She wants her freedom and all I want is her…

Nicole DeLuca, she’s the daughter of the biggest crime boss on the west coast. Did I mention that her father, Gino DeLuca, is my enemy?

I slept with Nikki and I can’t for the life of me forget about her. I’ve been keeping tabs on her, making sure no other men come anywhere near her.

I’ll chase them away like the beast that I am to protect her.

Like a caged bird, she’s desperate for freedom. Nikki sneaks out only to get snatched and sold as a bride.

Even in the darkest room, the dirtiest corner of the world, I recognize her. She’s my little dove.

I buy her. Own her. Save her.

Except she doesn’t see it that way…

She wants her freedom and all I want is her and that baby.

This dark mafia romance is the first in the Mafia Marriages series and can be read as a standalone.

The only good thing about this book was the idea of the storyline, which hundreds of other authors have already come up with in one way or another. The MC Nikki is fucking annoying, childish and let’s be honest a fucking dumbass. Nothing likable about her and Dante’s decisions are right up there too. Only thing worse is this authors sense of time—they have sex and a few days later they can tell she’s pregnant from a urine pregnancy test 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and can see on ultrasound?!? Give me a fucking break. If you add in 4-6 weeks to the timeline sure, but I didn’t get that from the book. Just…ugh…never again. Time wasted. Rushed, sloppy, mess.

It was ok

I binged reading this book. Only because I had some time to kill.
I felt like it had the potential to be great but it really lacked something. Not only that the female lead was so bratty. It felt immature and rushed. I won’t be reading any more books from this author. Much better mafia stories out there, sorry.

I should’ve heeded the warnings in the reviews. The plot was all over the place. The female lead was silly. I couldn’t take anything seriously yet there were serious plot topics. DNF after 34%.

It was an okay read for me. Initially, it did look interesting but, then I found it average as I kept on proceeding. Anyway, good that it has HEA.

So the storyline of this book is pretty interesting but predictable. However, it did keep me interested enough to binge the rest of the book. I liked it!

Has the possibility for a fantastic story line, but needed so much more to make it that way. Alot of their relationship makes no sense due to the extremely fast pace of the book and how short it was.

Losing her isn’t an option. Not now. Not ever.

This crazy story follows Dante and Nikki and even crazier mob family drama. Was it the best? No. Was it even good? No. Am I reading the next book? Yes. Listen I didn’t say it wasn’t entertaining. It was just all right but I’m hoping the next book is better. There’s a nanny position and OMGOODNESS I need a bodyguard book. Great literature it was not. An easy read with some good sexy times it was.

Meh...

Usually I don't post negative comments because I feel everyone should experience a book for themselves. If I like the book, I'll go ahead a leave a positive review. If I don't, I just stop reading it and leave it as is. With this book I couldn't get past chapter 13 and that was because I was hopeful it would pick up. The begining storyline just doesn't make sense. The main characters are not fully developed. Female main character has freedom to go wherever she wants without a guard and so happens to meet the main male character at a bar/nightclub and is also her father's enemy. The main female character is sold by her father to the highest bidder but yet her father demands that the main male character marry her if he purchases her?! All of this is done because she doesn't listen to her father when he tells her she will have an arranged marriage and her father wants to teach her a lesson?! It just seems to lack plot.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Secret Vow is a mafia romance between Dante and Nicole. Nicole is the daughter of Dante's enemy. She knows Dante's name. but not his face. An attempt to escape her controlling father leads to a bar hookup with Dante or "Daniel" as he calls himself. Nicole's father sells her as part of a human trafficking ring for punishment and Dante "buys" her to rescue her.

I feel like this story has a lot of good things about it, but it just seems like it isn't quite finished. I like how the story started right away with Dante's POV to set up the story. There is a great amount of detail with Dante finding and saving Nicole and them setting up their live together. These two sizzle and are on fire every time they are in the same room together. There's excellent development of the back story and an appropriate amount of tension between the warring crime families.

What I'm missing is their big connection. The climax of the story still feels like the beginning for them. I don't see where they fall in love or how they really choose to be together. The end feels very rushed and I was honestly expecting a cliffhanger because I didn't feel like their story had finished. That said, I'd still be interested to read the next book in the series!

Got me through some training.

Nikki (Nicole) acted like a child, the entire story. Being a mafia boss's daughter gave her no propensity for self-preservation or critical thinking.

She's always had a horrible relationship with her father, who wants to marry her off, but she doesn't believe he'd do anything to harm her, i.e. have her killed. He doesn't like you or any of the decisions you've ever made. Why would you ever feel safe with him?

This is a well written book with a cast of strong characters centering on Nicole and Dante. The author does a fantastic job developing the story and pulled me in with all the drama and suspense as well as the chemistry between them. She brings intrigue as they come together. Her scenes are painted vividly and the story flows fluidly. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

This is the first book I've read from this author. I love mafia romances, and I have never read one quite like Secret Vow. This twist in this story is excellent, and I did not expect or anticipate the turmoil the heroine experience.
In Secret Vow, Dante and Nicole meet at a bar own by him, and they are immediately attracted to each other and hook up. Unbeknownst to Nicole, she hooks up with the Don of the Ricci crime family, her father's enemy .

Nicole desperately wants her freedom and naively assumes she can do what she wants. Well, that was foolish of her given that her father is the Don of the DeLuca crime family . Due to her rebellious behaviour, her father wants to get rid of her by any means necessary.

The story flowed nicely, the writing was great, and I did not expect the plot twist 😲 The drama and suspense created a fantastic build-up. The story was a bit rushed at certain points, and it was just missing something. It was not rough or gritty, and I had a tough time connecting to the characters.
I am not opposed to an instalove relationship, but the relationship between Dante and Nicole was one-sided. Yes, they were attracted to each other, but there was no undeniable strong connection between the hero and heroine.

I enjoyed the story, love the plot (I was not expecting Gino, Nicole's dad, to have her abducted, trafficked and sold) but did not like the main character as much. Nicole was too annoying and naive for my liking (Her father is a Don, for christ's sake) , and Dante was not a ruthless or callous Don, which was disappointing. He was not cold-hearted, murderous, vicious, or even brutal.

ARC provided in exchange for my honest review.

What drew me to the book was the head of the Ricci family, Dante, getting involved with his enemy’s daughter. Nikki. Nikki’s father was the Don of a mafia family that trafficked humans and Dante wanted to take them down.

The mafia goodness in this story is a feisty Mafia princess and devilishly handsome yet unattainable Don. There is kidnapping, betrayal, tragedy and unwanted arranged marriage.

While this is the first book in the series it has a connection to another series I didn’t read. It felt like I was missing something in the story. It unfolded in a linear fashion, but not that smoothly.

This is my voluntary review from an advance copy I received.

Better than expected

I loved the Eagle Tactical Series so much that even though I was hesitant to read this story it was better than expected. I did have to skip the sex scenes because this type of dominance is too much for me. Knowing there are individuals who like that doesn’t allow me to criticize or demean those parts. If you’re like me skip those parts and immerse yourself in the beauty of the rest of the story and if you don’t mind those parts enjoy the entire story.

Not the best.

I was looking forward to reading this book, I was sorely disappointed. The story had little merit and the timeings for the pregnancy did not make any sense at all. The characters were unbelievable and not in a good way. In summary i. Would not recommend this book to anyone. The writing is bad and the editing is even worse.I'm sorry to be so negative but you do ask for honest opinions.

This book was incredibly hard to get through and I only finished it because I hate not finishing a book once I start it. I felt like it was written at an elementary school reading level and the characters functioned at about the same level. Zero character development they just were immature from start to finish and the entire story was rushed. Main characters acted so foolishly I found myself getting annoyed. Just all out bad in my opinion.

Very predictable, not really memorable characters, and was boring. I liked her other stuff. It had a lot more depth and more vivid writing. I'm very disappointed in this book and not sure I will continue the series. Everything felt way too fast. There was no development of the relationship between Nikki and Dante. And that made the rest of the book fall so flat. It was hard to even connect or like Nikki. She was so shallow and no development to her and the same with Dante.

Heroine was naïve and dumb. She also had a major daddy complex always thought her dad was to good for everything 🤷🏾‍♀️. Between the hero and the heroine was no literally no connection. This book started off strong and could have been so good but really like REALLY disappointed 🤷🏾‍♀️

Tal vez un 2.3
Un libro de mafia más, no hay mucho que decir, la trama es lineal. Todo es predecible y lo que no, es más por juego del guión para pintar al protagonista como bueno.

I love dark mafia romances. The start of the book was really great but I think towards the end everything was really fast. The story could easily be divided into a duet. There was so much potential. Also somehow I loved Moreno more than Dante. I was waiting for this story to end so I could go and read it.

Will I recommend this book?

--If you want a quick spicy read,  yeah go for it. But don't have very high hopes!

I don't mind insta-love or obsession in mafia romances. But Nikki was acting a lot childish for me. Even Dante was acting childish sometimes even for a mafia Don. Moreno was thinking a lot like an adult for Dante. Nikki's dad Gino "the villain of the story" was very underdeveloped. Why he was acting like that towards his daughter Nikki, I don't understand. Mostly mafia's protects their daughters but he was like putting her for an auction so she can get scared and not escape?? and somehow after putting her to slavery dungeon, he agreed to sell her to their enemy "with marriage"?? Like how and why? It was half a paragraph and the deal was done. Where is the mafia war? Also he died in a paragraph not a chapter and he died fade-to-black. He was the main villain. You can't kill him outside the pages. His death needs to have an effect on Nikki or the story. Nikki had a fight with her father. We really don't know why. Where is her mother, we also don't know.

And the book ends with Moreno having a girlfriend and there is a mention of a wedding. There were too many plot holes. It was like the book was written just for spice :(

I also read the second book and let me write to you about this. Moreno's book - second book - isn't starting where this one ended. Starts out of the blue with his wife dead and he has a daughter, also he is looking for a nanny. The story is about Moreno and the nanny. Weird but okay. I also have a couple things to say but I will tell them in their book :)

I hate giving less than 4 stars for any book but I have to admit I almost DNF'ed this one a few times. The hero wasn't bad but the heroine, Nikki, was so stupid. She drove me insane. This review is NOT SPOILER FREE!!!!!!

Nikki's father was a mafia Don. Dante was his arch enemy and also a mafia don. Nikki goes out to a club and see's Dante. Sits on his lap in the club with Dante's cock inside of her. Yes people they had sex right there at the table.

..
..
..
Nikki's father tells her she must get married to whoever he says and she refuses. Dante bugs the father's office. The father has his own daughter kidnapped and taken to an auction. He is a sex trafficking a$$ho!e. He sells his own daughter. Dante shows up to rescue her and also buys her. The father tells him if he marries her and doesn't tell her he's the one who had her kidnapped and sold that Dante can have her.

Dante takes Nikki home , finds out she's pregnant with his child. Tries to leave but Dante keeps her prisoner to keep her safe. The dumb nut doesn't care that she's pregnant. She has also been poisoned by her father. Dante has a Dr come in and try to save her and this moron won't swallow the pills. She doesn't believe her father would have done this even though he has shown her time and time again that he has no morals. He treats her badly, is marrying her off, sells her at an auction, trafficks CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!! as well as women. He is trying to make her marry someone of his choosing. I mean this girl is braindead. She drove me insane. Then she keeps saying but father wouldn't do this. Papa wouldn't do this. He would bail me out. He would save me.

Ughghghghghgh she runs home to Papa and Dante has to rescue this girl again. I give up. If I were rating this book on Nikki alone I would give it 0 stars!

Nikki is the daughter of a mafia don, who has recently come home from college. She is headstrong and doesn’t like the idea of being forced into an arranged marriage, so she tries to run and it eventually gets her into an unfortunate situation where a rival don finds her and gets her out of it.

Dante is that rival don and he takes Nikki home after somewhat rescuing her.

This story was both interesting to me, and completely far fetched. I was able to get invested into the lives of the characters, however the storytelling was a little bit hard to follow at times. The timeline jumps around a bit, sometimes unrealistically and without any warning. The main character, Nikki, is a college graduate in elementary education but had no logical thought process for a mature woman. She was more like a petulant teenager, immature, naive, and impulsive. I wanted to smack her myself a few times, haha!

I know she was meant to be somewhat innocent and naive because she was sheltered, but the person that was portrayed in a bar at the beginning, then as a captive and with Dante seems to lose brainpower as the story went on.

There isn’t a lot of the mafia action in this story, even though they are mafia. It’s more, they are in the mafia but the story is about them and not their mafia activities other than to push the storyline along, if that makes sense. Most of the story takes place in a home.

The Q Fever storyline was interesting but when I looked that up it didn’t seem as dangerous as it was written, other than how it would affect a pregnancy.

The ending seemed rushed, and honestly I didn’t see enough to make the relationship seem like it would end up the way it did.

This is good for a quick read, but if you’re looking for an epic story this isn’t it.

Mafia age gap romance

Nikki is the daughter of a Don who is the enemy of Don Dante Ricci and when Dante sees Nikki dancing in his club he decides to make a move on her.
They have sex in his booth but she then steals his car keys as little does he know she had just ran away from her father after he told her she would be forced to marry someone he chose.
However her father realises she is going to be a pain so he arranges to have her kidnapped and kept captive with his other trafficking victims but while she is there he has her poisoned.
Nikki was annoying to me and very immature, she talked about growing while she was away at college and if is her grown I would hate to see what an immature brat she was beforehand.
However even when Nikki is shown evidence her father did it all to her she is so pathetic she still blames Dante.
While Dante may be the Don of the Ricci’s and has in all sense and purposes killed many people he did nothing but try to protect her.
I do love a good mafia with a dark alpha Don but I am sick of seeing pathetic women who the alpha’s fall in love with.
The part with the pill was just so childish it was ridiculous, she is gagging from him forcing her to take a pill she thinks he may be giving to her to damage him when 30 seconds later she is mentally undressing him and then they are having sex…..
Nope just nope that just wouldn’t happen.
Dante talks about her spark but what spark she was a pathetic wimp who was far too immature to ever be with Dante if I’m being honest.
It took her until Romano told her what her father did to believe anything she is just too naive or stupid especially in the world she grew up in.
Dante is the reason I have given a 4 star rating but if I was basing it on Nikki alone it would have been 2 stars.

There are genres that I can read without getting bored.
Mafia books are one of them. I love a good mafia book and when the opportunity aroused for me to read this book I didn't hesitate.
It's a double risk.
One, it's a new author.
Two, I'm going in blind.
The blurb spiked my curiosity so why not.
Willow Fox is a new author to me and let me just say that I want more books from her. Oh yeah.
Her writing is raw and wild, intense with a touch of darkness.
Secret Vow is the book in question and explores the lives of Nicole and Dante.
Nicole aka Nikki is the daughter of the biggest crime boss. Because of this, she is well guarded.
She's always trying to escape and one of those times she meets Daniel aka Dante and they had a one-night stand.
She thought that she wouldn't see him again but when she's sold to a trafficking ring...
Dante's purpose is to end a Don from a rival family.
What he wasn't counting on was the beautiful and sassy daughter of the said Don.
After one night with her, he knows that he wants her bad.
When he buys her...
Oh, I loved this book.
Great plot, well written, super dark and intense.
I loved the way the story progressed.
It had darkness, danger, and hot stuff into the mix.
The characters worked perfectly with each other and you will fall in love with them.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone silly, jeez, stubborn much?
But there were others that I wanted to hold them and promise better days.
I loved the danger in between the lines. Love that darkness and I want more.
Great book Willow. I loved it.
Can't wait to read the next book from this series.

Tosco.
Não é ruim, só tosco, mal feito e apressado. Sem cuidado com os detalhes. Só empilhado de qualquer jeito.
É um espin-off e faz referência a outra série.
Dante, entra no leilão e a leva.
