About the author

Brian Lumley was born near Newcastle. In 22 years as a Military Policeman he served in many of the Cold War hotspots, including Berlin, as well as Cyprus in partition days. He reached the rank of Sergeant-Major before retiring to Devon to write full-time, and his work was first published in 1970. The vampire series, 'Necroscope', has been translated into ten languages and sold over a million copies worldwide.

He was awarded the World Fantasy Life Achievement Award in 2010.

Fan fiction de Lovecraft. Le premier roman est correct, mais part ensuite dans des délires de puissance qui vont à contre sens de toute l'ambiance de Lovecraft. À éviter

Here’s some notes that are in my mind following the end of this book :

- positive thoughts : it is a way to introduce to HPL’s works with a modern style (all the science fiction & dreamlands parts are nice).

- negative thoughts : a child could write some texts sometimes. It’s a little bit too Pulp (with romance stories, it’s not lovecraftian enough). It is not scary enough for me (except the first book).

So, if you are an enthusiast « cultist » of lovecraft’s work, passing your way ; but if you want to read a book who explains the myth with a modern eye, this book is for you.
