Amazingly Wonderful Mafia story
Oh my I really loved this book, I had been waiting for its release and as soon as it was available I got and read it right away. I think it is a wonderful story, this book is the last volume in the series and I have always wanted the H to be able to have the h, because I knew he had been in love with for years. However because he was only a Capo who worked for her father and her brother, he didn't think he would ever be able to have her and even though the h loved him with all her heart, she didn't think she could ever have him. Only it turns out that both of their dreams come true and there is wonderful HEA at the end.

Yeah! I finished this one! This series has been hit or miss with me. The stories have raged from a great love story with kink to extreme kink which just seemed like abuse. This was a love story with kink. A good love story with all the mafia feels: mafia princess, drama, violence, and an outsider.
Dimitri was very alpha and like to punish disrespectful princesses. I liked him! Angelique got on my nerves a tad.

This is the last story in the Merciless Kings series. We met Angelique throughout the other stories prior when her brothers met their One. Angelique and Dimitri were in love with each other for years but never could act on it because of their different ranks within the Mafia. But a dangerous encounter and everything changes. Steamy, dark, twisted with action and violence but with a HEA. 😍😍😍Dark mafia story with a bit kink and no cheating 👍👍

King's Temptation is the final installment in the Merciless Kings series. This is Dimitri and Angelique story. Book one through five featured the five King brothers each dominant, and ruthless alpha male and the women who captured their hearts. This book is about the mafia princess of the bunch. Angelique has led a shelter life away from her family life of crime. She was was raised a true mafia princess one surrounded by constant guards twenty four seven as the only surviving sister of the powerful King brothers. She was very resentful of her brothers and the entire King name because of their reputation. Angelique could not understand their over protectiveness. But ever since the loss of their sister Bella things had changed in the King family forever. However, Angelique had this defiance and fierceness about her that she liked to push people's buttons. There were rule set in place by the Kings one: Stay away from the family's. Two: Stay alive no at all cost. However, from the first day that teenage Angelique saw Dimitri Kristoff it was something about him that drew her to him in spite of the rule. Dimitri was a member of the Russian Bratva for Don Doskolov. He was ruthless, brutal and sadistic. Dimitri moved from Russia and pledged his alliance to Sylvester King the family's patriarch. He worked over the years as a loyal soldier protecting the family with his methods of savagery, cruelty, life ending as well as his knowledge of organized crime. He rose up from foot soldier was promoted to capo when Cristiano King took over as the new boss for the King's empire after Sylvester retired.
Angelique had always flirted with Dimitri from a distance but he knows his place as soldier and any act on his part could only leads to his death. She was a forbidden fruit, a taboo and he wasn't going to open pandora box. It was Angelique night to shine at the opening of her new gallery. Everyone was there all the family, all the who is who in the art world, politicians, and the rich. Angelique had gotten her gallery open with the King's money and she was very proud. However, when a shooting erupt killing several guests including Giancarlo Azzurri one of the brother of the second crime family who rules New Orleans it triggered a turf war between the families. Dimitri and Angelique was thrown together when Cristiano asked him to take Angelique and protect her at all cost. Dimitri and Angelique was forced to go on the run when Antonio Azzurri soldiers tried abduct her. He scoured the city in search of Angelique because he wanted and arranged marriage to join the families together. But Antonio also had other nefarious ideas for the King family. As the story evolves and the plot thickens tension heightens and the attraction between the two becomes uncontrollable. They broke the rule and cross the line by their station in life but the two was never the same from their first encounter. All the years of wanting and resisting her was thrown by the wayside. He was savage but he claimed her because he believed that she rightfully belonged to him. Angelique is bratty, beautiful, and sensual. She spoiled and truly doesn't understand the weight of the Kings name and the danger that surrounds them even after the attempted abduction. Dimitri is handsome, dominant and broken and at times Angelique keeps him on his toes with her constant mischief and defiance. The family was never able to control her but a man Dimitri is perfect. They were fire and ice. She was the light to his darkness and he was devil in disguise. The sex scenes was explosive and electrifying.
King's Temptation was filled with drama, action pack, surprises, carnage, secrets, revenge, rivalry, deception, revelations, retaliation, lust, hatred, suspense danger, dominance, submission, abduction, betrayal, dirty talking, healing, love, spanking, passion. There were twists and turns with intense chemistry between the two characters. I was captivating from the start and to the finish. Ms. Piper did a phenomenal conclusion to this series I am sorry to see it end. King's Temptation was well written and easy to follow with clear plot line. It's a standalone but will be best if you read the series in order. The book is a mixture of the mafia violence infused with heartbreaking stories bad parenting, child neglect, and hardship. I especially was the ending of this book from soldier to King family member. Great love story.

This is the 6th and final installment of this series and one that I was so intrigued by from the beginning.
Because this book is not about any of the King brothers it is about their sassy outspoken sister Angelique.
You are introduced fleetingly to Angelique throughout the other books in this series and also the object of her desire Dimitri...but now we get to read the whole story behind their attraction.
Dimitri was brought into the Kings family by Sylvester when he was the boss,rescuing him from Russia and the horrors that he lived through there.
Now Sylvester has retired and Cristiano has taken over as boss Dimitri being recruited as Cristiano's Capo.
Dimitri has always wanted Angelique loving her from afar,because a relationship between them was forbidden.He wasn't good enough for Angelique,a union of any kind would not be excepted.
The first time Angelique layed eyes on Dimitri she was captivated by the big,strong ,stern Russian..she would flirt with him and wanted him just as much as she though he wanted her....But she knew if he crossed a line with her then he would be eliminated.
This story surprised me because I had a vision of a forbidden romance and Angeique and Dimitri being all lovey dovey and swoony....But Piper Stone flipped this story upside down...Because they are forever arguing and angry with one another...Which inevitably leads to great hate sex.!!!
A threat to the family and especially Angelique has Dimitri being her very own personal protector.
They have to go on the run and hide from the threat,as you can imagine the chemistry and anger between them builds up as they spend time together.
For the first time they are become close and get to know one another Angelique discovers all of Dimitri's secrets and pain and vice versa.
They are a match made in heaven and hell..Dimitri is so Alpha,so bossy and demanding pushing Angelique to do and say things she wouldn't normally do he makes her confront her sheltered pampered life.
Angelique pushes every single one of Dimitri's buttons making him wild and lose control,until he betrays his position within the King family by taking Angelique and making her his.
I loved this story it exceeded my expectations.
I listened to the audiobook of this story and Thomas Lockclear the king of narration was perfection once again.Performing as all characters with accents ,I still can't believe it is one man that is playing all these characters.He is just Excellent.
The ending to this story OMG was so emotional it brought tears to my eyes I was so happy that Dimitri found his happiness with Angelique.
Piper Stones writing is once again so compelling and her storytelling is compulsive reading/listening I am completely hooked.
Magnificent book.

“King’s Temptation” is the 6th book in the ‘Merciless Kings’ series of dark mafia romances by Piper Stone. The first five books in this series each featured one of the five King brothers in all their alpha, domineering glory. Now the only surviving sister in the family, Angelique, gets her turn in the spotlight. You can absolutely read this book as a stand-alone.
Angelique has been raised as a true mafia princess, even though she resents the gilded cage that is her life. She was in her teens when she first set eyes on Dimitri, a man who had moved from Russia to the United States and sworn his allegiance to her father and the King Family. Over the years he’s proven his fierce skills, valuable intelligence and complete loyalty. He has risen in the ranks to become the trusted right-hand man to her eldest brother, who was put in charge of the day-to-day functioning of the family so her father could step back a bit because of his advanced years. Angelique and Dimitri are each aware of the attraction that burns between them, and of the fact that they can never be together because someone in her position could never be with a soldier in the family, regardless of his rank. The plot evolves into an extraordinarily dangerous situation that raises the tension and the heat between them to unbearable levels. They cross the line drawn between them by their positions in life, and neither one of them will ever be the same. I wish I could tell you more about the plot, but I don't want to ruin it for you, so I'm trying to be very careful and avoid any spoilers.
This book is really a love story above everything else. It’s definitely brimming with mafia violence, serious domestic discipline, passionate and kinky encounters, painful memories, unexpectedly sweet words and a variety of authentic emotions. Both Angelique and Dimitri reveal things about themselves that are heartbreaking, and point out the truth that you should never judge somebody just by the façade they present to the world. I really loved the ending! If you read any of the other books in this series, you’ll recognize Angelique’s family members, who appear at different points throughout this story as secondary characters. Each book was entertaining in its own way, but I think this one was my favorite. There was also a plot twist having to do with Dimitri’s family, and I’m hoping the author will give us a book further exploring that subject.

King’s Temptation is the final installment in Piper Stone’s Merciless Kings series. In it, she chronicles the forbidden romance of Angelique King and Dimitri Kristoff. She is the only surviving sister in the King Crime Family. Like her brothers, she is a force to be reckoned with. Dimitri was a member of a Russian Bratva. Her father, Sylvester King, secured his freedom from a Russian prison years ago and gave him a place in the King Crime Family. Over the years he rose in esteem and position, becoming one of Cristano’s Capos. His main purpose is to make sure that the King siblings remain safe. His prime responsibility to protect Angelique. The antagonist, Antonio Azzurri, resented his older brother, Giancarlo. He arranged for Giancarlo’s murder as he attended a gallery exhibit at Angelique’s art gallery. This treacherous act begins an onslaught of attacks on the King family orchestrated by Antonio. Antonio wants to possess Angelique. His intention is to gain entry into the King enterprise through a marriage to her. However, Dimitri and Angelique fall in love. Can Dimitri keep her safe? Will Antonio’s actions be thwarted? Can Angelique and Dimitri find happiness? How will her brothers react to their romance? To find out, you must read this book.
Piper Stone does a great job with this crime family romantic suspense. I appreciate her technique of using a two-prong plot. One prong is their romantic journey. The second prong is one of suspense and mystery in the life of crime families. Her rich conversational and internal dialog reveals Angelique and Dimitri’s backstories. The use of a dual point of view to illuminate their hopes and vulnerabilities is strategic Ms. Stone’s use of descriptive language paints vivid and memorable scenes like the ones wherein Dimitri fights to keep Angelique safe. Through these literary devices, Ms. Stone captures her readers’ attention allowing them to feel like they are eyewitnesses to the inner workings and threats of a crime family. The sex is a bit raw. Despite that this was a captivating read.

King’s Temptation is the Sixth and final book in the Dark Mafia Romance series and its Angelique and Dimitri’s story. Dimitri has been connected with the King family from a young teenager sent from Russia to get him away from a life of horror, tragedy, prison time. The past several years he has been the oldest son Cristiano’s Capo and would give his life protecting the King family. Angelique is the youngest child and the only living daughter with five older brothers who have treated her as a Princess and is very spoiled and knows she gets anything she wants. Angelique and Dimitri have for a long time flirted from afar but Dimitri knows his place being Capo Angelique is absolutely off limits no matter what. Plus with his rough life he has and is living he considers himself a monster and not fit or capable of loving anyone. But all of a sudden they find themselves thrown together when another mafia leader decides he wants Angelique for himself and plans to take her any way necessary and at any cost to get her. But Dimitri will do everything within his power to keep her safe even give his own life. This story brings together the entire King family with ample amounts of action, suspense, drama, danger, deception, plus the author brings out the passion, and the off the chart chemistry and all of this while you are cheering and hoping for the ones that supposedly think they are bad guys. This being the final book of the series left off with a surprise ending. Even though this was a dark, rough series it is a fabulous addition to my library. I definitely recommend. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!

This is book is part of the Merciless Kings series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Angelique is a princess of the King family, she is spoiled, Rotten (with a capital R), rude sometimes but she is smart, feisty and will keep you on your toes. Dimitri is sexy as all get out loyal soldier, knows he shouldn’t even look at Angelique yet there is something that makes him want to take a bite of the forbidden. When a rival family targets Angelique, he will do whatever is needed and what he needs to do to keep her safe and protected. The chemistry is instant and intense, and the magnetic pull couldn’t be ignored, and Dimitri is the man to reel her in and he will ensure she love every second of it but is it enough can he keep her safe, will he protect her at all cost, how much trouble will he be in for being with her and can they find happiness? Buckle up this one is going to be a wild ride.

WOW, just WOW! This story of Dimitri and Angelique has me in tears. My emotions are all over the place! I absolutely loved this story and the ending was something I did not see coming! Dimitri is the King’s Capo and is strictly off limits to the Angelique as she is to him. Dimitri had a very hard life in Russia with some tragedy. Angelique is the “princess” of the King family. The only daughter who seems to be spoiled, can be ungrateful, but definitely has a thing for Dimitri. She’s also a fighter and wishes her family could see she is capable of taking care of herself. When another mafia family has their sights on Angelique, Dimitri will do everything he can to protect Angelique and keep her safe.
Angelique and Dimitri have to spend a lot of time together while trying to stay ahead of the other mafia family. They have this love/hate relationship going on. They both feel the connection between them, but know it is forbidden, until Angelique goes a little too far and Dimitri has to punish her. Oh, the sparks are flying. What a fantastic read
Dimitri is the Kings Capo. The kings family are not to mess with but Dimitri has a problem because he cannot keep his eyes off Angelique. She is the only daughter of this mafia family. Dimitri calls her his princess. When another Mafia family start to show their muscle it puts the kings on alert. Because this family want to form an alliance and the way to do this is for Angelique to marry Antonio. Dimitri won’t let this happen he will do anything to protect his princess.
Angelique is a Spitfire she is sassy and fierce! She will not want to back down and when that pig thinks that he could marry her to form an alliance she isn’t shy in saying what she feels. She’s had her eye on Dimitri for a while since they had a moment. She knows it can never go anywhere, she knows the rule you don’t cavort with the help. But when her life is put in danger Dimitris is the one who will protect her!!! This means they spend a lot of time together and Dimitri isn’t shy on giving out discipline when needed.
Wow the chemistry between these two is off the charts and the passion how the pages didn’t burn I have no idea but the storyline is good and there are twist and turns along the way but you cannot deny that these two are meant for each other absolutely brilliant read

Angelique is a Spitfire she is sassy and fierce! She will not want to back down and when that pig thinks that he could marry her to form an alliance she isn’t shy in saying what she feels. She’s had her eye on Dimitri for a while since they had a moment. She knows it can never go anywhere, she knows the rule you don’t cavort with the help. But when her life is put in danger Dimitris is the one who will protect her!!! This means they spend a lot of time together and Dimitri isn’t shy on giving out discipline when needed.
Wow the chemistry between these two is off the charts and the passion how the pages didn’t burn I have no idea but the storyline is good and there are twist and turns along the way but you cannot deny that these two are meant for each other absolutely brilliant read

Ms.Stone is the mistress of harsh stories where debts are paid in pain and the
innocent are taken. As with the previous books in this series there is a strong
mafia theme. This story was loaded with danger, action, angst, violence, and
a few surprises that I did not see coming.
I was riveted by this dark, decadent romance between the pampered princess
of the King family and a loyal soldier. Dimitri Kristoff knew that Angelique King
was forbidden fruit. She lived her life on her own terms until danger from a rival
family came knocking. I could not help but admire Angelique’s feisty nature, but she made Dmitri’s job of keeping her safe difficult at times.
Dimitri was dark and dangerous. He enanated raw potent power and was not
afraid to get his hands dirty. He was a complex man who carries emotional scars from his past. Can his knowledge of his enemies keep them one step ahead of
danger.
This story was full of passion and heat. The sexual tension between Angelique
and Dimitri was electric. She was fire to his ice. She was the light to his darkness.

Dimitri is Cristiano King's Capo. His job is to keep Cristiano alive, and when Cristiano assigns Dimitri to keep his only surviving sister alive when her life is threatened by a rival Mafia kingpin, that is exactly what he will do. Angelique has been in love with Dimitri since she first laid eyes on him, and has deviled him no end. He is in love with her, and will do what it takes, even if it involves spanking her into submission, to keep her alive.
This is the Grand Finale of the Merciless Kings Series, and wow, does the family go out with a bang! I did not see how Angelique and Dimitri would end up together, being that he as Capo was part of the family, yet forever apart. They do have an HEA, and their ending could not have been more beautiful. The entire series is tied up in the last chapter. This is a five star read that I would give six stars if I could. It's that good. It can be read as a stand-alone, but as good as the rest of the series is, please read them in order.

Piper Stone continues to deliver; she is talented with an incredible imagination and is not afraid to cross our delicate boundaries. King's Temptation is the sixth book and outstanding addition to the Merciless Kings series. The storyline was wholly engaging, intense, and riveting; a perfect blend of dark, steam, kink, suspense, action, danger, and romance. The character development is phenomenal; Dimitri and Angelique displayed layers of complexity and emotional depth. They're were the perfect match, their bond, the glue to put back their broken pieces and heal past scars. Chemistry was great, utterly electrifying, I was totally sucked into their journey.
Another stellar performance by Thomas Locklear. He embodied the characters and portrayed them flawlessly. I can't imagine anyone else narrating the series. Aside from having an attractive voice, he is talented and sounds believable in every role; I could easily picture the characters and follow the narrative. Overall, King's Temptation was a satisfying and enjoyable listen with quality narration, one I'll highly recommend.

Definitely a HEA ending…
Three and a half stars mostly for the book’s ending - probably 2 1/2 without as I found myself skimming parts that were repetitive and, frankly, boring - even the sexy scenes. MMC is growly, Russian and totally smitten with FMC. Sometimes it was hard to believe that this character would act against his life-long training and give in to his lustful fantasies. He was described as a sadist and as someone who was dark and a “bad man.” However, there was little true darkness on page so no worries if you’re worried about triggers. It was hard to like the FMC. At times it seemed she wasn’t sure if she was spoiled princess or strong independent woman. She often acted in ways I felt were inconsistent with someone raised in her world. She mostly seemed immature, willful and reckless. Hard to see her as the intense love interest she was supposed to be. That said, it was good to reach the conclusion of this family’s story even though it ended more on a fizzle than with celebratory fireworks.

I've enjoyed reading or listening to Pipers wonderfully dark romance stories for a long time, I especially like it when the characters are strong a trait mostly kept for the guys but not in this case. This one about Angelique and Dimitri is the Sixth and final book in the Dark Mafia Romance series, Merciless Kings. She's the younger sister of the five King brothers a true spoiled mafia princess and every bit as strong and stubborn as her brothers.
Dimitri has for the past several years been the capo for Cristiano, the eldest of the King brothers, he's fiercely loyal and would lay down his life for any one of the family. Although his connection to the King family goes back much further ever since he was sent from Russia to keep him safe. The connection which forms between him and Angelique is so well done, their chemistry is palpable - for me, this book ticks all the right boxes, it's everything you want in a mafia romance.

Book 6 in the series seemed to be a little different than the other five books. I know it was mentioned several times about how brutal and sadistic Dimitri was, but I thought he showed a softer side. His brutality seemed to extend to his enemies, as opposed to Angelique.
This book was full of action, and also left me with that "edge of your seat" sensation. There was violence, suspense, and the constant threat of Angelique being in danger from a truly dangerous, crazy person.
Even with all of that going on, I felt like this book had a much more romantic edge than the previous books. I also thought the last few chapters were pleasantly surprising. I only wish we could have had more information added to the end regarding the biggest surprise.

OH Piper I think this is one of the best stories I have read this year! Yes it is dark and Yes it checks all the boxes! Piper brings the dirty! and oh what a wash we will need once you finish this story! I love the kinkiness and passion you infuse your characters with it definitely shows in the writing! I love the Merciless Kings and want everyone to enjoy these stories! The range from vanilla to the very dark. It is dangerous to get hooked up with these dark characters. If you have the mindset to pick this up remember that there are triggers and it is dark. But if you do take a chance with these stories prepare to have your heart handed back to you broken, throttled, and used but in the most deliciously deceptive way.

Powerful angst and passionate unrequited love with all the action this story needs to keep its readers gripped by the the need for an HEA. I rooted for them to be together and I was so happy at the end when they did. Dimitri is capo for the King family and he longs for one woman; the only daughter of Sylvester King, head of the king family. She’s the baby and gets whatever she wants. Well what she longs for is the man who protects her, the man who will give his life for hers; she burns for Dimtri. The best part is when he finally opens up to her emotionally about his life and family; he finally tells her that her loves her knowing that the enemy is coming at the end; and when dad tells Dimitri that he knows the two are in love. Definitely worth the read.

Really good dark mafia romance. Angelique is the only surviving daughter of the King mafia family. She has been raised as a protected privileged princess, headstrong and independent. Dimitri is a Russian with a dark past, a self-proclaimed beast, without any redeeming qualities. But the attraction between them is red hot. He longs to have her under his domination and she resists but secretly desires his filthy appetites. When her life is threatened by a rival family who pulls out all the stops to capture her, Dimitri is ready to lay down his life to keep her safe. Dimitri is a wonderful character, tormented by his past in Russia and loyal to his current employer. And Angelique is the personification of the spoiled rich girl. The sex is spectacular. Great read in a great series

I'm not going to lie I did not like the first half of this book all because of Angelique. She acted like an entitled spoiled brat who hated her family. She kept trying to be "independent" and escape her guards in the middle of a war while some crazy guy was trying to abduct her. It was like she was so ditzy with an I don't care bout anyone attitude. It wasn't pretty. Then at about 50% in the book she started realizing she was acting childish and from there the book was perfect. It was hot as hell and the story plot was so much better all because the girl was growing up I guess. Overall I still feel like it's a must read if you've read the other books in the series. But I just couldn't take Angelique the first half

This is not a romance as such, but it is full of passion and love. This is the finale of the King family series and is about the daughter Angelique who has been so carefully protected by her family, especially since her sister was murdered. Dimitri is a Capo and as such cannot be involved with Angelique, but when she is in danger it is Dimitri the family entrusts with her safety. There is also a dog in this story that will steal your heart, Dax almost seems to understand English and is so protective. The ending to this story is everything you could want and there are a couple of surprises. This was such a good series and I am sad it is over, but I did enjoy it.

As always Piper writes a really hot story with rough sex and hard discipline. Being the only girl in the King family she always gets what she wants. You are a spoiled brat. Their adventure beings, Angelique wants normalcy to be able to move through her life without bodyguards and fear. Will she ever realize that it’s not possible? Does protection include hot sex and hard discipline? I enjoyed this book. It has a great story line with strong characters. If you have a soft heart this book may not be for you.

DNF 25% and that was pushing it!
It was bad enough the FMC was TSTL but I pushed through the beginning of the book! What a waste of time!! She totally lost me when the FMC literally gave her dog a whole paragraph of instructions to follow and the dog did it!!! Please! Just stop! I know it's fiction but that pushes beyond all possibility unless this was pnr and the dog was a Shifter!! It's not!! She told the dog to run down the street barking, stop and go silent, come back down a different street to evade the bodyguard and she'd pick him up down the block!!! Seriously?! Beyond ridiculous! Don't bother!

I have been waiting for this story since I read the first book in the series and it did not disappoint! Dimitri and Angelique's story has been building in each of the books and was just as hot as I was hoping. Angelique is an Mafia princess and Dimitri is her brother's capo and though he fights his attraction for Angelique it explodes sensationally in an action packed, steamy book his alpha protectiveness is in full force. It was an good way to end the series but I will miss the King family. Glad that these 2 got their happy ending.
