Oh my gosh! I loved this book…it totally surpassed my expectations. There were some great surprises along the way and the ending has me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book!
Terry Toler’s book, Body Count, was the perfect break from working on income taxes. Maybe not quite perfect—because one short reading break became a “finish this tonight break” instead of returning to my office. It was a good diversion for my mind, however. A story that is becoming all too familiar in reality. Pitting good guys against bad guys who engage in trafficking of drugs, weapons and humans, the tale has some surprising twists and turns.
Another GREAT book in the The Jamie Austen series. Thankfully Terry Toler is a quick writer, so I do not have to wait very long for the next book in this series. This time Jamie is the one who is being hunted.
Toler usually writes interesting and thrilling stories. Body Count fell short of his usual intriguing storyline. The story would have been more satisfying by sticking with Curly's plot. There was no need to incorporate a bounty on Jamie. That would have been a better stand-alone plot, and Jamie could have seen more action and details about her and Pok. Alex going to help Curly, was unexpected but had a good sentimental side to it. Hoping Book 7 is better with more action for Jamie.
Very enjoyable - but far too many factual, or grammatical, errors (see my comments!). As an author myself (non-fiction), I would never publish a book that had not been proofread at least three times - and even then, an occasional error may be missed!
First time reading this author. I was impressed! Non stop action from start to finish! Spies, gangs, hitmen; so many you have to pay attention to the plot. Plus, it’s a twofer! Highly recommended.
Terry opens three lines of interest, Curly in Costa Rica, Jamie. In Hong Kong and Alex at home. This is an exciting time. This May be his best book yet, I absolutely loved it. Had suspense on all three fronts and I couldn’t wait to find out what was next. It doesn’t get much better 5+
Great story, with Alex and Jamie working separate cases, and the movement between them was smooth. Looking forward to the next dual case and Neal Fuller gets his for being a traitor.
