DISABLED DECAY: When a Duty of Care Becomes Deadly

Matilda Lock aka disabled vlogger Tilly-Tok likes to show the world that a wheelchair isn’t an obstacle—it’s an opportunity. She’s done everything, and she’s done it all on camera. Almost everything anyway. There’s one trending topic she hasn’t been able to engage in—until now that is. Urban exploring. When support worker and bestie, Tessa, finds an abandoned Doctor’s surgery they can get into, they can’t believe their luck! Getting in is just a matter of breaking one lock (but it’s new so they aren’t really breaking any of the unwritten rules of Urban adventure). Getting out is going to be a different story, though. In this classic horror, there are ghostly secrets to behold—one’s which Tilly-Tok can’t avoid, much less run from. With the added element of inescapable terror, Tilly-Tok will have to muster all of the bravery and independence she can if she’s going to be the one to help out Tessa for once! If she doesn’t . . . Well, these ghosts aren’t going to be the only tortured souls in this place.

Maybe could be good with some major polishing and a sensitivity reader or five

Being dependent in needing help from people it's not bad no one is completely independent pretending we aren’t just hurts us more

Amazing book.

Disabled Decay is a horror tale featuring Tilly and her caretaker Tessa and a scary adventure that they get when they are urban exploring. And this tale is written by Bandi Crawford.

Matilda Lock aka Tilly-Tok is a disabled vlogger who likes to show the world that being in a wheelchair isn’t an obstacle—it’s an opportunity.

Tilly has done everything on camera. Almost everything that is. Because there’s one trending topic that she hasn’t been able to engage in. That is  Urban exploring.

When Tessa, her support worker and best friend , finds an abandoned place named Doctor’s surgery that they can get into easily they honestly can’t believe their luck. In this horror tale , there are ghostly secrets to behold—ones which Tilly can’t avoid, much less run from. With the added element of inescapable terror, Tilly will have to muster all of the bravery she can if she’s going to be the one to help out Tessa for once! If she doesn’t.

Reading this book felt like I was on an adventure ride. The thrill that you will get from this book is insane. The writing in the book is so good that you will feel like all of the story is happening right in front of you. This book will hook you in from the first page. And you won't be able to stop reading till you reach the end. And another part that I liked the most about the book is its beautiful cover. Definitely wouldn't be able to guess it was for a horror story.

If I had to recommend a horror book that everyone that loves reading horror or is just a reader that's looking to read more horror books, then this is the perfect read for you. Reading this book took me on a scary but fun adventure where I was always curious to know what happens next. The friendship and strength that Tessa and Tilly had as well as the happy ending make this a perfect read.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of this book shortly after it was published, and had an absolute blast reading it. I'm a long time horror fan, and have been actively looking for more spooky reads lately. This book really caught my attention.

Disabled Decay follows Tilly, a vlogger, and Tessa, her best friend and support worker, as they venture into unknown territory for an urban decay spelunking trip. That's right - support worker. Unlike most horror books, the main protagonist is disabled and the rep on these pages is incredible. Tilly is an incredibly likable character, and so is Tessa.

The horror elements were gripping, and the creepy, gross, and downright disturbing haunted house they've gotten stuck in was really brought to life. This book has a super cool feature in that it's got a map with the floor plan of the building at the front, making it easy to keep track of the girl's adventure.

I know that this is billed as the start of a series - and I'm hyped to see what new spooks the second book will hold!

A fantastic debut from Bandi Crawford. This tale is passionately written with a lot of powerful messages and observations. Bold, charming and gross, this is a fun and creepy tale that speaks volumes.
