Carita Cove #5

The Whiskered Witness

Rate this book
Maggie's dog-training buddy drops off her German Shepherd for a play date–then disappears. Soon Maggie begins to wonder if her friend could be leading a deadly double life.

Maggie McJasper is starting over in a little California beach town. She has a bead shop, a nice circle of friends, and a handsome movie star who keeps flirting with her. Life would be pretty great if she could just stop stumbling over dead bodies….

Do you like dogs, crafts, quirky friends, a slow-building romance between grownups who genuinely like each other, and a twisty little mystery with red herrings galore? Then this is for you.
The Maggie & Jasper Capers are fun and flirty cozies, with no swearing or love scenes, and no gruesome violence to keep you up at night.

This book was originally published as "Maggie and the Whiskered Witness" in the Carita Cove Cozy series.

Fantastic!

For a regularly snoopy person like Maggie who usually finds out who killed the latest body she had stumbled into, has no desire to try to figure this one out. At least that's what she tells herself and the others who have inquired. Her boyfriend, Reese, has a hard time believing she will leave it alone. But because Maggie didn't know her friend well enough, there isn't much to go on. That is until she found Hendricks info on his tag which had fallen off in her house. The more she thinks about it, the more she figures out ways to find information about Lauren. As off she goes once more.

4 1/2 stars

I give this book a solid 4 1/2 stars. Maggie not only figures out the murder that occurs in this book, she solves an old case, too, with a surprising twist at the end. Along the way, Maggie also figures out an important truth in her life. I look forward to see where the author takes us with the next book.

Great!

Extremely b exciting, intense murder mystery! Reese is on a publicity tour so Maggie is on her own. She tries not to investigate but she keeps tripping over clues! Dangerous, unexpected solution to the murder! Wow to ending!!

That one was kind of sad. Even though it was still really good and we finally get ignition on the slowest of slow burn. Poor Lauren. Poor Hendrix. Poor Gabriel. Poor Will. Even poor Maggie & Reese for a bit. Jasper is doing fine tho.

Slow Start

I was starting to get bored with how slow the story was going. Then all hell broke lose, great twist of events.
