This story had a good balance of humor and the heartfelt emotions, without being too silly or depressing. Suzanne (heroine) is dealing with a lot of life changes; cheating husband, a career crisis and financial issues associated with her situation. I liked Suzanne and her growth throughout the novel was great, she wasn't a doormat but had a few weak moments. With that said, all worked out as it should. I thought the ending (epilogue) was rushed, I'm all for a HEA, but it was a little cheesy at the end.

Absolutely brilliant!

This book is brilliant, witty, and fun. Really enjoyed it. Definitely worth the five stars and I never give out five stars. Real life and all its complications for a woman with a truly undeserving husband and boss. I felt like I was going through all the emotions as I followed Suzanne's story.

Full circle

After reading pitching up, I thought I would read this stand alone book, the humour is like the other book and there is a slow burn romance that's really at the end.
But for me I enjoyed the other book more.

lovely written book

Throughly enjoyed this book. Suzanne was at an all time low & managed to keep going. The relationship with her boys is so heartwarming. I was shouting at the book about her husband.

Woman

Woman downtrodden, husband coercive control freak, two sons, house falling to bits and the hilarious and sometimes sad adventures that follow. Very entertaining

Brummie woman is a doormat for her miserly cheating husband and lazy teenage sons. After losing her job as a secretary, she cops herself on a bit and starts to stand up for herself. Not a bad story
