A nasty paparazzo is accused of murdering an equally nasty screenwriter, and Maggie is torn between relief that they're both out of her hair—and worry that the police have captured the wrong man.
Maggie McJasper is starting over in a little California beach town. She has a bead shop, a nice circle of friends, and a handsome movie star who keeps flirting with her. Life would be pretty great if she could just stop stumbling over dead bodies….
Do you like dogs, crafts, quirky friends, a slow-building romance between grownups who genuinely like each other, and a twisty little mystery with red herrings galore? Then this is for you. The Maggie & Jasper Capers are fun and flirty cozies, with no swearing or love scenes, and no gruesome violence to keep you up at night.
This book was originally published as "Maggie and the Serpentine Script" in the Carita Cove Cozy series.
Wow! What has happened again in this sleepy little California town?. Another dead person to deal with. Maggie has her work cut out for her this time because she doesn't even like the guy who is being blamed for the murder. She only knows that he didn't do it. But to work on this case she will have to take into account several other residents of their town to figure it out. And that will be tough because she doesn't really know enough about them. So, onward we go to the next book.
Another good book in the Maggie and Harper mystery series. The regular cast of intriguing characters are here, along with a few new ones. We also get further development in Maggie and Reese's relationship, as well as seeing Maggie solve another murder. I give this book 4 1/2 stars.
This author writes about real things even if these are cozy mysteries. They all have real world problems in them. Jasper just gives these books a little dog love and I wish Reese was my boyfriend!
