A soft 4-stars. Better than #3, but not as strong as #1 and #2.
I like these characters and the crew from the Wicked Sanctuary. The romantic couple in this story grew together nicely. However, several plot-elements were very similar to the previous book, which I had read recently, thus those echoes were distracting.
I still enjoy this series with all the deep friendships and light BDSM. I appreciate the way the club is run. I will keep reading in hopes that they will return to the stronger stories from the first two books.
Better than the last one, but we're back to a newbie Lara who needs explanations about the lifestyle. Colby has admired her for a while, and finally makes a move. He helps her with her crazy family, and I do mean crazy with a capital C. Loved seeing all the previous couples again. Next book is their friend Zeke, and I hope Officer Logan gets a book too.
This is the 5th book in this series but it can easily be read as a standalone. Colby enjoys his life as well as his work at his leather store. Now he wants a chance at a relationship and wants a chance to be with Lara, a café owner. When she is hired to cater an event at Wicked Sanctuary will this be the opportunity to let her learn about who he is? Fast-paced read with sizzling steam and plenty of drama and action. Great characters and an entertaining story. I liked it.
A perfect balance Ravish (Wicked Sanctuary Series Book 4) by Marie Tuhart is a wonderfully well written romance in the BDSM genre’. Colby and Lara are the perfect complement to one another and fantastic characters in this series. I have enjoyed each book from this series and others by this author. Each is connected, but also stand alone. I love that established characters make return appearances in subsequent books. As for the characters in this book, Lara and Colby have many things in common despite the differences growing up. Both are down to earth and so easy to get wrapped up in from the beginning. Colby is dominant, but seems to understand what Lara needs when. Lara, the quiet good girl, has a naughty, kinky side she hides. Colby and Lara together are equally series and playful which makes them so fun to read, yet a serious tone comes into play when Lara’s safety becomes an issue. Sir Colby is super hot! The plot of Ravish revolves around Lara’s family and the lengths they go to to exert control over Lara’s life. There is some anticipation building as the story evolves, a little suspense too. On the flip side, Colby and Lara have a slow build in their relationship, but the embers are lit and stoked throughout and flare, turning up the heat through to the end. Overall, this book is all romance with a couple exploring each other and finding love right along with their place in the BDSM Wicked Sanctuary world and a promising HEA too. I read an ARC of this book via Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
If you are a fan of 50 Shades of Grey, this book is for you! This book has some suspense, lust, family troubles, and a new romance between Lara and Colby.
Lara Meyer is the owner of Sweet & Savory Cafe which is right across the street from leather store owner & whip maker Colby Durham. Lara is a welcoming to all her customers, even the bikers who frequent the shop next door. This accepting person intrigues Colby and he becomes a regular in her shop. Lara gets asked to cater at the Wicked Sanctuary Club where Colby hopes to get his chance with her.
This is the 4th book of the Wicked Sanctuary Club, but the first one I read. It can be read alone, but I can't wait to go back and read the others now!
I rate this book a 4/5 stars. I deducted one star, as the stalker-like behaviors from the brother and ex-husband were major red flags to Lara at the very beginning of the story. Her way of handling it is to ask them to leave; she could have done more to prevent some events that occur later in the book, but it did add a bit of drama and suspense to the story.
I'd like to say a huge thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book from Netalley, and ultimately found it kind of mechanical and bland.
Labeled as an erotic/BDSM focused novel it was much more random insecurities and drama than smut.
First, it tells the story of Lara, a café owner in her hometown, and Colby, the leather shop owner down the street. For anyone outside the state of Texas or those who have not frequented the local boot store, a leather shop owner doesn't usually look like our handsome eyeliner clad cover-boy. Some of the civilians of this small town are part of "the lifestyle" (as labeled in this book and never truly clarified), and ask Lara to cater some of their events. Of course our lead is down and had been to some "lifestyle" parties in college. For someone that had some experience, Lara was incredibly naïve and blindsided constantly. Around all of this, Lara is being threatened by her estranged family and at 75% of the way through the book it still has not been explained as to why.
Yes, this book is readable, and our characters are sweet so you can't help but hope for the best for them. However, the smut is few and far between and quite mechanical. There is no, overarching plot that I can understand, and overall not very exciting.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters, I especially liked how Lara was able to finally stand up to her family and remove herself from those toxic relationships. However, I was disappointed with how clueless Lara seemed to be for someone who has a business degree.
Lara Meyer owns the Sweet & Savory cafe. She comes from a family with money but has always been independent and makes her own way. Max one of the owners of the Wicked Sanctuary BDSM club asks her to cater one of their events.
Colby Durham owns a leather shop and is a Dom. He has been attracted to Lara for a while but was afraid to approach her because he didn't know how she would react to his need for kink. At the event she caters he finds out she dabbled in the lifestyle in college and he asks to be her Dom for the classes required to join the club. They start a relationship that evolves into a real romance. Meanwhile her family tries to dictate who she can serve in her cafe and who she should date. It all comes to a head when her brothers kidnap her and she has to press charges.

Lara and Colby have shops next to each other in town. Her father and brothers, along with her ex of three years are threatening her. Lara and Colby start a relationship that includes a BDSM club as she slowly releases her anxiety due to her family. When situations get worse, Colby has connections to lawyers and cops, along with other from the club and biker club that all jump in to help her. Her kidnapping by them is the final straw and being arrested still does not stop them. The characters are terrific, with intense feelings and emotions, great backstories and friends. The storyline is believable and suspenseful many times. Surprises and twists add to the drama. Loved the tight friend-family that forms around them no matter what they are going through. The ending was great, with a sense that she finally free to live her own life.

I love every chance I get to come back to this little “family”, and I adore the way it keeps growing. One thing this book really stressed was the family aspect of their club. Also, like the book before it, it had enough outside-the-club family drama to fill an entire season of Dr. Phil. I enjoyed watching Colby and Lara navigating their way through it all while also learning about each other, their Lifestyle preferences, and unpacking some old lingering emotional baggage. It was easy for me to fall in love with this pair because they felt a lot like people I could run into on the street in my daily life. And it’s still my favorite thing about this series: the way the author continues to stress “safe, sane, and consensual”. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Hidden Gems Books.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "RAVISH" I love the Wicked Sanctuary series full of heat, intrigue, suspense, lust, kidnapping, irritating ex, family troubles very interesting story. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey Lara Meyer owner of Sweet & Savory Cafe owner & Colby Durham leather store owner & whip maker take you on. Lara gets hired to cater at the Wicked Sanctuary Club where Colby hopes to get his chance with her, but will she accept he needs kink in his life she's a submissive. They have their up's & downs with her family not liking bikers & she doesn't know why also her ex won't leave her alone. I definitely recommend to get this book to see how things go with family issues, a kidnapping, her crazy ex will Colby & Lara get their HEA you must get this very enjoyable book to see how things turn out I look forward to next book in this series.
I have to say I got bored with this book almost from the start. We know who the bad guys are right from the start and we can see all of the problems that they are going to cause. The good guys are rough around the edges with an alternative life style.
What was missing for me was the chemistry between Lara and Colby. The words were there to suggest more passion, however the delivery came across as lukewarm to borderline boring. As for the BDSM aspects they are very mild and almost a bit of a yawn. Remove that aspect of the story and this is mild enough for a Hallmark movie. Yes there is abuse, a kidnapping and some other not so savory aspects to the story, however this is one of those stories that you can put down and pick up and not miss much.

Lara Meyer is the owner of a local cafe, and was hired to cater an event at Wicked Sanctuary, a local BDSM club where Colby Durham is a dom. Colby has waited for his chance to see Lara's reaction to the lifestyle, he isn't disappointed. Lara had never realized how controlling her wealthy family could be until they started to try and interfere with her business, but worse, they are trying to control her personal Life. Wonderfully well written, compelling, and realistic characters who are determined to live their lives as they choose. Sweet and sexy happily ever after romance with light BDSM, and unexpected twists in the plot that kept me glued until the last page. Fantastic book.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I love all of the books in this wonderful series set in the world of Wicked Sanctuary and this ;latest addition is Colby and Lara's story He owns and works in a leather store making mainly whips while she is a local café owner He loves the way she treats all of her customers the same no matter who they are and slowly he spends more and more time at her café. he would love a relationship with her but he has a secret he is a member of Wicked sanctuary the local BDSM club and doesn't know how she would handle it When she is tasked with catering an event at the club she will learn about his world will it drive them apart or make them, realise they are perfect for one another
Another fast paced fun read that totally draws you in and keeps you engaged until the last page
This is a wonderful story by Marie Tuhart. I couldn't put it down. I loved every second of it. I loved the interactions between Lara and Colby.
Lara is running a successful cafe. She has turned her back on her family's wealth to be her own. She just wished that they would leave her alone. Colby owns a leather store and loves going to Lara's cafe. There is something about Lara that draws Colby in. She caters an event at Wicked Sanctuary where she expresses her interest in membership there. Colby asks Lara to explore a relationship both at the club and outside of it. Will they be able to fall in love when outside forces causes trouble for them?

Lara is a caring woman who treats all the customers in her cafe with the same respect - be they bikers, office workers or fellow shop owners like Colby. When she is invited to cater food at the local BDSM club, her friends find out that she's wanted to become a member for some time. Colby, who already is, offeres to be her Dom and ends up helping her not just inside the club but outside of it as well when her family threaten her. I enjoyed their journey although at times her family's actions seemed way over the top for the reason given. As this book is part of an on-going series and characters from previous stories re-appear in this one, I hope that we get to follow Lara & Colby in future books!

Colby is smitten with Lara as she is with him, but they slowly circle each other. However, when Lara asked to cater an event at the club, he takes this opportunity for more, and is more than pleasantly surprised that she is open to this type of lifestyle. Their chemistry together is sizzling hot, and they are really sweet together. However, her family keeps interfering in her life and she will have to make a decision on what she wants to do. I thought this romance was sweet, steamy hot and so entertaining. So far, I have really enjoyed this series.

I’ve been reading this series since the first book and I actually think this might be my favorite out of all of them. I’m not into this kind of life but I still enjoyed the book. I found this one more interesting because Colby and Lara weren’t into it 100% like some of the other couples. They played, but it was definitely lighter compared to the others. I also really liked the story. I enjoyed that this seemed more like they’re dating with a side of BDSM. I liked that Colby was also really into her aside from being interested in the life. He seemed to genuinely care about her and her being interested in Wicked Sanctuary was just a plus. He was also really patient with her! I loved Lara’s strength. She may have been the black sheep of her family but she stood on her own, she was independent and although she may have been scared to try things she gave 110% in everything. Overall this is an easy recommendation for those who enjoy a little less vanilla in their romance books.

I voluntarily reviewed after receiving a free copy. I couldn't put is down. Lara owns a cafe and treats all her customers right but her family is trying to force their views on her including taking back her ex. Colby has noticed Lara and makes his move when she caters to the Wicked Sanctuary. They develop a relationship based on mutual respect and feelings. Along the way when her family goes too far, Lara with the help of Colby and others finally puts them in their place. I liked how strong Lara becomes in this story and Colby is just perfect for her.
I fell in love with Colby and Lara from the start and couldn't wait to read their story. It did not disappoint. Lara is warm hearted and successful despite her family and Colby is the alpha, but supportive male as her partner. The story is a perfect blend of friendship, romance, steam and suspense.
As a side note: I especially loved and chuckled about how the bikers were looked upon at the cafe. I have many friends belonging to the MC world and people do pre-judge and sidestep when in their vicinity. It becomes a joke after awhile and the book portrayed it true to life.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. I really enjoyed this story. The fourth book in the Wicked Sanctuary series is about Colby and Lara. She is so much more than her family wants her to be. It takes a special man to be what she wants and needs. Colby shows that he is that man with his patience and need to protect, care for and love her. She is everything to him. Their story has drama, secrets, betrayal, suspense, kink, lust and love.

3.5 stars This is a BDSM lite, short story. While it has elements of heavier subjects, (bullying, abuse, break-ins, kidnapping), the flow is more of an easier, bedtime read. Colby is the main, male character. Owner of a leather shop with a side gig doing custom whip work, he falls for the cafe owner across the street. But when danger stalks her every move and trouble crosses her door-step, will he be the one to step up and provide support and strength?
A scrumptious and steamy read in the Wicked Sanctuary series! I love Colby’s demeanor about life and especially his patience to wait for Lara! I adore Lara’s character as a strong-willed woman, who fights her family and ex’s intrusion in her life and business. Add in bikers, an interfering aunt and wonderful friends, and this story will have you needing a fan it’s so hot, while chuckling and screaming at the plot twists!
I thought that this storyline was good as were the characters but I felt that it was a little lacking in some areas. I found that the story was well developed and it was well written.
For me, the style of the story could have had a little more romantic scene to set the stage for story to come.
It is 4 stars from me for this one, highly recommended and it was one I really enjoyed!
Colby is a protective man who is so swoon worthy. Lara is a strong business woman with family that tries to control her life. For a BDSM club book, I felt a little cheated, expecting them to have more play, even just at home when she wasn't comfortable to be on display at the club, than there was. It was good was it did happen and I love the ending. It just fell a little short of what I expected (and I did read one of the previous books in the series).
*I am leaving an honest and voluntary review after receiving this book as an arc.
I received a copy of this book through BookFunnel and I voluntarily chose to review it. This is a well written BDSM story with great characters. I am a fan of Marie Tuhart and this book lives up to my expectations. I would encourage you to get this book if you like BDSM stories. This one is worth your time.
The fourth book in the Wicked Sanctuary series. Leather store owner and whip-maker Colby Durham and Sweet and Savory café owner Lara Meyer's story. There is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, a really nasty family and ex, the Wicked Sanctuary BDSM club, trust, and romance. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was my first read by Marie Tuhart. Ravish is the fourth installment of the Wicked Sanctuary series. This story is written as a story of liberation and growing into your own. Lara Meyer is a divorced thriving café owner who has sworn off love. Colby Durham is a whip-maker with a shop next door. He has his sights set on her. However, he doesn't know if Lara will fit into his lifestyle. Lara is just trying to make it on her own but her wealthy well-known family keep getting involved in her decisions. When Lara decides she has her eyes set on Colby, her family do everything in their power to destroy Lara.
There were certain elements of this story that I did like. I thought the dramatic element with her ex-husband and family was nice. I would've preferred the author to go deeper. I found the book to be highly informative of the BDSM Lifestyle, however, I did not feel like it read like a story. The characters were lovable but I wanted to connect with them more.
This book was provided to me by NetGalley. Thank you Backlit PR
I found the writing quite stilted which made it a struggle for me to get absorbed into the story. There was a lot of information about the BDSM lifestyle and a thorough consent explanation. But because it felt almost clinical to me, I didn’t feel any connection between or with the characters.
I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
