Hong Kong protest history will remember Professor Chan Kin Man, hope this book can bring some peace to those who were arrested because of protest in HK.
Despite the subtle difference in political views, I found this book a very good read. Recommendations as to what to read, experience as a political prisoner/civil disobedience believer, views on recent protests (informed despite staying in somewhere without much information available).
Drawing from the 50 books he read in prison, the author talks about his life and reflections in jail. I found it a good and easy read which gives readers insights into the day to day life in prison, and provides a good reading list for the current political times.
His deep concern of social justice and empathy for misfortune despite the deprival of freedom in prison shines through in each of his letters of this book.
