What do you do when your friend turns out to be a ghost and you accidentally send them to the Underworld?
You try to bring them back to life. Or at least, that’s what I do.
We may have defeated our enemy, but not before she struck a final blow. We refuse to let her win though. My men, my pack, and I will find peace. We will get our happily ever after and we will get our friend back.
*Spoiler Free review* This is the final installment in the Bad Moon Academy trilogy. I’m a little torn about this book. I was greatly looking forward to one part of the book, and I felt like it was a little anticlimactic and ended far too quickly. I love the set up that this book has, and I really enjoyed the epilogue. I kind of hope there will be more in this series to explore that further! One of my issues with many Why Choose romances is that we rarely get to dig deep enough into all the love interests. I really, really want to know more about Adler’s past, and even Braydon’s mysterious past has so much more that can be explored. Then, of course, there’s Everett and Carter, who I feel like we just got to scrape the surface for. I honestly don’t remember a thing about Everett’s past, if it was even mentioned. It does feel like there’s a lot left untold at the end of this book, and I can tell that some of the characters in the book will be getting (or already have) their own books, particularly the mysterious vampire and alpha wolf shifter who give off strong enemies-to-lovers vibes. All in all, I liked this trilogy, and I look forward to reading more by the author!
POPSUGAR Reading Challenge 2023: This book fulfills the "A book with mythical creatures" category.
This series has been a crazy ride of twists and emotions mixed in with some creepy "what the heck is happening" and I enjoyed every moment. Raven grew tremendously from book 1 to the end of book 3 and her men were protective, supportive, and, let's be real, hot the whole way through. Each guy had time with Raven and it felt natural, cementing each relationship further, rather than checking a box like some medium sized groups can get. Also, Joan, she deserves her own shout-out because if I ever get an inner wolf, I'm formally requesting one like Joan. Even if I'll look crazy constantly laughing at the antics in my head. We also see more of Lou (these scenes were just heart-warming) and Raven has to face some of the messiness emotionally her mother left her with in a difficult but necessary scene.
I liked that all the questions about Bad Moon Academy and Raven's story were answered by the end AND there were scenes a few months down the road so that we could see how everyone was adjusting in their happiness. I do still have some questions about things that happened regarding other characters, but I think Ms. Miles is setting up future stories in this world. There are certainly some feisty characters introduced here that could give new men a run for their money. There are also some cameos from characters from other books if you've read more of Ms. Miles's stories.
Even though there was still a lot to cover in book 3, the story flowed really well and the pacing kept the right amount of tension for me so I was never losing interest or too tense for too long. There's more steam to enjoy and more sweet moments. I'd love to read more strong but vulnerable FMCs from Ms. Miles, I know her badass FMCs get a lot of love, but I think she did an amazing job with Raven's story too. I'll keep throwing this series at anyone who'll listen to me too, it just really hit the spot for me with each book release, well done Ms. Miles!
What a journey this series has been, and I've loved every page of it. The characters are so well written, and the storyline this book provides completing the series. Was amazing. In this book we see Raven pick up from when the last book ended with her search for Bea when she disappeared too. This takes the book on some crazy twists that lead to many conclusions of things you wanted to know from the previous books. To also end out the series in such a great way. Plus with the many steamy scenes with her five mates, this book ends with what Raven deserves after everything she's been through.
I love how Rory never leaves anything up for question or any plot holes, her world building and character development are phenomenal and I found myself falling in love with Raven and her guys even more (shout out to Everett and Carter, I loved them this book)! I also love how if you read her previous blood series you’ll get a peek at some of her past characters! I’m sad to see this series end and am hoping she’ll do more with side characters. Truly phenomenal read.
This series has been a true delight to read at every turn, yet this final installment was the most stunning of them all. This conclusion had me at the edge of my seat, reading deep into the night to see how it all wrapped up. The author pulled off an amazing feat in this one. Just a fabulous series from start to finish. I highly recommend it to all.
This is the final book in the Bad Moon Academy series. It's been a fun journey. You know, it's a bittersweet feeling. On one hand, I felt it wrapped up beautifully. There was tons of action and plenty of steamy moments. On the the other hand, no more Joan. She added so much humor and sass. I love Rory's writing style and definitely gonna check out more from her.
This is a great ending to this awesome series! Questions have been answered, twists and turns and some unexpected surprises kept me on my toes and I just love Raven and her relationships with her guys. There’s action, there’s emotions and it’s been one hell of a crazy rollercoaster ride but I’m glad I jumped on!
Definitely recommend giving this series a read because from start all the way to the last book you will be on the edge of your seat. Absolutely loved the book and how everything gets wrapped up in the end with all my questions answered. The characters were well written and the pace of the story line was perfect.
Dead Wolf Rising is the third and final book in Rory Miles Bad Moon Academy series. Things are about to pick back up where they left off with book two. Jinx is gone, but the magic holding them at the academy is still very much intact. Bea is missing and the threat of the returning “alpha” Peter is still there because he expects to come back to an empty academy...and that won’t be happening. Plus, there is the ever-present reminder that Death...will be returning as well. Dead Wolf Rising does deliver the HEA that author promises. Overall, there is closure more or less for the majority of the characters, but there are still questions that remain when it comes to a couple of the guys. The mystery that surrounds Bea is answered, later in the book, but I like how it comes together nonetheless. It does take some time to get there while Raven deals with her own issues and enjoys time with her men, but we get there. I just would have liked getting there sooner rather than later. The storyline is engaging and I love when some familiar names/characters make an appearance. To read my favorite vampire...so good! LOL! There has definitely been a lot of change going on and I have to say that I want to know more about it all. While Raven’s story may technically be over, the author drops some seriously heavy overtones that there is more to come with other characters and overall, I’m here for it. Now, while this book was a page-turner, had plenty of steamy to satisfy, and gives me that HEA promised...I’m not completely happy with this book. Early in the book things don’t flow as smoothly as they could have. There were some spots where I had to go back and reread because it reads as something got skipped over. It made me think of a DVD playing and then you hit a scratch and then the laser skips ahead to the next smooth section. These “scratches” in the storyline made it seem like I had missed something somewhere or that something was left out. My other issue with this book...the cockiness and the attitudes. It came off that there was a lot of junk measuring and it got annoying. When another bigger alpha shows up Raven thinks she can flex with her luna powers. Well...she gets put in check. They all do. But despite this try to flex. Sorry not sorry but once you’ve yielded...you don’t get to try and buck again. You just look stupid. Raven even trying to smile smugly just made her look juvenile. Then, once again, later in the book when Raven wants to think that she’d be able to kill this alpha if one of her guys decided to be stupid and get into a fight with him and got hurt? Yes, cue eye roll. All the alpha would have to do is bark and she’d submit. Unnecessary attitudes, double standards, and egos always annoy me, and the fact that this book ends up being top-heavy with all of the above deals this book a major blow in my opinion. I think that if this book had stayed focused on the main storyline and left alone the posturing, measuring, and unnecessary attitudes that this book would have been a great final addition to the series. As it is, the immaturity that shines through is a bit too much and causes this book to lose a star in my opinion. So, I’m rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. There are some interesting twists to this story, and bringing in familiar characters was an added bonus. So, if you’ve read the series to this point and enjoyed it, then I encourage you to read how it all ends. Just brace yourself for a lot of attitude that may make you wonder if they’re mostly all adults in this.
I absolutely love Raven and her men. This book was the perfect ending to this series. Nothing ever goes smoothly for them and they will face even more challenges in this book. Raven must learn to let go of things if she is going to love on with her life.
It's not that easy to write a review for this book and this series. I really loved the first book in the trilogy. The first book had amazing characters, a nice mystery and a brilliant kind of tension. However, the second book disappointed a little. I had trouble understanding what was going on and why and I had the feeling that the characters were way less important than the action and some so called shocking scenes. However, I was curious to read the last book, so I accepted the arc anyway.
I have to admit that the last book was also not what I had hoped it to be. It's not a bad book. There is a lot of action. All loose ends are tied up nicely. Every man in the harem gets his moment to shine and to share some intimate times with our heroine. And yet, yet I had to force myself to keep on reading, to make it through the book and to finish it. And I think it's not because the book is bad, but it's because the book and I are simply not a match.
I'm an emotion reader. I read for the characters. I read to feel something. The more complicated and interesting characters are, the more invested I am. The more character driven the story is, the more I love it. This book simply was too focussed on the plot, on the action, on the supernatural stuff going on. And personally I really missed the foundation for most of this. It didn't feel like I completely understood what was going on, what everyone's motivation was and what their goal was.
I assume that it's different if you read all Miles' books. This last book has a cameo of the Blood Maffia series and I have the impression that there might have been more cameos. I just didn't really recognize them as such, but it feels like I miss pieces of the puzzle to make this world make sense. I understand not every little detail of the mythology can be explained, but in this case it really felt like so much was happening and I never discovered why.
Since I had the same experience with the demon series by Rory Miles, I think this will be the last book by the author I read.
This series has been a ride. There were so many twists and turns I didn’t know what was happening or how things would end. After the last book, we are left with even more questions. I honestly didn’t know how Rory would be able to answer them all. But she not only give us the answers but she also did it without rushing the story. I loved how once one issue was solved I could do a mini celebration and then prepare for how the next one would go down. Up until the end, there was plenty of action and mysteries things to uncover.
Raven grew so much in this series. I am so proud of how strong she became. She was meant to be a luna. I am happy she found her guys and people she cared enough about to protect. All the guys fit her in different ways and I liked that she was able to have moments with each of them in this book. I know I’ve said this in the other reviews but I love Joann so much. I want a sassy wolf that I can joke with in my head. Okay, so that sounds crazy but you guys understand. I was intrigued by the new characters that popped up. Going to check and see if they were in another series so I can learn more about them. If not I’m hoping they get their own books. I’m definitely glad I picked up this series and will be reading her future books as well as her others.
First of all, there were a few cameos in this book from another of the author's series that I absolutely loved. And my favourite crazy vampire was one of them. There were a lot of twists and turns in this book and I have to admit the author managed to wrap everything up in a nice bow and tied up any loose ends that have been thrown at us throughout the series.
I will say I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as I did the first two in the series, but maybe that was just me. I had some bits where I was a little confused about what was going on and it definitely took me a little longer to read this one than it usually does.
I did however enjoy Raven and her guys developments throughout. They all really grow as characters, and I especially loved Bea. I honestly want to wrap that girl in bubble wrap and keep her safe from the world. Aunt Lou too, she's a fab character. I kinda wish we'd gotten a little more from Raven's mum, that scene to me felt a little rushed. Raven had an idea on how to save a certain someone and she'd already let another character go, so her mum was the next option but it seemed to be over very quickly.
Overall, I enjoyed the book but it wasn't my favourite in the series though as I said previously at least everything was tied up so there were no loose ends. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
There is just something so gratifying in seeing this series come to a close. Raven and her men are just delicious to read about. Not going to lie, I finished Dead Wolf Falling in kind if a meh mood but Rory Miles is spectacular.
Handling Jinx was an emotional hurdle I don't think anyone was truly prepared for and the repercussions were far more reaching than they expected.
Bea's disappearance is high on the list of worries and Death is knocking down the door. Mazzikin is starting more trouble and leaving extremely ominous messages while Raven just tries to take it one day at a time to care for her pack.
The spicy scenes are *chef's kiss* and the men really shine in this final installment in my opinion. This is where the depth really came into the relationships. I flove Draco so much.
Lou is a freaking superstar aunt. She deserves all the silver foxes her bed could handle.
The guest appearance by Evelyn, Demi, and the men folk is great and also hilarious 😅
These characters just grab ahold of you and take you for the ride of your life.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "DEAD WOLF RISING" What an epic conclusion to this excellent series you don't want miss it's a rollercoaster ride of emotions, hot steamy scense, intrigue, suspense, angst, humor, twists that have you turning the pages. Raven a medium, a wolf shifter, sees dead people her harem of men Brayden, Draco, Everett, Carter & Alder are all still stuck at the Academy trying find a way out while looking for Bea. Raven & her guys find a secret room with an altar in the middle with stained blood then guess who shows up Death of all characters wanting to know more about Raven she's nervous he's there. Raven & her men have make Bad Moon Academy safe for her & the wolves so much happens along the way will they get their HEA you have to get this amazing epic conclusion to this series to see how it all turns out. I definitely recommend I loved Raven her wolf Joan was an absolute hoot love her comments her men Brayden, Draco, Everett, Carter & Alder were awesome characters so well worth the read it won't disappoint looking forward to what Rory Miles writes next.
I am really going to miss Raven and Joan, and well maybe her guys too. This series has been a wild ride from the beginning and did cause me to spiral a bit over the cliffhanger in Dead Wolf Walking, but it was all worth it.
Raven has grown so much since we first met her. She has had to deal with a lot of ups and downs, but she has embraced her luna position and accepted all of her mates the way a true luna should. Her harem is one of my favorites. They all fit her in a way that makes her and their pack complete. Their relationships have evolved and have grown into her family.
Joan is definitely a highlight for me. The banter that her and Raven carry on in Raven's head cracks me up. I have laughed and I am glad that Joan finally go to bite someone on the ass 🤣🤣
Since this was my first series by Rory, I am going to have to go back and read the series of a character that popped up in this one. I am intrigued by her. I hate that this series is ending, but I loved every minute of it. Amazing series, characters, world building, all of it.
I was so not ready for this series to end!! It was an incredible read and I loved how in this book you got some cameo's of character's from a previous series that I LOVED!!!
We start off right where the last book left off and my heart seriously breaks for Raven. However we are shown another villain in this book that is going after Raven and Braydon. It is up to Raven and her men to make Bad Moon Academy safe for her new pack and make it better for changed wolves. There is plenty of steam in this book and we get more personal time with each of the men. With that being said there is also plenty of moments where they are truly fighting for their lives.
Rory did an incredible job concluding this series and I loved how much Raven has grown throughout this series. I cannot wait to see what else Rory has in store for us because there were quite a few hints as to what's to come in this book. If you haven't picked up this series yet it is a must!!
This was the perfect conclusion to this wildly entertaining series! I fell in love with these characters, Especially Raven. We got to see so much growth within her from the first book to this last one and it was beautiful. I loved watching the relationships develop not only between Raven and the guys, but between all the guys too. There is a lot happening in this book, we finally get some answers, there is drama and mystery, battles and of course some spicy spice. The character development in this series was phenomenal and I absolutely loved the concept. This series has a really solid plot. The story itself was really well told. It flowed well , it was perfectly paced. I also loved that we got to see a few characters from the other series! It was really fun to see them interact! While I am a bit sad to see these characters' story end, I am excited to see what Rory treats us with next!
I’m so sad this series is finished!!! No more sassy ads Hoan 😩 but its been a fantastic series and this is one rollercoaster end to the trilogy 😍
There’s plenty of moments for Raven, you seriously wonder how many more knocks the girl can take, there’s moments with her men, particularly with Brayden, and then with Brea, and couple of others so be prepared for 💔
In between all the fighting for their lives and action the harem do manage some sexy times and hot dammnnn it’s goooood 🔥
There’s some new players as well that totally throw a curveball in but overall this final piece addresses all the ‘questions’ or issues (such as Ravens powers, the alpha of the pack, the ‘big bad’) that have been raised in the first two books.
A terrific trilogy that twines elements of horror, comedy and feels together smoothly! 💗
Raven and her men, Brayden, Draco, Adler, Everett, and Carter are all back, along with their pack, in this third and final book of the Bad Moon Academy Series. Their goals, Bring back Bea, escape Bad Moon Academy, and decide what comes next!
The storyline, the world building, the characters, the writing, it is all phenomenal! I especially love how the author injects humor into tense, emotional, or action packed scenes, adding extra dimension to those scenes. It is fabulous! And those sexy scenes! They are off the charts HOT!
I also loved the crossover characters from Rory Miles Blood Mafia Series! These books are set in the same “world” and it’s amazing how their stories are intertwining. You do not have to have read The Blood Mafia series to understand what’s going on, but it is an incredible series and I highly recommend it, as well as this series!
3.5 stars I loved book 1 in this series, book 2 was OK, and book 3 was kind of in-between. Raven finally gets a grip on what is happening at the Academy - but for me it was all over the place, and I don't think I fully understood what was going on sometimes. The guys and Raven are all working as a team to help free everyone from the grounds, and remove Jinx. I liked Raven as a character, she was determined to free everyone. But her powers started to become whatever they needed to be in order to get what she wanted. The book felt like it was in three parts, the beginning where they try and reclaim the academy, the middle where Raven tries to save everyone close by using her powers, and then the end where everything starts to slot into place. I enjoyed the Blood Mafia cameo, and the ending suited Raven and the guys.
What an amazing conclusion to this unique story! Book 3 started off right where the last book ended and charged ahead with vivid action and heartwarming moments alike. Raven and her men were faced with yet another upheaval to their lives, but knew that staying together was their best option to come out ahead. I loved seeing their dynamic as a group, and their private moments of bonding with Raven too. Facing off with new and old foes, we got to see Raven shine as a Luna to her pack and fully accept the past, and embrace a new future with her pack at her side. This book tied off all the loose ends from the series, but left enough mysteries unanswered for the shared world of the author to expand. You could read it without reading the rest of the author’s work and still have a fully satisfying story. I throughly enjoyed this series and hope to read more from the author! 💜
It's an ok series, Joan really carries the story. I'm surprised she didn't want to name the thing Pack Peen.
My biggest criticism is that the MC's addiction to alcohol felt like such a surface trait to me, only really coming up when convenient. Nothing about her behaviour made me believe that she actually had an addiction. Hell, in the second book she does drink alcohol and there are no real repercussions. The only time she struggles, her wolf just attacks the thought and... voila? It's all gone? As someone with addiction it felt wholly alien from what I experience. It was also really odd that she never told the guys, but at some point in the plot they suddenly knew about it? YMMV with this aspect of the character obviously and one person's experience with addiction won't be the same as another's. It just disappointed me.

Super steamy and emotional conclusion to this trilogy!
I absolutely love Rory’s fun and addictive writing style and how it compliments the ideas behind the worlds she creates! Adored the character crossovers in this book too, and I’ll say again, I really enjoyed how necromancy was entwined throughout this series.
All the loose ends were so well tied up and I’m so happy how things worked up for Raven and her harem! Rory captured Raven’s own healing journey and acceptance of herself and what she’s been through really well which made this story all the more emotional.
The only loss of a star for me was because I found it a bit difficult to differentiate between the male POVs throughout the book.
Raven, medium and newly turned wolf, has defeated an evil spirit keeping them tethered to the Academy grounds but not the wards or the reason for them with the help of her harem of guys: Everett, Draco, Brayden, Carter, and Alden. As the story progresses progress is made, new friends arrive as the search for old friends continues, and the final battle may not be as simple as laid out. Rory Miles left the reader with plenty to think about while giving Raven her happy ending. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Miles has in store for the next series set in this world.
I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
I’m so sad that this series is over but it sure has been one hell of a wild ride which I have loved every second of. Raven has grown so much throughout the series and she has finally found where she belongs. I love how fiercely Raven fights for the people she cares about and how she never backs done no matter what happens. I definitely think that her mates have made her so much stronger not only physically but also emotionally and mentally.
I just want to give a shoutout to Joan because she always had Raven’s back and she was the light that helped her get through the darkest times. Joan was absolutely hilarious and definitely stole the spotlight most of the time.
This was the perfect way to end the series and I loved seeing where everyone was months later.
This was a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, I love how the author tied up all the loose ends. She even added little conclusions that I hadn’t thought of and made me think that there could be some spinoffs. I especially like the little cameo/cross-over from her blood mafia series. Kind of like a little extended epilogue/gave us a little extra.
The story started where book two ended and we went right back into the action. A lot really did happen in this book but it all happened at a really good pace, it didn’t feel rushed. Something was always happening, and the author definitely increased the amount of steam in this one as well.
A satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. Can’t wait for the author’s next series.
This action-packed finale nicely wraps up the story of Raven, a powerful luna of her own pack - a pack not consisting of wolf shifters only. There are many exciting moments and the scenes really flow at amazing tempo, though sometimes at the cost of not going deeper into the emotional dimension of the characters. I even felt at a few moments the story is chaotic and I am losing connection - but always found my way back. Every men in the harem got his own space for development, showcasing his strengths and personality, as well as some time to connect with Raven on deeper level. There was enough steam to spice up the story, and I also appreciated the moments when characters from Blood Mafia series appeared.
