Due in part to the long since ended 3rd world war, the air has become a health hazard. Most of the population exposed to the raw environment has been burdened with birth defects. As a result, sanctioned "safe" cities were created to protect the genetically normal populace. Slade, a boy from one of these cities, meets a mysterious boy from an outland city. This is a story of their survival, and the relationship that grows between them.

5★ isn’t enough honestly... Season 2 can’t come soon enough!!!

It’s my first graphic novel ever and I completely fell in love with it. The art style is genuinely the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The color palette especially was INSANE!

And the characters were SO cute and perfect. 🥹Their relationship felt so incredibly tender and real, and every interaction made my heart melt.

The fact that Calico is deaf while Slade is slowly going blind absolutely destroyed me emotionally. The scenes about the stars hurt even more because Slade couldn't see them anymore... 😭

My favorite graphic novel ever! The art is beautiful, the plot is heartbreaking, and the story is somehow relatable, despite taking place in a dystopian world. Truly one of the best things I've read so far! Well deserving of 5 stars!

This story is really good! The storyline is captivating and the boys are so cute and adorable! I love how that last chapter ended. I really look forward to seeing how the story develops and their relationship too! I look forward to the release of Season 2!
