Recovery has never been so complicated.

It’s difficult enough to recover from a potentially career ending wreck, but Cole has to do it in front of a camera. Add in that the sexy videographer, Nix, has more than Cole’s tires spinning and it’s more than problematic. Facing the truth and redeeming himself for his past actions is trickier than making a good comeback for a team that doesn’t want him.

Nix Braumere is making a great career out of filming sports stars, and his friend, Jason, has him working on a Supercross documentary focusing on injuries, particularly, Cole Lindt’s. Making the hot racer the star of his show wasn’t supposed to wreck his heart. But Cole’s grouchy front obviously hides a world of pain that Nix wants to ease.

While motor driver Cole is training hard on his recovery, his team boss Vick was constantly breathing down his neck, work harder, be nicer, straight out your attitude, go go go, or else… Vick was pushing too hard, it’s exhausting.

Nix and his friend Jason are working together on the documentary about sports injuries and recovery. They will follow Cole in his process, Cole is quite the reluctant one.
At first, Nix thought Cole was just being difficult but soon he understands what’s going on.
Nix is quite smitten by Cole and it seems Cole feels similarly.

Oh boy, Cole has an attitude and a short fuse.

With two totally different agendas, it’s almost impossible to meet up. They try hard, sexually they are very compatible, besides the different agendas, there are some other bumps in the road.

It was a lovely story, at first I struggled a bit to commit to Cole, he’s not a lovable personality and has a lot to learn. Nix was way more easygoing and lovable. The steamy encounters were attractive for the eye.
There are some family members who are so stubborn I got irritated by them, ugh.
All the motor-cross aspects in this story were great to watch and interesting, they gave a nice look into the hard world of motor cross.
Across the board I missed development, the pace was quite fast, all the matters were touched slightly, so the total picture felt a bit shallow.

Overall an entertaining and enjoyable story. It was my first read in this series, at the end there is a nice teaser about what comes next!

SUPERCROSS IS THE BEST!!!

This HOLESHOT SERIES is EXCITING!!! This is Book #5 and this series has never slowed down. LYNN MICHAELS puts you on the back of a Supercross motorcycle and the ride is INCREDIBLE!!! Cole Lindt has his turn at tough times. He has a bad reputation for past deeds, he's on the ropes with his team. Now his career is in real danger of being over. Nix is a documentarian who has been brought in to film Cole. Knowing who Cole is doesn't mean you know him below the surface. Cole is the Supercrosser Nix never saw coming. I Loved This Book. I didn't like Cole at all but it didn't take me long to fall in love with him. His history in this series was not flattering. I'm so happy he is featured in this. This series is special to me because I loved riding and riding on motorcycles. When I read these books Lynn Michaels puts the thrill and wind back in my face and the rumble of the bike back under me. To me it's just an AMAZING ride. Meet you at the starter gate!! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS THRILLING HOLESHOT SERIES!!!!!!

I love that the author decided to give Cole a story and such a good one! Both the MCs have their imperfections and insecurities, but I liked how the emotions were played up and how they fit their story.
Like the whole Holeshot series, it's emotional, full of racing and all the characters we met before. It works as a standalone, but why would you deprive yourself of all the goodness?!

Find your flow

I recommend that you read the previous Holeshot books before this one as the storyline overlaps and involves characters across them. Cole definitely had a tricky road to redemption and both he and Nix rubbed me the wrong way at times. I think they both needed to face some hard truths but are better for it and better together. “You mean more. You mean everything.” It was fun seeing Cole become the person we had seen glimpses of and he grabbed hold of his happiness with everything he has. I’m glad he not only has Nix but an amazing group of friends. I’m looking forward to the next book.

A really great romance for everyone who loves some thrills, motorsports and steamy, not too sweet love.
The two men, Cole and Nix, come together while Cole is recovering from his racing accident, while Nix is working on the documentary about Cole's attempt of a comeback. Both lives are fast and demanding, so is their love.
The author understands it very well to outline these two very different careers with their challenges, difficulties to adjust to each other and finding compromises to make a new growing love work.
Regarding the main topic of the motorbike racing world, the author shows a very deep understanding of the subject. The story is fluently written and very well researched. She manages an authentic description of the devotion, passion and pressure of a race driver. The reader gets captivated and involved into Cole's world and his emotions easily.
Anyhow, besides the exciting trainings and racings, of course there is the romance, and this is quite hot and steamy! Our two lovebirds don't miss any chance to dive deep into their desires.
Even when sometimes I felt like some situations went forward a bit too fast without a decent development the reader could follow properly (like some personal issues and conflicts, or trust issues in their relationship), the novel was very captivating and I loved to follow the insights of a racer's life. And after Cole and Nix had to overcome a couple of hurdles and uncertainties, I was more than excited to see a happy future for them in the end.
I received this book for free but leave a review freely and voluntarily because I enjoyed reading it and can absolutely recommend it

I am sorry, it is definitely a me and not you problem.... I know that is something people say if they try to be polite but in this case it is the truth. I loved the plot of this book and how the story developed but ... I just didn't connect to the characters.

I read another story with a bike racer before this book and obviousely I should have taken a break before starting this book.
it is the first book in this series I read, so I had no previous knowledge of Cole or his actions, which did not really matter ... although it would have been nice to hear why he had such a bad reputation.
actually I really liked Cole (maybe because I did not read the other books in this series ... )

but I just could not find a connection with Nix. for me Nix was a bit of a spoiled child, who had a crush at first sight and did not really look behind this crush.

so due to this, I also did not enjoy the sex scenes ... *gasp* ... which I normally love but I found no connection to Nix and for me there was no real connection between Nix and Cole .... so .... no spark

as I said, it's me ...

My main opinion of this book is positive, but there's still some underlying issues. I wasn't thrilled with the Tyler obsession. Cole really needed to get over that one, and quickly. Cole also needed to be forced into maturing, because his bratty attitude wasn't helping his career, or personal relationships. This is where Nix made a big impact. He brought a calmness with him that Cole desperately needed. Nix was so patient and careful with Cole. Together they were great. But, there is one part that didn't sit well with me. They go to the "rivals" home, immediately I don't like the thoughts and looks going down with Cole, and I was understanding of some jealousy occurring. However, the way Nix flips his lid, the unreasonable behavior, everything, just did not make sense with his character. I absolutely disliked that entire part of the story. It didn't fit with him, and wasn't necessary, especially to the extent he took it. After that mess got handled, once the mc's were on the same page again, I enjoyed the ending.

Cole is a professional bike racer who gets injured pushing the envelope chasing a championship in the year that his contract was coming up for renewal. When his team boss informs him that he has to play nice and appear in a documentary about injured athletes he is introduced to Nix. Nix and his friend and fellow journalist Jason team up to work on this project. Cole knows that this project is tricky for him. It can give his team the ammunition to drop him. Nix is at first peeved that Cole seems difficult and wonders why but over time he comes to understand that Cole is wary for a reason. Nix and Cole are living very different lives, with Cole in the closet and Nix is not. Cole wants to recover and reclaim his ride and Nix is a well known filmmaker in search of a good story. Their journey to finding a way onto the same page that is as in sync and their chemistry and attraction to one another was pithy, bumpy and steamy. And it was good.
I received an ARC from GRR for an honest review.

Tricky Tracks is the fifth book in the Holeshot series. This Lynn Michaels tale is definitely best read as part of the series.

Cole's having problems with injuries, his career, and his father. And his love life.

Last time we saw Cole, he was upset that the man he loved choose someone else. He definitely wasn't a likable character, but he easily becomes lovable in this one. Yay for a good redemption story!

Cole and his new videographer Nix start to really hit things off, both physically and emotionally. And this helps Cole deal with everything. I really enjoy the way Cole changes with Nix's help.

Of course there's plenty going on in this one, including trying to deal with some long distance issues. I didn't love all the Tyler stuff, but it's definitely fitting with what we previously knew about Cole.

Tricky Tracks is a good addition to this series. This whole Lynn Michaels series is full of action and romance. I highly suggest it when you're in the mood for some hot motocross guys.

4.5 stars Read as a standalone even its book 5 of the series.
A good but bad start as Cole crashes his bike in a motocross event when he was running g in 3rd place in points.
Nix was filmgrapher who was involved in covering Coles come back recovery.
A great connection for these guys and I felt for Cole to what Vick was pushing him. Cole's not ready with his injuries but he had no choice. Scenes play out and what Cole feared become reality. Cole temper tantrums don't do him any favours at 27 years.
This was book 5 and I could read is as a standalone even through characters are included from previous books.
A romance starts with both of them into their jobs but snatch time to spend together.
A great book to read for these guys, it does have time jumps to progress the book forward to competitions. Sexy scenes and I loved that Cole needed Nix. I didn't like Cole's father at the start but he makes amends. I really enjoy reading this authors books and this is another one I can boost about.

ricky Tracks is the third book in the Holeshot series. And can be read as a standalone. But I would suggest reading the first two books so you can get the full backstory.

Cole has to redeem his self after his not so great past. And when they want to videography his recovering and return to the track he’s not too eager to do it. But when he meets Nix one of the videographers he fins himself trusting him. And soon that trust turns into a relationship. But they have to figure out a new relationship when their jobs always take them in different directions. And when his past becomes part of the present he needs to show Nix he is his number one. This book was a fun read. I think the only thing I would have changed is a found at times the story was a bit rushed. But other then that I truly loved he story and I can’t wait to read Ryker’s story next!

Ambition and determination can propel you to recovery. Nice story if you were a SME in motorcorss genre. I was not familiar with most of the jargon, so I didn't know the importance of activities. Cole is a bit juvenile. He is dragging a lot of baggage that affects him personaly and professionally. Nix, a videographer is contracted to film Cole's journey through recovery after an accident. Nix, is a nice guy, flexible and undemanding. Cole has confidence in his skill, but he self sabotages a lot. I couldn't find much to like about Cole, he acted before he thought to much. Can Cole find his balance? Does he recover from his injuries, to race again? Does he find a new team and sponsor? Do they manage to find success in a long distance relationship? Does Cole win? Nice story. A bit disjointed and bumpy. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I liked this, a lot. It was something different for me, because I have no knowledge whatsoever about bike racing and the like. However, I have to hand it to the author, big time, for giving the necessary context- and managing to avoid making it infodumpy.

I loved Cole in all his damaged glory (roll with it, okay?) and I loved how he and Nix complemented eachother. They were as charming as any other unlikely couple would be. (one thing I didn't like, though, was that bit of drama towards the end- it didn't feel organic at all, it felt like a slap to my face because it literally came out of left field).

Other than that bit I mentioned (and a couple mistakes here and there- nothing that one last round of eagle-eyed editing wont't fix, in any case), I really, really enjoyed this. It certainly made me want to go and check more by this author.

I love a good redemption story and Tricky Tracks really lives up to the challenge. Cole is trying to recover from a potential career ending injury while also trying to repair his public reputation after his actions towards Tyler and Davey in the first book. During his recovery, Cole is also required to train for his comeback under the watchful eye of a documentary camera, while also struggling with the unexpected attraction he feels towards Nix. Adding to the fun of this story are appearances from Tyler and Davey, as well as the rest of the Apex crew. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Yey! So glad that Cole is going to get a chance to redeem himself here! Sorry it takes a huge injury and the recovery to find it though! Along comes Nix who is going to be his video man recording his recovery.. These two guys are so career driven and meeting each other really is what they both needed! They bring out the better in each other. They have some steamy times together but they both need to figure out what they really want in life and how to reach it and balance it all!! Love seeing Tyler & Davey!! I received an ARC of this book and you can read this one as couple's romance, but I recommend the entire series to connect them all together!

Cole had been injured and is working hard at his recovery. Nix is working along side with his friend on a documentary about sports related injuries and their recovery. I really didn’t like Cole all that much in the beginning, but he grew on me. Nix seemed like a loveable guy with a great laid-back attitude. I really like the redemption aspect to the story! Overall it was a good story, well written. I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My review is solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

I really enjoyed this book. I could actually see Cole and feel his frustrations through the beginning of the book - a possible career ending injury, repressed feelings for a mechanic and an team manager who seems to want him gone and looking for any excuse for it to happen. Nix and Jason are there to film Cole's recovery and return to racing in a documentary. Nix feels an immediate connection with Cole and they start to explore their desires. The twists and turns were good and kept the story flowing. Well Done Lynn

I quite enjoyed Cole and Nix and their easy love story. The characters grabbed my attention from the start and held it the whole way through. My only complaint is that at times the story moved a bit fast and flattened the depth of the characters and their motives. A slower pace would have really brought out the chemistry between Cole and Nix while giving more credibility to their reactions in certain situations.

3.5 stars rounded to 4 🏍🏍🏍🛵

The story was a sweet romance with minimal angst. The character development of Cole was handled well, but the character development of Nix, seemed incomplete. Sections of the story seemed rushed, and much development and conversations were off page. The sex scenes were long, and this page space could have been used to allow the story to flow better. In saying that, I couldn’t put the book down and smashed it in one sitting.

I loved this book from start to finish. Such a great book. I got lost in a new world, a different world for me. The world of motocross. Cole suffers an injury that takes him out of competition. Follow his recovery and come back full of ups and downs. He has some help along the way in the form of Nix who is videographing Cole's recovery. At first Nix is an annoyance to Cole. They get to know each other along the way which eventually leads to more. A beautiful love story. I highly recommend.

Cole and Nix have a complicated relationship at the beginning of this book. Cole has been a prickly character throughout the series every time we've seen him with just glimpses that there might be more. Initially, his injury doesn't improve his character. Nix has issues to work through as well, and he and Cole are like oil and water initially. This is, however, ultimately a great hurt/comfort and redemption story as these two men find healing with each other.

I was asked to review Tricky Tracks by Lynn Michaels and as much as I wanted to read the first three books in the series before I dove into this one, my review list was long and involved, so I chose to dive right into Tricky Tracks and see if it can be read standalone - spoiler - I think it can... but more on that in the full review:

I would definitely recommend reading the previous books in the series to get the most enjoyment because you do hear a lot about previous books and see previous characters but I wouldn’t say it was 100% necessary. I think Cole and Nix got really well together and bring out the best in each other.

All about attitude

Accidents can cause you to re-evaluate your life and how you are doing things. Having someone listen to you, and be on your side is even better.
