Charli Robinson is happy to finally be rid of husband number two. At forty-two, she is unlucky in love and determined to stay as far away from men as she can. There is no need to be heading to divorce court again anytime soon. Content to have her bar and her two best friends by her side, Charli’s single status is firmly in place. Being cited by the county during a surprise inspection forces Charli to hire King, a contractor, to rewire her bar. Hiring Kingston Construction on a recommendation from one of her best friends leads her to reluctantly reevaluating her desire to be single. Who can resist a sexy man with a tool belt? A grown woman can have a little fun without it ending up exploding in front of a judge, right? When someone targets Charli’s bar, then King’s construction company, they will have to find a way to work together to figure out who is behind the threats before it goes too far. Charli is determined not to let anything happen to the people who depend on her. Even if that means sacrificing the big growly contractor that is dangerously close to stealing her heart.
Crystal reached out and asked if I would review her 1st romance novel. I had the honor of reading and reviewing one of her previous works and was excited she gifted me with this opportunity. She did give me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If nothing I am honest and would never give a review that I did not stand 100% behind. So with that said…My first impression from the 1st three chapters is Hallelujah!!! Thank you Crystal for writing a heroine that is in her 40’s! Finally a heroine I can relate to! This made me do a bit of a happy dance. This book takes off right away and drags you along for quite the ride! I couldn’t put it down, the story kept me wanting more and entertained at the same time. Like I said I pride myself in being honest and I know as a romance reader this may shock you but I want to puke with all the pet names out there! There are very few that I can get on board with and this was not an exception for me… but they did not deter me from enjoying the rest of the book. That was my one pesky dislike. But all the goodness overpowered that, plus that is my personal issue. I loved Charli and all her “issues” , Deb, Ray, Jud and the Kind brothers were all great characters as well!!! I love a good group of friends and Deb, Ray and Charli were quite the trio! This is a great read for the beach this summer! You MUST like ALPA MALES!!!! This one will blow your mind for sure!!! I need a King of my own please!
This was a fun book to read . Charli had no luck at all in the men department. The bar was the only good thing she got to keep after her failed marriages. Ray was absolutely the best guy friend a girl could have . Deb was bit by the love bug & could not cook to save her life . I enjoyed the characters very much. I came across this book by chance . I will read other books in the future by the author .
Twice divorced bar owner Charli is working hard and making plans. But her new electricions King will rock her world. With a great cast of characters this book is a fun hot read . Another winner.
This is a book I will be sharing. I read the majority of the book, but due to eye socket cellulitis I can barely see to right this review. Great plot and story line
