Astrid lives alone with her dad. She does not know she is a werewolf or that they even exist! It turns out the man that helped raise Astrid isn't her father at all. He tells her that her mother wanted her to have a "normal" life until the day she turned eighteen, when she would have no choice but to tell Astrid the truth about her identity. After a tragedy that killed her mother, her father turned abusive towards her over the years for her mother's death. Astrid remained completely unaware of her heritage until a man named Ryker comes into her life, claiming they are mates!
Authors Trigger contains some scenes of physical abuse.
This reads like a high schooler wrote it. The characters have no development one second they hate each other then with out any explanation are happy and ok. The main female characters has no emotional development at all she is one minute scared knows nothing and a man screaming at her but then in the next second ok with the mate things and is in love. I almost didn't finish it was so poorly written
Honestly se bere kt obnova…. The writing is bad, but the story has potential i guess… Pac kinda slabo sam sm rabla to predn zacnem s fizo tko da not mad about it
As far as werewolf books go, it’s not bad, but I found the characters to be soft. The alpha ryker was not exactly convincing as the strong leader he was meant to be. Nadine started out ok but became very wishy washy and none of the characters had much going for them to be honest. There was no depth, the passion was very mild. Overall it was a bit unsatisfying.
The author has some great ideas but it’s a choppy read and juvenile. The battle scenes are short and not much action and the characters constantly giggle.
I feel bad but I have given up at page 55. It seems like the idea for the book was good however I could not get past the writing style. There is no connection with any character and reminds me of how I wrote at age 11-12. I wish this author all the best in the future but I couldn’t finish this book.
I liked this story don’t get all the rough reviews , the only thing I didn’t care for was the eye roll comment that Leon and his mate said at the end which is what we the readers start to see as Astrid n Rykers lil quirky joke between them. The other couple using it did bluer the difference in personality’s . Other than that I don’t regret reading it . I can say though I would LOVEEEE TO READ Magnus STORY. THE GIANT WHITE ALPHA AND HIS TINY MATE …. TANTALIZINGGGGG!
It is good book for those who loves this theme. I recommend it maybe for teens and up. This days some young people know more than the adults. They can understand and read between the lines. I’m not much about how to rate a book, but I will not mind to read it all over again.
I was absolutely diving headfirst into this book, however I feel like it could have been a bit longer. The start of the book was descriptive and really set the scene, however towards the middle I felt it were rushed and then the ending was just unfinished. Still this book and ones like it are my fav reads at the moment
The story was ok. It wasn’t spaced properly (two people might talk in the same paragraph) there were character mix ups (should have said James but said John or vice versa) and they didn’t talk with natural dialect. (When a normal person would’ve used a contraction, they didn’t, which made reading it feel unnatural at times)
I love stories like this .Drama plus Alpha fighting Alpha to save his mate . Sad in places a very good read indeed ,well written, well thought out story .Loved it .Can't wait to read more of your books .
Now I’m not always too picky on what I read but I couldn’t even get past the first chapter with this book. The grammar is awful and the plot is everywhere. Do with this information as you will, just know what to expect when reading it.
One minute I sympathize with Astrid, the next she is one of the most abhorrent characters I have read with an appalling attitude to match! I couldn't finish this book past the first couple of chapters. I do not recommend this book!
Loved the story it was a captivating story. It has it's interesting twists. Would have loved more of a sizzle in the romance. Story is great for young adults.
After years of thinking he would never find his true mate-she appears. The only problem? She has no idea what he’s talking about. Ryker and Astrid’s story is one of a kind. A must read to the very end.
Astrid is the FMC and she is clueless of her own true identity and heritage as a werewolf. Her mom was murdered when she was just a kid and the stepdad of course(!) blames her.😓The stepdad has practically beaten all that cluelessness, worthlessness and blame even more into her, but she’s surviving. She’s about to turn 18 and gets essentially a crash course about werewolves, cus she’ll soon get her own wolf! Talk about essentially a culture shock. She’s pretty much just pulled into the very deep end of the pool that is a world with werewolves! All the while she’s struggling with trauma and uncovering the truth of herself and of her and her mom’s past. The MMC is Ryker and he is this handsome dude who happens to also be a werewolf and one of the best of the best alphas etc. And he likes vanilla and cookies, or wait a minute, maybe not, cus it was kinda funny when he was commenting on the FMC’s scent, the FMC’s boss and her thought he wanted a milkshake or something (hehe). He was an ok MMC for the most part. He was at times a bit daft though, especially about his contract for a chosen mate thing (didn’t like her btw) but also at times he just didn’t have any situational awareness for her. He should’ve just frigging told her of the situation ASAP (deep sigh) and to the contracted one too. But yeah a lack of communication (or at least it wasn’t described in the book) and not getting what’s going on with her and the extent of her trauma etc. would cause that. I think some of that also added to the “unfinished” feel of the text/book. But thankfully true love for the win in the end! I was surprised to not see more of Jim in the book after the beginning - he seemed like such a kind and sweet character who’d been looking out for her when no one else did, offered help and support.
Overall I enjoyed the read and it’s a book you can read quite quickly. The story is nice, nothing too complex while not being too similar other werewolf stories. I liked the plot line in itself. Though at times it felt like it wasn’t indeed quite finished yet, or that it was some draft of the story. Some parts of the book felt more worked through and described in more detail etc., while some felt a bit rushed through or written in less detail or very shortly leaving you a bit confused to check if you actually read all the pages or so. This happened more the closer I got to the end of the book. But I still overall enjoyed reading the book, especially when I was in the mood for just a light book to read and enjoy.
⭐️: 3,5
Trigger warnings: abuse, many kinds of violence, threats of violence, threats of the r-word, treats of forced marking, being held captive, off page violences, many kinds of alphaholery, as well as guilt, trauma, loss…
So if you enjoy reading of werewolves, fated mates, found family, rouge to luna, uncovering secrets and revealing your heritage and getting revenge, this books for you. Though I’d recommend going into it open minded and especially if you’re a mood reader type, this is for when you’re looking for a quick light read to just enjoy a werewolf story. 🐺

I decided to pick up this book after seeing an ad on Facebook for one of those Short Drama apps. The ad was enough to draw me in to purchasing a copy of the book and giving it a read. Or at least attempting to....
Astrid is on the brink of her 18th birthday and is currently living in an abusive home. Since the death of her mother, her father has turned his rage onto her. But Astrid has a secret that even she is not aware of. And it's not until she crosses paths with a mysterious man named Ryker that she learns who she really is.
At it's core I expected this story to evolve into a great storyline. But unfortunately I made it 10 chapters before I had to put it down. The level of the writing was just not what I would have expected it to be. As someone who typically likes faster moving stories, I found this one just taking too long to move along. In addition, the writing was almost childish in some ways and I would have liked a bit more maturity coming from the writer.
I did not finish this book. It simply wasn't for me.
