Also known as the “Little Dragon”, Bruce Lee’s story is about a man who confronted the divisive and entrenched societal beliefs of his generation head-on. With relentless persistence and unwavering fortitude, he overcame racism and ostracism through martial arts and acting, bridging the gap between Western and Eastern cultures. His strength and dedication to his craft bears testament on how commitment and passion can change the world as we know it!
I received a gifted copy of this book via the author to read in exchange for an honest review.
Bruce Lee is an amazing addition to this series of biographies for children. The book begins from when Bruce Lee was a young boy and spans over his life and the amazing things he overcame such as discrimination, bullying, criticism and misunderstanding. Bruce Lee started out in acting at just 3 months old (which I never knew) and when he became a teenager he discovered martial arts which is what he became most famous for. Sadly Bruce Lees films were not very popular until after his death but through Bruce Lee the world learned not only martial arts, but about Asian culture too. This book has amazing illustrations and a wealth of knowledge for children to learn about in an interesting and fun way which is also inspirational and encouraging of their hopes and dreams.

Thank you to Inspired Inner Genius for this copy of your newest book in your Inspired Inner Genius line, Bruce Lee! I really enjoyed reading and learning more about the legend that is Bruce Lee. My SO is a big Bruce Lee fan and watches all of his movies. In fact, he’s actually told me a lot of the information that I found in this book before! He was a fascinating person who pushed boundaries and included others after being excluded himself. I really admire the way he bridged these two cultures together in a way that we still see today. It’s unfortunate that he lost his life at such a young age, but he accomplished much in his time on earth.
I have reviewed and posted about all of these books. Bruce Lee's story is the latest in the children's biography series and it definitely continues to keep the same standard I've come to expect from these books.
I knew abit about Bruce Lee and his life, but it was nice to find out a few new facts and he is a good figure to be in one of these books.
This has colourful illustrations, some great facts and information, and if you like biographies and inspiring role models then this is one to add to your reading piles.
Highly recommended, and I am looking forward to the next book from Inspired Inner Genius 😃
I have to say this is my favorite book in the series! I had a good friend in college who was a big Bruce Lee fan so I ended up watching his movies and appreciating his skill!
I think it’s so wonderful to bring Bruce Lee to this next generation through the inspired inner genius books!
In the photo my grandson who is nine years old was very captivated with the book. We usually take a picture of his favorite page. He liked learning about all the movies Bruce Lee was in! He was surprised to learn that Bruce Lee was in a movie at three months old!
My daughter had some thoughts on the book as well as she often reads these books to my grandson at bedtime. He can read them on his own and often does according to both his parents.
My daughter didn't know that Bruce lee changed Kung fu and taught others his style! And then faced prejudice from both races in his life. So sad humans can't be more understanding. I agree with my daughter. I was really impressed that he put so much into kung fu and sharing it with others. I was saddened as well about the discrimination he had to live with throughout his short life.
As always with these books, the illustrations really depict the story very well. The covers are my favorite! And this cover is no exception!
Well written and researched. The black-and-white photo at the end with his biography always adds to the book. Nice to see a real life photo!
Another brilliant book in this fantastic series of biographies for children. This latest one is about Bruce Lee and it was great to learn about how started off being so misunderstood but became such an icon, building a bridge between Asian and American cultures.
Bruce Lee is such an exciting character and there are many great things to take away from his life's work. My boys really enjoyed this one and enjoyed learning about somebody in such a different career.
I love that these books include a glossary to help children improve their vocabulary and a real-life image at the end with even more interesting facts.
I'm having a lot of fun teaching my 4-year-old about these iconic historical figures, although the books are aimed at ages 5-10.
They have such a diverse set of muses, too, from Anne Frank to Steve Jobs, and are a great way to introduce non-fiction to young ones.
If anyone asked me before reading this what Bruce Lee done I would have told them he was an actor, but now I know he was so much more than that.
From acting from just 3 months old to becoming a teacher before going back into acting. He inspired so many people and taught them that martial arts is not all about the physical fight but also the internal mental balance and attitude.
It is such a shame Lee was not recognised before his death.
The colourful illustrations in this book really brings the story to life, showing what an all round great person Lee was, not only for his acting. He showed people that martial arts was not just for one culture but for everyone.
Again with the glossary at the back of the book helping to learn new words and there meanings.
These books are aimed at children but are enjoyable and educational for all ages.
