon of hope to the world. This is her unique contribution to humanity, timeless in its strong message of hope to us all. You will not be able to put this book down, guaranteed!' Eileen McCourt, 'Living the Magic - Connecting the physical and Spiritual Worlds'
M.E. Myself and I follows the story of a woman struck down with M.E and Fibromyalgia in the prime of her life as a successful TV psychic medium. Left with nothing but two dustbin bags, demons from the past and her two dogs, she embarks on an incredible journey. Grieving her old life and begrudgingly accepting guidance from angels and spirit guides after losing her faith, she finds a reason to live from the brink of suicide by experiencing celestial miracles and a passion to write.

This inspirational self-help spiritual memoir highlights a chronic illness pandemic sweeping through the world that society has shamefully neglected. Her esoteric voice representing the ‘millions missing' brings hope, faith and a definitive strength of the human spirit during the injustice of one life altering episode after another.

I received a pre-release copy of Nicky's book and loved it on so many levels. The book is a blend of Nicky's true story, raw and genuine diary entries, snippets of spirituality, and humour, which does not sugar coat the trials and tribulations of being a chronic illness warrior.

I think many people will resonate and be inspired by Nicky's authentic share, whether they have personally been affected by M.E/C.F.S or fibromyalgia, or know of someone who has and wishes to develop a further understanding of the life-limiting conditions and their plethora of signs and symptoms.

In addition, Nicky shares her years of experience with the Spirit world with the reader, which provides insight and reassurance that no matter how dark our days become, we are never truly alone.

Just finished reading this book. Absolutely loved it. I was able to relate to so many experiences Nicky had, even though I do not experience M.E or fibromyalgia. I appreciate her candidness and complete honesty in this incredible journey she is on. Great writer. I couldn’t put the book down. I bought both books so I am now gonna start reading Rise and Fall (got the paperback version for that one). I recommend everyone to read this book, so inspiring and wonderful evidence that we are always guided by our guides and angels. Thank you for sharing with us!

Easy and enjoyable read though harrowing at times. This book paints a brilliant picture of what the day to day challenges feel like for those dealing with ME/CFS and fibromyalgia (and related to these, long covid). It’s also an inspirational story showing how the invisible realms can magically guide us to unlock a life that we couldn’t have possibly imagined.

Four stars because I’m a bit skeptical about the psychic stuff. Not that it doesn’t exist for those experiencing these phenomena but because through my healing journey I’ve come to a deeper truth that transcends all of this.

So truly down to earth, emotionally raw, a true ambassador for the power of the Celestial Realms. I read this in an evening and all through the night. Nicky is an example of how important it is to keep, keeping on and not giving up. I could identify so much with Nicky. A million blessings to you Nicky, your Spiritual Team & much love from me & my babies to you & yours xxx

ME Myself and I Diary of a Psychic A Miracle Journey Surviving Chronic Illness by Nicky Alan

288 Pages
Publisher: John Hunt Publishing Ltd, www.6th-books.com
Release date: November 27, 2020

Nonfiction, Health, Mind, Body, Spirit, Religion, Spirituality, Self-Help, Self-Improvement-Self-Empowerment, Codependency, People Pleasing, Mediumship, Psychic

Nicky was a police office until a car accident ended her career. Since that was how she identified, she felt her life had no purpose. The author writes about her experience with chronic illness, fraud, and legal troubles. She had an abusive childhood, a bad relationship with “Dick,” and a chronic illness. I love how she describes living with chronic illness symptoms as body bingo. Every day you wonder what symptom is going to hurt or not work. Some days, she wallows and curses, but other days she triumphs.

She works with the spirits and angels for guidance and has discussions with her deceased father. She mentioned one of my favorite movies, “Sliding Doors,” where one quick act/decision can change the course of your life. The diary she writes is called a soul diary. I think she is brave to share it. It shows her vulnerabilities but also her courage. She has had a difficult life but has finally made the best of it.

While I am convinced that author Nicky Alan suffered terribly with M.E. and fibromyalgia while also experiencing many personal betrayals, she is not a totally sympathetic heroine of her own story. Her downward spiral is aided by poor decision making (drug and alcohol use, bad men, etc) and a failure to take charge of her own life--all of this most likely exacerbated by severe abuse as a child.

The text, interspersed with diary entries from the years the author was in the deepest depths of suffering, could benefit from some editing and structure. It reads like a stream of consciousness. Based on the title, I assumed the psychic aspects of the author's life would be emphasized, but not so much.

The message that sufferers of long time illness can ultimately get their lives back on an even keel is worthwhile, but there are titles out there that are more effective than this one.

Full Disclosure--NetGalley and the publisher provided me with a digital ARC of this book. This is my honest review.

This book is a real life story from a famous psychic called Nicky Alan. Nicky has M.E. and Fibromyalgia and in her book, which is like a diary, she explains what it was like for her when she was going through bad times while she was very sick with these illnesses. Reading her book and diary, I felt very sad for her, but I was also happy to see her strength and bravery and how she fought through every setback to overcome the bad times and set herself on the right path again. I was happy to read that Nicky is back at work again, even though she still has some illnesses. The main thing is that she is still fighting and she is still helping people through her spiritual work. She is an inspiration and a light in this world. I have looked her up on youtube since reading her book and it was nice to see her there chatting and doing her work. I am also a spiritual person so I am very interested in her work.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book will be great for people and their families that are suffering from M.E., fibromyalgia, depression or any other debilitating illness but will also appeal to others whether they are spiritually minded or not. Nicky's connection with spirit and the angels and the messages she receives will astound you.

As a retired police detective she always asks for "evidence" that what she is being told is true. This book tells the story of her life, peaking as a successful celebrity psychic medium. This all came crashing down after a road accident left her with M.E./fibromyalgia. This illness led her to losing everything she owned including her home and she was left feeling completely worthless and suicidal.

It tells how her connection with Spirit and the Angels helped her heal herself and by sharing this experience she hopes that this story will help others.

I have followed Nicky on youtube and have loved her viberant, loving energy, humour and passion for her spititual life. I had to have the book and wasnt disapointed. It tells her story in a abrutally frank and honest way, that can bring tears and chuckles .She lays bare her battles with the demons from her past, her illness and her darkest days coping alone with issues that would have broken any one else. It chronicles her journey with the support of angels and loved ones in spirit from the depth of despare to a life of joy and contentment.
This uplifting book shows that no matter how dark your life is or how far you have fallen into an abyss there is hope and you can reach for the light. Whether you belive in angels or the spirit world it doesnt matter this book will inspire and uplift the reader to seek help and have faith and hope in better things to come.

Wow! What an honest story of facing ones own demons and heartache and doing all this while being crippled not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. As a severe ME sufferer myself, there was so much I could relate to and I just could not stop being surprised and impressed by Nicky's inner strength and fight time aftertime. Bless the spirit world for never giving up! This was truly a world class roller coaster ride that she faced virtually alone that tested her resolve and faith. Her emergence out of all the trials and tribulations from this world as well as the celestial is nothing short of amazing and inspiring. I think Nicky is a fantastic woman and an exceptional teacher and Messenger from all those who spiritual beings that just want to love and guide us. I am so looking for to her fiction work next!

I have had the absolute privilege of reading this book. Not only is this a masterpiece in my opinion, it has the huge potential of being a bestseller. It is the life of a very special lady laid bare, with raw emotion and honesty for all to see. Nothing is held back and her style of writing packs one almighty punch in the solar plexus and heart.
From start to finish I was taken on her incredible journey of happiness, success, positivity and guidance to heartbreaking sadness, illness, depression and loneliness.
One of the things that really shines is her spirituality ! A very powerful channel for our beautiful spirit realms. Nicky has given everything of herself in this book. I have laughed and sobbed in equal measures.
A definite page turner and I highly recommended it.

What a ride!  I’ve experienced every emotion possible reading this book.  Firstly an immediate identification of suffering with this invisible illness and the honest and no holds barred portrayal of desperation it brings to your door.  The grief and relief that somersaults through the journey described.  If you want unbelievable drama sprinkled with miracles, undeniable proof that everything happens for a reason.  That having courage and reason to trust the process with faith and patience will set you free.  This will always remind me never to give up, to sit in my own truth and not to be silent.

Nicky writes from the heart and doesn't pull any punches. The book is peppered with her soul diary references, which makes the connection with the author so much more real. Her long, painful journey with chronic illness makes it all the more incredible that she ever managed to get this book finished.

I have never read a book that is so brutally honest, and yet shares such a beautiful message from above. I can't wait to read her next book coming out soon. I rate this book 10 out of 10.

Thank you Nicky! x

Such a fantastic read. I really just couldn't put the book down? I laughed and cried. Such an amazing and horrific real representation of M.E. and fibromyalgia suffers. This has opened my eyes to how much these people suffer. I love the fact that this is a cross genre book in that it is a memoir highlighting chronic illness and also incorporating spirituality which makes it totally unique. Highly recommend!!! Thank you so much Nicky.
