The National Bestseller is just as relevant today as it was when it was first published, because investors are still making the same mistakes!
Do you ever pay top dollar to go to a sports event or concert, but then drive around and around the block to save a few dollars on parking? Would you go 15 minutes out of your way to save $25 on a $45 lamp, but not to get a $750 television set for $725? Are you more comfortable choosing the numbers 8, 17, 9, 4, 11, 34 for a lottery ticket than 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you’re like everyone else – a victim of human nature. In this national best-selling book, author and financial industry executive Ted Cadsby shares the secrets of the field of behavioural economics and shows you how your own psychology is at the root of the 10 most costly investment mistakes you’re likely to make. He also provides a concrete solutions and detailed advice to help you outsmart yourself, put market probabilities in your favor, and improve your investment returns.

This is a solid book with solid investment advice for the typical individual. My only beef with this book is that only one tip is Canadian specific (or at least local specific). Other than that, the whole book is just good solid advice. I would gladly recommend this book for those who are too emotional with their investing as this will help become aware of one's biases.
Pros: Well written and organized Most of the tips are common to the beginner investor Explanations of the biases behind each mistake
Cons: Should remove the Canadian part of the title Should have footnotes for the figures provided
