Josie Roberts.
She taught me how to love.
She taught me how to hate.
She burst into my heart as abruptly as she left.
I’ve spent eleven years wondering why until she showed up all these years later.
Still bright. Still beautiful.
Still the only woman I’d loved.

* * *
Luke Barrett.
Lover. Liar. Cheat. Criminal.
He left me on the hook for his sins.
I haven’t thought of him since the day I said: “I do.”
But life has a funny way of unearthing your deepest, darkest desire.
And mine just happens to be him.

I am voluntarily and extremely happy to be reviewing an ARC copy of this book. It’s a story of second chances, forgiveness and a realisation that true love never dies.

Luke Barrett goes through women like a fish swims in water and there is never a shortage for the towns local bad boy turned good, but that doesn’t stop people still looking down on him. But when his past is in front of him after eleven years he cannot deny the feelings he has towards the woman he should hate but will always love, she once betrayed and threw him away like yesterdays rubbish and as much as he wants to walk away from her he finds any opportunity he can to spend time with her and her son, what he wants more than anything is answers to why she walked away and when the truth of that fateful day come to light will he really get the woman he had always loved back or will she walk away from him when she discovers the secret he kept all this time?

Josie thought moving back to Briar was the right thing to do, being a single parent she tries to do the best for her son, the last thing that she expected was to find the boy who stole her heart and shattered it living next door. Seeing Luke Barrett as the man he is today and the way he behaves with her son, she cant help but resurrect the love she thought was gone but it turns out was only buried but what she cannot understand why he hates her, she wants the one he tried to destroy her and left her broken and alone after her father banished her from Briar. But things are never what they seem and when she discovers the truth about what her father did will she admit to Luke she has always loved him and will he even want to listen?

I love this book there were parts that were heartbreaking and other where you read the story thinking please don’t leave it like that. Reading it from both POV was perfect for this story and their past was explained throughout the story. All in all its a fantastic read with everything you could want and of course a little boy that steals your heart. Loved the firs book in this series and loved loved this book. Cannot wait to read Ethan Barratts book. highly highly recommended book and series.

Manwhore.

Hero thinks 13 days is a long time without having sex. He was having withdraws for crying out loud. His family was even praising him for going 2 weeks without sex...wow. I can’t even imagine the amount of sexual partners he had in the 11 years they were separated
Cute kid though.

You guys. I have highlighted the crap out of this book.
🌊
This is a beautiful second chance romance. Young loves Josie and Luke were torn apart by deceit. They were each others everything. Josie who was raised in prestige, and Luke who was raised with a drunk town whore until his grandparents took him and his brothers in. Lukes family was the black sheep in this tiny town in Maine. They were looked down on, but that wasn’t a concern for Josie. Money doesn’t mean you are better. You just can hide your flaws with pretty packages.
🌊
11 years later Josie comes home, both figuratively and literally. Luke is home, as well as their home town. Time has changed them... did it change them enough to get over the hurt of the past? To get over Lukes Manwhoring ways? Josie’s Family? Josie’s loss?
🌊
I was a bit nervous at first. I read a really negative review about Lukes Manwhoring ways, as well as Josies Father. It is always amazing that two people can read the same thing, and get something completely different out of it.
🌊
While Luke was very............ experienced. Proud of it in fact, he wasn’t a scum bag. He used his body, but never let anyone in his heart. He was too hurt by what happened. He was always a gentleman, his Grandparents raised him right.
🌊
I do wish we got a pinch more of Josie’s history, but really, it wasn’t needed for the book. We had enough to understand that Josie isn’t the same, strong, loud, woman she used to be. Josie’s heart has been hurt. She had also grown up as well. She is different, and no less strong. If anything stronger now.
🌊
This story was about redemption, about love stronger than years, about new beginnings, about new love, about standing up for love, and over coming deceit.
🌊
I chatted with our lovely author after I read and I brought up that I wish we got more closure on Lukes side about a letter..... not to spill the beans, but closure is still to come. Which guess what that means folks..... MORE BOOKS!
🌊
I can not wait to see what is in store. I know the Llama Drama isn’t over, and there are still so many characters that need their own love story.
🌊
If you believe love deserves another chance, that is is stronger than anything, then read this book!

This is my first book by this author but it definitely will not be the last. I really enjoyed reading this second chance at romance story. The characters were terrific and very well written. The storyline was great and flowed very nicely. There was drama, heartbreak, and a slow-burn romance; a very entertaining story.

Well it’s a great story with connection, love and reunion but I would have love to read were Josie told her father about his secrets’ secret and what her mother would have done when she found out what her husband did and done. Sucks a potty that would have really made my day on this story.

I loved this book. I’m a huge fan of second chance love and boy did this one deliver. Luke and Josie are high school sweethearts but a past misunderstanding breaks them apart.
Years later the pair meet up again. So much has happened since then but the chemistry between them is still there. Still burning hotly between them. But can they forget the past?
Especially as Luke and Josie are so perfect for each other. And Luke is so hot but underneath it all he’s a sweetheart. Josie is a great heroine, she’s smart, sweet and independent.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Quick and Dirty: Small town love story with a slice of scandal, betrayal and vindication!
😤💪

Luke is the town bad boy, the forgotten son that all the ladies now want a piece of. He spends his days working in his shop and getting ready to launch his new brewery and his nights reeling in the beauties - locals and tourists alike. His heart was broken years ago by Josie Garrett and he has no plans of letting anyone in again. That is, until Josie shows back up, 11 years later, with a precocious and disarming 4 year old in tow. The both think the other is to blame for their split but there are other forces at work and it'll take them figuring it out together to finally put the past behind them and face the future together.

I loved the New England feel of the book but I did have a few small qualms with the story. There were a few parts that felt confusing, like where Josie believes her father (which by itself felt out of character) because she claims she's his favorite but up until that point (and afterward) he had done nothing but treat her poorly. The letter was not really discussed afterward and Trish's involvement (or lack thereof) was not really discussed beyond a quick assumption by Josie. Also, I felt the ending was rushed. There is this huge bomb dropped on the reader and I kind of expected there to be more confrontation and fall out from it, but it was glossed over and ultimately their happily-ever-after was a bit anticlimactic. Overall, a fun read but I felt it had a lot more potential that could have been fully reached given a little more story and character development.

I received an ARC copy for my honest opinion.

Barrett All is the second installment of the Barrett Brother Series, and KB Cinder did not disappoint. This is the story of Luke and Josie, a slow burn, second chance, love story. Luke is the bad boy that made something out of himself, proving to the little town of Briar, that a Barrett is staying. Until the woman he loved eleven years ago, Josie shows up being his new neighbor. As much as Luke should hate her, he can’t. Josie and her son Linc is trying to start over. She is having a hard time trying to move forward, when her past is her neighbor, and her son loves him and his dog. Josie is in a world of hurt over what Luke did eleven years ago, a criminal that tried to get out of trouble by blaming her, and lost her family and friends is the process.

I loved the storyline for this book, because it takes you through their journey of heartbreak, and unlike most books it takes more then a few chapters. I loved how their story was not rushed, that it was process that was more realistic, then you could expect. The main characters were truly an enjoyment. The author made you understand both sides of their stories, and relate to their feelings. Linc Josie little boy stole my heart, cute kid, his personality is infectious. Don’t worry the other Barrett brothers make an appearance. I can’t wait until Ethan story comes out. I have so many questions for that one. In all this book is worth every penny for every word. This has been one of my favorite series that has come out this year so far.

ARC Generously Provided by Author

Barrett All is a story of a second chance love, which is one of my favorite tropes. And this is a slow burner that will keep you enthralled. This is my first book by KB Cinder but wont be my last.

Luke Barrett is a ladies man, he used to be the local bad boy but turned good. But that doesn't mean the town has forgotten his old ways, many still frown upon him. When his new neighbor turns out to be the woman who broke his heart and walked away. On the surface, he wants nothing more than to hate her but deeply-rooted feelings still linger. When he has a chance to spend time with her and her son, questions arise about the past and why she left him. But as it goes, nothing is what it seems.

Josie came back to Briar to start a new life with her son, but as it seems it isn't quite as easy as she thought because the man she loved with such passion but eventually hurt her so deeply lives next door. She can't stop thinking about the reason why she lost everything so dear to her. Can she move on from the past?

But nothing stays in the past when there is more to the story. Can the both forgive and forget to move forward or will they let the past consume what they inevitably have?

This book is great because it contains a slow moving love story, I generally hate instant love. I don't personally believe in love at first sight. It was a treat to read a book that is more realistic and true-to-life. There are secondary characters that you will fall for, like a little boy named Linc.

3.5 stars... the first 60-70% of this book was good. I enjoy a lighter and this second chance romance had just the right amount of tension between the characters to keep you invested in their story to find out why they hated each other on sight.

I had a good idea what had gone wrong between them during the flashbacks to 11 years ago. I didn’t work out the full plot twist so that bit had me gasping and shouting NOW WAY!!

From about 70% onwards the book just galloped along and I think the author lost their way a little. Once the bombshell dropped and Luke and Josie we’re reeling from the fallout of past events they seemed to get over it quite quick , one moment all bets are off and the next it’s back to happy families, no confrontation, no how do we deal with this, no now what do we do etc so I feel a little cheated out of drama and karma .

Good gritty writing in the beginning and a good story but I’m left with too many questions and what happened to those involved.

Emotional and fascinating!
I felt that the author had the ability to convey some depth to the personalities of the characters bringing life and likability to each character.
The writing draws you in and keeps you interested until the end.
The chemistry between the H and h is great plus their attitudes and events going on make the story even richer.

Awesome Book

I think Luke is my favorite of the Barrett brothers. I loved how the story was told and how you got to find out little things from the past about Josie and Luke. Luke was so forgiving when it came to Josie and didn’t let the past dictate what would happen in the future. He had me swooning!! He seriously sounds so sexy!!

Second Chance

Of course Luke and Josie got back together finding the love they lost, but the story line moved too slow. The missing links were too disjointed. I loved the ending but there were too many parts of the story that just dragged in and on!

Luke only ever loved Josie but she broke his heart. Now she’s back, with her child, and looks like she blames him when she was the one to break his heart.. or was she!

Aww I liked this story and Lincoln, her son was cute

Was hoping for more steamy romance versus what it was. Would have been nice to see what played out after the confrontation at the end of the book with the entire family - not just the mom.

Second chance romance isn’t always my favorite but I thought this story had the perfect amount of angst and sweetness. It was a super easy read and I never got bored because there was always another shoe just waiting to drop. I think KB Cinder has created a 1-click reader out of me ...now on to book 3!

Luke and Josey

Luke came from a broken home, his mother was a drunk and his father had left abandoned his mother Luke and his brothers and they were relatively poor but they worked jobs while going to school. Josey was the daughter of a politition who thought Luke and his family were white trash. Luke accidentally caught her father having sex in a car with the local slut. After that, Joseys father really hated Luke and had the local cops in his pocket. Two weeks later, Luke had bought a ring and picked up Josey. He was going to propose. Unfortunately, her Dad had the cops stop them and cuff them both. She was put in her Dads car and they beat up Luck really bad and put him in the police car. He had broken bones and cuts. Joseys Dad convinced her that Luke had been running drugs and swore she had put them in his car. She would not believe it at first but her Dad had never lied to her before so he finally convinced her to move and live with her uncle. Then her Dad typed up a letter, supposedly from Josey and sent it to Luke saying she never wanted to see him again. Over the years Josie realized, she could not live with her Uncle anymore than her father. She got married and had a son. Her husband died. She realized she could work anywhere. She wanted to return to where she grew up but Did not want to live with her father or ever see Luke again.
You definitely need to read this book. I have to go back and play catch up on the other brothers and read the ones coming up. I will admit I got hooked on the brothers on this one read and can't wait to read about the rest of the family!

This is the second book in the Barrett Brothers series and it can be read as a standalone. I didn't read book one first, my mistake but it is now one my list to read. Meet Josie who is a single mom, with a son named, Linc. She is trying to move forward with life but her past keeps getting in the way. Case and point, she moves into the house right next door to Luke Barrett! Her and Luke have a past from eleven years ago that is still causing Josie some heartache. She cannot even ignore Luke completely as her son, Linc absolutely loves Luke and his dog. Josie's only goal - get her life on track and sorted for a pleasant and successful future. Luke is a tattooed hotness with a beard.....need I say more? Luke is a bad boy who has turned his life around. He sees Josie struggling and that bothers him. Can these two work through the past? Do they have a shot at a future? I really enjoyed reading this book, it is a longer book than what I have been reading lately but it works perfectly. With dual POV, as a reader get to learn so much about Josie and Luke, the author has done a great job in building these characters and telling their stories.

Barrett All is the second book in the Barrett Brothers Series.

I loved reading from both points of view! and thought it was a great story line that kept me interested! It was a great book but just a couple of tiny nags I have. Luke and Josie had a great connection, but I feel this book definitely could have a lot more potential if there was just a bit more character development! There was also massive 'OMG' moment, and it kinda got brushed under the carpet!? That annoyed me a bit, as I would have loved to read about the confrontation between the father and the mother! We all love a bit of drama don't we!?

It was still a great second chance romance book! and I recommend reading this and the previous book 'Privately'! I lovee the Barrett brothers and can't wait for the next one!

This was a phenomenal book! Another success for K B Cinder! I fell in love with Luke Barrett and Josie Roberts! Luke and Josie were high school sweethearts. The Barretts were from the wrong side of the tracks. The Roberts were prestigious with Josie's father in politics. Everything was great until it wasn't. It's been 11 years and a lifetime ago. Josie has moved back to her hometown, Briar. She's been married, widowed, and has a 4 year old son. She hasn't seen Luke since that dreadful day neither will ever forget. Now they are neighbors. But things would never be like they used to be because both have been through enough hurt for a lifetime. But maybe after all this time, the truth could set them free.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I was hooked from the start. It was a page turner that I couldn’t put down. It had lots of plot twists making it an interesting read. It had some hot and steamy scenes. This book was a about 2 friends/lovers from years earlier, finally reconnecting and finding out what really happened to cause the down fall of their relationship. The slow realease of information about the past was frustrating at times as well as adding to the drama. I loved it. Looking forward to reading book 3.
