Rate this book
It's no secret. The corporate world can be a cold, hard place for women of color.

From dealing with not being able to express yourself fully and freely, being expected to conform to inauthentic norms related to dress, speech, and temperament, or feeling like the goalpost keeps moving on your success journey.

It's time for a battle-tested blueprint that shows you exactly how to stand firmly in your value, impact, and power.

Deeper Than Work provides actionable strategies, relatable stories, and sage advice for ambitious women to reinvent themselves, revive their work, and design a career that’s lucrative, impactful, and fulfilling.

In this book, Dorianne St Fleur— a Black woman, leadership coach, workplace inclusion consultant, and former HR leader — shares the lessons she’s learned both in her own journey to the heights of career success and from thousands of hours spent teaching, training, and coaching ambitious women of color through their own journeys up the corporate ladder.

By the end of this book you’ll know:

* How to uncover your value and impact at work so that you can powerfully stand in your greatness
* The key to building a limitless and thriving career, even if you’re dissatisfied with where you are right now
* Why seeking support and allyship instead of validation and approval from others is the key to career success
* The truth about career fulfillment and why what you’ve been previously taught about dream jobs was wrong
* How to increase your earning potential so that you can save more, invest, and build a legacy

Whether you’ve been working for 5, 15, or 50 years, anchoring on the principles shared in this book will change the trajectory of your career...if you let it.

This book is one of the best non-fiction pageturners you will ever read. I genuinely felt like I received multiple coaching sessions as I read through the book. The advice and the wisdom shared was priceless. I especially appreciated the questions at the end of the chapters to help me reflect on my reading. The stories were relatable. The action items made sense. I loved it!

This book outlines very insightful tools to how women of color can take up space, design their dream careers and ultimately thrive in the workplace amidst the barriers and struggles we ultimately face while working within environments in which we are not always the most favorable. I would recommend this book to any Black / POC women working within corporate America and it is written from the perspective of a Black woman who did it herself and now coaches others / knowledge shares based on her experiences.

I led a book club at my own place of work with this book and received overwhelmingly positive and encouraging feedback. 15/10 recommend!! :)
