He was my worst enemy. He spent every waking moment devising fresh new ways of torturing me. No one has ever been able to make me cry like Matthais Bristow: my twin brother’s best friend, and the person on this planet I hate most.
Then, he left for college and I was free of him. For ten blessed years, I was free of his torture.
Now, he’s back, and he owns half of the family business I spent my entire life preparing to take over.
Is this going to be a new round of his old favorite game, Make Delia McKenna Cry, or am I to believe he’s actually come back with good intentions?

Jasinda Wilder provides a late summer firework with The Parent Trap, a crackling and emotional enemies to lovers romance that includes sizzling hot skinny dipping.
For the first eighteen years of Delia’s life, Matthais Bristow her twin brother’s best friend, bullied her mercilessly. For the past ten years he’s been blessedly absent in her life while she’s been working hard to build nor only her confidence back, but also a magnificent reputation for being a smart and cunning CEO capable to taking the reins of her father’s construction company.
Upon his death though, Delia’s father leaves his company to both siblings in an effort to help the lost Dell, Delia’s brother. However, Dell is adamant and sells his shares to none other than Matthias. Now, Delia and Thai must learn to work together and perhaps even forgive the past in order to have a chance at a future together.
It had been awhile since I read a book by Jasinda Wilder. I will never forget she was one of the first who made me ugly cry. Her writing was beautiful and has now developed into an ever better reading experience.
This story’s flow was smooth and seamless. Once I started reading this story I couldn’t stop. I especially loved Thai’s character development and growth. From his background, he doesn’t feel like a swoon worthy hero. He’s actually not very likeable. But as the story progresses, we see how he gradually transitions into a man worthy of Delia’s love.
The angst, the plot development, the tension between Thai and Delia, their chemistry was utterly enjoyable. And oh does Jasina know how to write sexy times. They were perfect for a hot summer day!
The Parent Trap is standalone contemporary romance by Jasinda Wilder. It is an enemies to lovers, slow burn romance told from both points of view, with HEA ending. Tropes: bully, reformed playboy, brother’s best friend, billionaire.
★ I was given an ARC of this book courtesy of the author via Grey’s PR. The excerpts are from that copy. I am voluntarily reviewing this title. ★
The Parent Trap was an alright enemies to lovers romance. It started out amazing. Delia and her strained relationship with her twin brother Dell. His best friend Thai and how they both teased and picked on Delia when they were kids. A good foundation for the story and the enemy aspect of it. Sadly I felt that Delia and Thai resolved their issues too soon. I would have liked more tension and animosity cause it started out so promising. It all fizzled out for me.
It was fun and good to see how Thai brought out the wild Delia in bed cause she’d been so restrained and focused on work all her life . Not ever having a serious relationship so it shook her how it could potentially be when she became intimate with Thai.
It wasn’t characters I connected with but I still enjoyed the story and Delia’s brother Dell has definitely left me intrigued. The choices he made in The Parent Trap had an everlasting effect on him and that final chapter was the perfect lead up to his book.
Now, this was an ARC. And I have been on a not so positive ARCs strike, and this literally changed it. The whole plot was beautiful. I actually hated Thai. I loathed him, and if a book makes me feel that it’s a goddamn amazing book. Characters were pretty developed, full of life and amazing.
The book follow Ma-thigh-ass, and Delia. This is the definitions of enemies to lovers. Thai bullied Delia for 18years to the point of her loosing her confidence and building back up when he left her life for good.
He’s her brother’s best friend, and her own twin brother witnessed every cruel joke, prank, comment and even participated (by laughing) and she hated him as well. She worked hard to be who she was at the age of 30, and worked harder to be the successful business woman she was.
Dell (Delia’s twin brother) sells his shares, and Thai buys them. They both know it’s a terrible idea, and Dell’s selfishness doesn’t let him see what a terrible idea that is. But some part of Thai knew he can prove her wrong and even find his purpose.
“I just don’t know that you and me doing this to Delia is…a good idea. In fact, it’s a terrible idea. It’d be a whole new kind of torture for her.”
both guys eventually apologize but one relationship moves on, while the other just deteriorated.
The whole book is focused on the couple and how they eventually find their groove and fall deeply for each other.
As I’ve said before, I rate a book solely based on how fast I read it or if I can/can’t stop reading it. I couldn’t even stop. Its 2:18am, and I didn’t stop until I noticed it was over. Both characters are full of development since the beginning, really easy to read and understand.
I will be reading this again soon, as this is the type of book that you’ll eventually love so hard that I will live rent free in your head.
Tropes: Enemies to lovers, bully, reformed playboy, brother’s best friend, billionaire.
Romance: ❤️❤️❤️❤️ (it’s really cute and grown up!!) Spicy: 🌶🌶🌶 (damn! What little smut we had, was AMAZING! The beach scene? I screamed)
I enjoyed this book so so so much. I fell in love with Jasinda's books when I met the Badd Brothers. She has the right combination of heart fluttering romance and heated, pant-melting, steamy scenes. The Parent Trap had just the right amount of everything.
Delia is quirky, career driven, functional dater (she goes through the motions of essential dating to get to where she needs things to be). Matthais (Thai) is the free wheeling serial dater whose idea of commitment is seeing the same hook up more than once. These two are sworn enemies from childhood as he is her brother's best friend / her tormentor and there is a rather amusing tale between them involving an actual trouser snake!
These two are chemistry waiting to burst from the pages. There is a simmering resentment and anger underlying Thai's reintroduction in to Delia's life. But this isnt your usual enemies to lovers. These two are actually pretty mature about things. This narrative has a lovely comedic tone that doesnt downplay the themes of growth, forgiveness, healing and building a real life partnership. By the HEA you truly feel they've learned, grown and are better off for where life has taken them. And as for steam levels. These two are HOT. I adored them together and loved every amusing quirk and adventure these two went on.
I loved the concept but I couldn’t connect with Delia at all. I loved that she literally built her own house - how cool is that?! - but some of the things she would say irked me. I’m her age and I would NEVER say some of those phrases. (chaps my ass? what are we 80?) I ended up skimming after 30 percent.. After “The Cabin” this was a bit of a let down.
I read "The Parent Trap" by Jasinda Wilder in one seat. As soon as I started it, I knew it was going to be one of those books. The type of book that keeps you awake late in the night because you just can't put it down. And I was right. The book wasn't action filled, but rather focused on character development and I really loved that. In fact, it was a perfect blend between sweet, heart swelling romance and heated steamy scenes. Bonus points for that skinny dipping scene. I'm still processing that one 😅 Delia and Thai were definitely interesting characters. Delia was quirky, ambitious and career driven, while also being a book nerd. I loved how she knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to speak up in order to get it. I related a lot with her character... except for the fact that I'm not going to inherit a big company anytime soon and there would be no Thai. Speaking of Thai, that man definitely knows how to make you love him. Not like him, love him. Thai is more than his spoiled rich-boy façade and I really loved the way he was honest from the start about what he wanted. Their love story began with hate, but as we all know, there's a thin line between the two emotions. Their chemistry was off-charts and the banter between them was absolutely hilarious.
Overall, this was a really good book and I enjoyed reading it. And like any book that manages to keep me up late in the night, this one definitely gets
𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄: Another mind blowing book by Author Wilder that left me a mess in its wake. It's filled with hilarious moments, steamy Romance and characters that will make you fall for them.
Delia McKenna and Mathias Bristow, as far as you can remember have this Volatile relationship. Their banter in the book was everything for me...it was entertaining and filled with so many laugh out moments. Of course without some scenes making you cry, it would be classic Author Wilder book.
The character development in this book is something awe-inspiring... especially for Thai...being a spoilt rich boy to a hard working, selfless man who will sacrifice anything for his love. Thai was adorable but at times frustrating too...I wanted to smack him and then hug him...Definitely gave me all the feels here🤣❤...
Listen up!!! Enemies to lovers Romance lovers...you have got to devour this book.
After the death of her father, Cordelia McKenna inherits half of, and takes over, their family business, a construction company she’s worked for her entire teen and adult life. However, to her dismay, her estranged twin brother inherits the other half. Delia expects her brother to be as uninvolved as possible, but is surprised, and upset, when he sells his share of the company to his best friend. His best friend, but her tormentor throughout their entire childhood and teen years. For 18 long years, Matthais Bristow was nothing but mean and cruel to Delia. But for 10 years, Delia had been able to live in peace. So his return to their home-town is anything but good news for her, especially now that he owns half of her company. At first, Delia thinks all of this is just a cruel prank her brother and Thai are playing on her. But the better she gets to know him, the more she realizes that maybe, just maybe, people actually can change for the better. Because the Thai she’s getting to know now, is so very different from the Matthais who was once anything but a Saint to her.
REVIEW
My first ever book by Jasinda Wilder was The Cabin, a book that broke my heart into a tiny million pieces. All I have to say about it, is that I loved it with every shattered remains of my bruised heart. When I read the blurb, I knew it wouldn’t be like The Cabin, I knew it probably wouldn’t break my heart the same way, but I still knew that I would fall in love with The Parent Trap. The blurb really drew me in, and the tropes mentioned were only the cherry on top. I’m happy to say that I was right about my assumptions; I loved every single sentence in The Parent Trap. Maybe I’m biased because Jasinda Wilder is one of my absolute favorite authors, but the faults I found in this book (not grammatical, because grammar is not my strong suite) were between zero and non-existent. Jasinda Wilder’s writing is so, so good. I will never get enough of her work.
Cordelia McKenna is one of the few ‘grumpy’ heroines I’ve ever come across. I loved that. Grumpy heroes and great, but we rarely see a female lead who isn’t sunshine incarnate. She’s strong and independent, she speaks her mind, she’s confident when it comes to her career choices and she’s as determined as they come. Delia is a hands-on owner of a construction company, another thing I haven’t read about very often; female leads with labor intensive jobs, much less ones owning such a company. And it’s not just something that was handed to her because her father was the owner, but because it’s a company she’s worked for almost her entire life. A hard worker, almost what some would consider a workaholic, and passionate about her job, Delia was made to run the company. In the beginning, I did have somewhat of a hard time liking Delia as a character. She seemed mean in a hateful and not grumpy way, especially towards her brother and Thai. But the more I read about her, what she went through with Thai and Dell, the more I understood her. He grudge, the way she reacted and her feelings towards the entire situation was, in my opinion, justifiable. I understood perfectly how and why. She’s a flawed character, but she’s perfectly flawed, and has a character growth to be proud of.
For some reason, even though he’s supposed to be a reformed jerk, Matthais Bristow was a character I loved immediately. We don’t get to see him during their youth, the time-period in which his character left something to be desired. So my feelings towards him might be a bit biased, I suppose. For years, Thai used to torment Delia on a daily, just for the sake of it. He was nothing but a nasty little menace she wanted out of her life. Which was exactly what she got when he left for college. But 10 years later, he buys Dell’s part of the company. Now, he’s back in her life, but he’s no longer the jerk he used to be in the past. Reformed jerk-a-zoid. But Delia doesn’t trust the ‘new’ Thai, and is as cautious and suspicious as ever. I love Matthais’ character arc as much as I’m allowed to. Grade-A jackass during his youth, a former playboy all throughout his life before he moved back, Thai now lives somewhat of a completely different life. When he was younger, he felt no urge to work. He saw no reason to ever actually work, or to even just put some effort into anything he did. Why would he when he could live a luxurious life off of his parents’ money? But after the epiphany he had in college, he turned his life around and found his passion. Buying Dell’s half of the company was one of the biggest decision he made. Delia expected him to be like his old self, or like her own brother. But Thai is anything but. The company he bought half of, is something he isn’t very familiar with. But he wants to prove to Delia that he has changed, that the company isn’t just some silly acquisition he doesn’t care about. All he really wants is to prove his worth. He’s dedicated to his new company and he’s passionate.
Even though he was a grade-A jerk before, Thai is now so sweet, so cute, and adorable when it comes to Delia that it sometimes just made me giggle like a mad woman. I loved that he actually realizes and admits that he was anything but nice and civil to Delia when they were younger. His ‘redemption arc’, if I may call it that, was so, so good. He didn’t go from her villain to her hero in just the blink of an eye. He had to beg, he had to grovel, he had to work for her forgiveness.
I loved their heart-to-heart conversation about their past, how they talked about the many ways his cruel ‘jokes’ affected her back then, how it still affects her in the present. How he’s really trying to be a better person, to her especially, and how he acknowledged his past behavior and takes responsibility, apologizing for everything he did, asking for forgiveness. This was a legitimate enemies-to-lovers, and I loved this story so, so much.
I do have to say that, for the first time in a while, I didn’t make any ‘notes’ while I was reading. Why, you may ask? I was so into this book that I forgot to actually make notes. So good!
One last thing. If you’ve read this book, you and I can both agree that Dell, her twin brother, is such a jackass. But his heart-to-heart with Matthais, his side of the story? It broke my heart. It made me tear up and got me right where it hurts. Before I even knew he’d have his own book, I could already see his own redemption story unfolding. And I’m so, so glad that he gets his very own book. I’ll be waiting.
In short, I thought this was such an amazing book, one I would highly recommend to everyone. It won’t break your heart or make you cry like The Cabin did, but it is just as good, just as worthy to be read.
I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was full of chemistry and angst. The beginning gives you a heartwrenching story of loss and two siblings (Delia and Dell) trying to work through a family business inheritance. Without giving too much away, Thai (her brothers best friend/her childhood bully) ends up half owner and Delia is forced to run the business with him.
I usually have a hard time with enemies to lovers that begins with bullying, BUT, Thai really redeems himself with Delia (and readers 😂) in this book!!
Let’s just say the second half of the book is filled with some of the best 🔥🔥🔥 moments I’ve read in a while. The beach scene, oh my!!
This was the first book I’ve read by Jasinda and it will definitely not be the last! Can’t wait for Dell’s story!
I actually had to think and sit for a minute about my review for The Parent Trap. I wrestled with my personal feelings with what I love in books versus how the book was written and the possible reasons why. The biggest issue I had with this book was that I love the angst scenes that usually happen 2/3 of the book. However, I still gave this book 5 stars because the story was real. It wasn't filled with unnecessary communication issues and all the other interesting ways to break a couple up. The Parent Trap had true communication about Delia's fears and how her and Thai could possibly work through their history and the scars it left on Delia.
Those scenes where Delia was 100% honest about her fears, feelings, and everything inbetween is what made this book stand out and be worth 5 stars.
So Matthias (or Thai) was an utterly awful, irredeemable snot when he and Delia were younger. And his departure from town was most welcome because Delia had a lot to work through concerning her self-esteem and the damage he did. The worst part? He was her brother’s best friend. And her brother never did a single thing to defend her or to stop the torture. So I already had quite the dislike foe a few people. But then…maybe things change. Maybe people change. Because Thai sure seems to have grown up and found regret and remorse to be his closest companions when it comes to Delia. He just has to prove that this isn’t a joke or a prank or the nastiest long con ever. So he’s got an uphill battle ahead because Delia is (rightfully) holding a wicked grudge and zero trust for the guy who was a part of every bad memory she had.
I won’t lie. I disliked Thai at first. And I never warmed up to Dell (but maybe I will eventually?). Delia, while appearing hard hearted, was easy to identify with. She was a hurt little girl who grew into a woman unable to believe that Thai wasn’t here just to ruin everything one last time. But when Thai showed how different he truly was and didn’t seem to do it for any accolades or audiences, I couldn’t help liking him. Even when Delia shut him down, he didn’t revert to the angry little boy he once was. Oh, no. He laid himself bare and demanded that Delia give him all the hurts and misery he’d caused. Because he found himself wanting this woman and her happiness more than anything else in life.
This book was just SO good because at its core is a story of maturing and realizing that actions hurt, then trying to figure out how to make it right. And Thai proved to be spectacular at growing and showing his true self now. As for Delia, she needed to trust and let herself be free once in a while, so who better to stand by her side while she learns that than the man who refuses to let her be sad? There’s no OTT drama to be had. There’s no big “gotcha” con. There’s just a man trying to deserve the woman he loves and a woman falling for the man he is now. Sure, it’s funny and heart-wrenching at times, but that’s part of what made me want to stick with Thai and Delia to see what they’d end up as. Friends, lovers, or everything. Maybe all three. And that’s just perfect because these two richly deserved it by the last pages.
Now I have to get ready to warm up to Dell, because I have a feeling he’s got quite the story to tell.
Review : Delia has always hated Matthias because no one has made her cry more. Her twin's best friend is like the devil from hell. He has always taken joy in her tears and loved to make her cry by teasing and troubling her. The years for which he went away for college were some of the best ones for her but now he is back. Not only is he back , he also has his hands on one thing she has always wanted , her father’s company. Now they both own the company and Delia has no choice but to work peacefully with the one man she hates the most. But has he changed? Or is he still the same boy who loved her tears more than he loved her.
This damn book! I have been a huge fan of these authors , as much as I love her angst filled rides , nothing could have prepared me for her enemies to lovers book! Matthie=as and Delia are pure fire and I loved them so much! The whole ebook had this amazing vibe about it making it one of my top reads! Jasinda has killed me with this one and I am loving it so much.
I will definitely recommend this book to all the enemies to lovers of romance loving people!
Trope: Brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, angsty and all things spice and nice
Review: ARC generously provided in exchange for an honest review
Rating: 5/5 (would give more than this of possible)
Okay wow. New author and definitely reading more books by her. The writing style is oh so amazing!!!
This is already the best book of this month. It was so freaking good. I can not stress enough on the fact that I couldn't stop reading once I started. It was perfect. The business side of the book was perfect and absolutely loved reading them, enjoyed it and also understood that they really do matter in every business😂 *eye rolls at my uni*
Thai and Delia were perfect, god I hated him at the start and deserved what he received but as he grew, he changed, and changed alot. The way he reflected on himself with Del, it bought sobmnay emotions in me. Delia was such a strong headed woman, workaholic and the best female lead ever. She gave her best in everything. She builds, manages a team, built her whole house!!! Damn I love that woman.
Everything was so perfect, the angst, the sexual tension was above the roof. The scenes... God did some make me cry and some make me swoon. Del, Delia's twin brother and Thai's best friend. He is a D'bag, but I understand what he felt too. I can't wait to read his book!!
Honorable mention: The ocean/beach scene✋ another hot scene !!!🔥
Just read this book you guys, you do not want to miss this book and I mean it✨
I received this book as an ARC and I was not paid for this review. All opinions are my own. I have never read Jasinda Wilder but this was a GREAT way to start. I had no idea what I was getting into with this book. When I saw the title my mind went to Lindsay Lohan and Denis Quaid. And then as I started reading it I was like this is nothing like the Parent Trap I watched 500 times as a kid. And then IT HIT ME. It's the concept of a Parent Trap Jessica- DUH. There's my little brain dump. To my review of the book. Wow. This was a surprising story of the power of forgiveness. I am someone that is of the opinion, and always will be, that there is ALWAYS something to learn from a book. It doesn't matter if you know the main characters will end up together. That's not the point. And in this case that was not the point, the point was how we handle forgiveness, and grudges. Forgiveness is not for the offender, it is for the offended. Wilder did an amazing job of one, showing how time can shape us and change us into the people we were meant to be. Two, how forgiving someone for something in the past that you have carried with you all this time can open a door that you have held shut purely because you have been unable to let go. Third, Wilder's writing on body image struck deep with me. Something I have struggled with all my life. I get it. I really do and it is liberating to know that it really doesn't matter the person that loves you, truly. Will love you for you, rolls, cellulite, dimples and all. Last but certianly not least THE SPICE, WAS SPOICY LIKE HELLO. This really was such a pleasure to read and I will CERTAINLY be reading more of the wonderful Jasinda Wilder!
The Parent Trap is a fantastic enemies to more romance that will put a smile on your face. I loved every moment of this one. Delia is everything I wanted and more. She has this strength and of course a workaholic. She knows how to handle the construction business. You feel for her on how she was treated by her brother and his best friend. Then there is Thai who at times I did not know what to expect. You get that spoiled rich play boy who can also be sweet and hard working. I love the changes that go on through this read with Delia and Thai. There is such a spark that between them that will pull you in and make you fall hard for these too. You feel the years of regret rolling off Thai when it comes to how he treated Delia from the very moment he steps back into town. You need to read this and giggle just a little and swoon even more. I loved Thai and Delia so much. I am so looking forward to Dell's book (Delia's twin) and see him grow past the spoiled rich boy he comes off as.
Delia has worked her whole life in preparation to take over her father’s company by herself and no one has ever questioned that not even her twin brother. At the will reading after her dad’s passing a surprised is revealed Delia and her twin have been named co owners of the company leaving everyone shocked and confused. Dell, Delia’s twin, wants nothing to do with the company and sells his half to his best friend Matthais aka Delia’s archenemy. Unable to change what’s happening, Delia must learn to work with Thai (aka Matthais) but Delia is finding that task challenging in more ways than one.
This is a steamy enemies to lovers, best friend’s sister story really well written. The chemistry between Delia and Thai is immediate and their vulnerability with each other is profound. So much growth happens for Delia and Thai individually as well as together which made this so much better. This is a quick and steamy read with depth.
Another fabulous enemies to lovers from Jasinda Wilder. The Parent Trap! I enjoyed Delia and Dell’s story so much, you can’t help fall in love with these two.
Dell made Delia’s life hell when they were younger, and to top it off, he was also her brother’s best friend. After a tragedy strikes Delia and her family, the construction business her father built which she assumed she would take over, is now being shared with her arch enemy, Dell. There’s a few twists and turns and lot of back and forth banter, that turns into quite some heated times.
Follow along with these two and they navigate life and love and learning to forgive and forget.
Wow, just wow! I knew this was going to be a great story. I could stop reading once I started. It was perfect. The Parent Trap was more than great! It was everything I wanted and needed it to be! There is something so real about this story. What I loved most about it is it wasn’t filled pointless communication issues. The Parent Trap had realism about it. The scenes where Delia was 100% honest about her fears and feelings could be any of us. It had a rawness about it that we don’t often get in romance. That alone makes this book worth reading. Whoa girl, if you're looking for some steamy, passion, enemy to lover romance, this is the book! Jasinda Wilder brings the next level of brother's best friend hate to a new hot romance!
Delia and Thai are two people you'd never picture together based on their past. But people grow up and change, and truths come out and a new friendship happens. I've never cheered for a couple more than them.
Best part of all, this book ends with Delia's twin brother Dell is looking for purpose and may have stumbled upon it in the middle of nowhere! I can't wait to read his story and hopefully see what Delia and Thai are up to as well.
What a book, what a fantastic and beautiful love story. I haven't read a Jasinda Wilder book in a few years and just reading this shows me just how good this author spins a world of beautiful characters and experiences that you would totally want to be in.
Delia and Thai are sworn enemies although they haven't laid eyes on each other for years. And when they do it's not what either if they expect. We follow their story of change, passion, and forgiveness. This story was hard to read in parts as she took so much abuse and torment from her brother Dell and Thai as kids, it left wounds that are hard to heal from. Reading Thai peel back her layers and making Delia see what a special woman she is, was just beautiful to read.
I was very emotional reading this book but it wasn't only tears, I laughed a lot as well. Some of the banter was funny to read amongst the hurt and heartbreak. This book is great. One that I totally recommend and I really can't wait for the next book. I'm so glad I've read this book, it made me realize how much I love this authors words
I have never read a book by Jasinda (not sure why), so I felt truly honored to receive an arc of this one.
I have to be honest – this book started off at 5 stars for me and somewhere near the end (last 10-15% in slowly went to 4 to a 3). I can't rate it a 3 because overall this book is written very well and I was intrigued by these characters. The plot was entertaining and I needed to see where they would end up. However, I just didn't care for how quickly things seems to just come together near the end.
Jasinda does a phenomenal job of introducing her characters and allowing her readers to really get an understanding of the dynamics. There is no love-loss between these characters and it's quite tangible that their hatred is real.
I want to say so much but what made this book all the more enjoyable was not knowing exactly what to expect from these characters. Their mannerisms, characteristics and overall vibe is also what kept me glued to the pages.
The story flows wonderfully and the pacing of everything is very natural (minus last 10ish%). I enjoyed getting to know these characters and their dialogue at times was quite hilarious. Delia does not hold back on anything and both her brother Dell, and his best friend Thai also know how to dish it out.
The Parent Trap was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to Dell's book in the future.
Jasinda Wilder always amazes me. It is my third book read by hers and I can't believe how amazing she writes. . If you like alpha male, this is your book and if you don't like them as much as I do also this is your book. . At first I hated Thai Attitude but it is the alpha male, womanizer and rich winner who is just beginning a path of personal discovery and it is through the challenge that Delia represent that is capable of reach for him. I Just love Delia, who doesn't love a girl boss who can kill in her stilettos. It is the image of getting ahead and surpassing oneself to becoming a strong person . After the death of their father, the Mackenna brothers are involved in an uncomfortable situation, they must work together for six months so that each receives their inheritance. Dell and Delia couldn't be more different and get along worse despite being twins. The last thing Dell wants is to have to work with the golden daughter in the family business and as a last joke he decides to kill two birds with one stone by selling his share to his best friend and his sister's nemesis Thai. . In this enemies to lovers and my best friend's sister, there are so many emotions starting to shift. With beautiful landscapes and a slow, very slow burn that ends up setting fire to everything and consuming this story in a good ending. . Another thing that I like about her books is the different rhythm and the lack of attachment to what is expected of labeled characters, it is always a pleasant surprise and something very enjoyable to read when there is something so clean and full of love and pasion it makes me think that she really enjoyed writing it . Passion, lust, friendship and love come together perfectly in the pages of this beautiful book, thanks to Jasinda Wilder and Grey's Promotion for give me an arc and let me enjoy this great reading in exchange of my honest opinion . Of course I will be waiting anxious for the next book to come out of what promises to be a really good serie
The Parent Trap is the first book that I've read by Jasinda Wilder, so I'm not really familiar with her writing style. But surprisingly, I enjoyed this book more than I have expected. What attracted me to read this story in the first place is when I found out that this book would be serving enemies to lovers where the male lead had been bullying the female lead for years. It's the type of trope that I'm a sucker for. N you know what, Jasinda really did understand the assignment. What makes it better is the characters' development throughout the story. I liked how the characters took their time to develop and slowly fall for each other. That's the type of content that I was looking for.
Not only that, but I also think that the entire plot is interesting and well written. It really got me hooked from the beginning till the end. Hence, I think Jasinda has done a good job in delivering the story of Thai & Delia. It was truly an enjoyable read for me. If you're in the mood for enemies to lovers & brother's best friend trope, then this book is exactly what you need.
4.5 stars! Redemption and forgiveness made sexy. The awakening and self discovery of these two characters, both individually and as a couple, was wonderfully written. Delia is such a relatable character, I think most women have felt like she does at one point or another. Yet she still manages to keep her head high and be a badass boss in what has always been described as a “male” profession. It felt like I was right there along with Delia in her feelings towards Matthais. He is easy to hate, yet his openness and vulnerability as the story unfolds makes the reader see how much he’s changed. I loved how these characters accepted each other’s imperfections and discussed past trauma openly and honestly. Delia and Matthais truly bring out the best in each other. As spicy as it was romantic, this bully/enemies to lovers was a breath of fresh air.
What a great book!!!! This book gave me a range of feelings happy, sad, anger, excitement and boy did I laugh. So many serious and delicate topics were handled in such a classy and positive way. Thai was awful (and that might be too kind of a word) to Delia as children and she has lived with that for all of her life. Delia has worked hard to get to where she is and isn't willing to give Thai and inch or the benefit of the doubt. I loved seeing how both Delia and Thai change and grow throughout this book and the more I read the more I smiled. It is a wonderful enemies to lovers book and well worth the time to read it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for my honest review.
The Parent Trap by Jasinda Wilder is an enemy to lover’s romance and I loved it so much. Delia and Thai’s story has all the angst that keep you hooked from the first page. This book is beautifully written. It is full of passion, heartbreak, and amazing chemistry between the characters that will make you smile and melt your heart. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait for the next one!!
Wilder stirs the pot with heat, humor and heart. The Parent Trap starts a fire that once ignited is hard to get under control. The past comes back with a vengeance and bites you in the heart. Delia and Matthias are an explosion of the senses that makes for a heartstopping temptation.

A sweet and fun enemies to loves romance.
I’m a huge fan of this author and love the many genres she writes in so when I read the blurb for this; I couldn’t wait to read it.
Delia McKenna has spent nearly all her life dedicating most of her time to her families construction business. Now her father is sadly, close to dying and she expects him to leave her the company as her twin brother Dell has never shown any interest in it. At the reading of the will, Delia is shocked to discover her father split the business equally with her brother but what shocks her even more, he sells his share to his best friend.
Matthais Bristow has led a privileged life and as a result of his family’s wealth, spent most of his youth and adulthood partying and having fun. As he’s got older, his lifestyle became boring to him so he started investing in companies as something to do. When his best friend offers to sell his stake in his family business to him, he sees it as a perfect opportunity to do something useful with his life so he agrees. Having spent most of his life teasing and tormenting his best friend’s twin, he knows he won’t be welcomed by Delia who he hasn’t seen for over 10 years but that fact adds to the appeal of moving back to his home town.
When Matthias walks into the boardroom, Delia thinks it’s just a huge prank but the jokes on her when he makes it clear that he intends to participate fully in all things regarding the business. As she’s forced to spend more time with him, Delia realises he’s changed from the boy she knew and she begins to like the new version. Years may have passed but it’s hard for Delia to forget the decades of teasing that made her life miserable but with Matthias bringing the fun to her life that she was lacking, will she forgive him and let business turn into pleasure?
I really enjoyed this story. Delia and Matthias were both easy characters to like and it was great to see how their relationship evolved throughout the book, he definitely redeemed himself for all his past behaviour. There were some great side characters too and I can’t wait to read Dells book when it releases next year and I definitely recommend this one.
