Olivia just finished college, with interviews lined up all around the world, promising a fresh start. But the past still clings to her, and when she returns to her hometown, a corrupt judge makes her a deal. Three months—she must trade three months of her life, doing whatever he asks, to save her father. Three months to save a life. How can she say no?
Brody’s life was destroyed by an accident that didn’t feel so accidental. It definitely wouldn’t have happened if Olivia hadn’t left him, vanishing without a trace. Now he’s got her back, with the help of his grandfather, the local judge. Brody’s got big plans for Olivia, a million and one ways to make her pay for everything she did. But his own rage isn’t enough. He’s brought along three friends to help him carry out his revenge, and they all have their own reasons to blame the women who betrayed them.
One thing is for sure—no one will be the same when the summer ends. And Olivia’s reason for running… he’s still out there, and he’s been waiting a very long time to finish what he started.
Meh. The writing itself is not bad but this didn’t feel like a real RH. The strongest relationship and the one that got the most attention was the one between Olivia and Evan. Next was the conflict between the Olivia and original “wronged man” Brodie, and even that felt thrown together. His reason for revenge was also really childish. The other two guys… geez I almost forgot they were there. Total afterthoughts named Sean and Isaak. I may have gotten those names wrong even though I finished the book 5 minutes ago. That’s how memorable they were. I think this whole plot might have been better as a ménage instead, even with the childish revenge reason.

Literal torture - multiple nights of sound torture with sleep deprivation. You really think this evens things out? What kind of freaking man baby are you? Grow the F up. Take some responsibility for your own life. And your friends that went along with this are as stupid as you are.

I like erotic romances where the author takes a deeper dive into a fantasy, giving it uncomfortable elements of reality in order to explore motivations and use them to build a more intense and multi-layered relationship between the characters. With an HEA, of course!
When this book started, I was ready to despise Brody, but I very much liked how the heroine called him on his BS and owned her own actions. She didn’t let the baggage of the heroes diminish her view of her strengths and weaknesses.
The characters are working through pain, using sex as a punishment, but somewhere along the way it becomes a tool of healing as well. A thought provoking story. If the reader can leave behind general concepts of “acceptable behavior” to appreciate how the author has the characters explore forgiveness and pleasure, I think he/she will find a lot to value and appreciate in the story. I know I did.
Oh, and I love Evan. I’ll trade in all three of the others for one of him, thank you very much, lol.
---READER BEWARE--- Intense and disturbing subject matter could result in triggers for some readers!
This reader quickly formed opinions about the direction this book was going and it wasn't good. Beginning with blackmail, coercion, subtle kidnapping, rape, and extended emotional and sex abuse, this author managed to include a ridiculous amount of evil all rolled into one book and present it in a manner that, by the end of the book, readers could easily be fooled into thinking it was all fine since it all ended well.
After receiving a note from the judge that runs her home town Olivia has returned after five years in an attempt to save the life of the father that never cared about her. She just had no idea how evil and sick in the head both her father and the judge could be. She has been forced to sign a contract to do whatever the judge wants for three months in order to keep her father off death row. But Olivia's nightmare has just begun, because the judge's grandson - the boy she has never stopped loving - is not the guy she used to know, and for the next three months he controls her life.
But it isn't just Brody in the judge's mountain cabin when she arrives. Brody and three other men, all perceived to be wronged by a woman from their past, are looking for revenge. And Olivia's forced consent means the four men can do whatever they want to her short of permanent physical damage or murder. Brody's disgust is palpable as he informs her he intends to watch his friends defile her over and over again until, hopefully by the end of summer, he will be over her.
While the past five years of Brody's life have been filled with hate and rage he has made assumptions about why Olivia left him and by the time the truth comes out it will be too late.
I tend not to give away spoilers, for me it is down to an individuals own imagination as to how they like/dislike a book. I really enjoyed this book, there are some dark parts for the guys in her RH, psychological parts that you have to get your head around, elements of spanking & BDSM though for me nothing over the top (if this isn’t your thing then don’t pick this book up, the title kind of gives away the direction this book is likely to go). Our MC isn’t some feminist hard ass but she does have dark places of her own, which for me help the book along. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
This book really moved me. I felt the darkness. The despair. I felt sympathy for all of them, at the same time their pain was mine. I don’t know how romance authors can get so psychologically deep, and SPOT-ON. Evan really got to me. He is the kind of man I wish I could meet, just to give him a long warm hug and tenderly kiss his forehead in empathy. Maybe even be lucky enough to call him my friend. Great story/characters, DM. Enjoy.
Okay…I feel like I found the next BookTok gem. This book had all the elements- fast burn, good plot, dark romance and reverse harem (for those who like it)! It was definite a darker, taboo read but I read it in a day and just devoured it! There are triggers and it gets fairly dark but the more cringe scenes are over fairly quick. I’m excited to dive into what’s next into this new to me author!
I really enjoyed this, I don't quite know what I was expecting. It wasn't as dark as I'd thought it would be, if you take out the whole consensual non consent bit. I loved the characters and healing that took place. The only thing I'd change is that its in the third person and I much prefer first person pov, but that's not a reason not to try it and fall for Livie, Brody, Evan, Sean and Isaac!
I enjoyed this hot, fast read. The plot of this story is pretty good but i felt at times the individual characters needed to have more details. Sex scenes were well written.
All the hate a hurt an loneliness turned into forevermore love .The broken men an a lonely broken woman make a true soul match. Fantastic read start to finish can't wait to read more.
In the end everything works out and that’s what I like. Everyone has misunderstandings and being humans, we generally blow everything up so much further. The way the guys wanted to solve things was wrong, but they all fell hard and it finally worked out. Good deal.
Such an intense, dramatic, hot story. The pages flipped themselves. I could not get enough of this story. The dramatic past and the intensity of the future was sooooo good. I highly recommend this story to others.
It was a quick read but it gave you spice and mystery all in one. I was worried for my girl😭. However the play on grief/revenge and how harboring it effect you was well constructed.
This was so good. Only complaint: why only 200 pages? I need more! But yeah check if you have any triggers, you know the drill. I for one was very in this mood (still am) and was very content.
First and foremost, I wish I could do half stars. I would've rated this a 2.5. It didn't quite make 3 but solid 2 feels too low. That being said, the author writes very well! I enjoyed the descriptions of characters, places, and the emotions each character was feeling. The spicy scenes were extremely well written and it was easy to become invested in a few characters. Evan and Livie were interesting to learn about. Without giving away too much, Brody was intolerable. The entire book felt like him throwing a tantrum. I pictured him pouting in the corner like a toddler who got a toy taken away. I don't know how (insert his reason for revenge) was a good enough reason to put Livie through what he attempted to put her through. He was downright cruel to her. I would NOT have forgave him. I'm not sorry.
Read no further if you don't want spoilers. . . . . I don't find any of what they did to be a path to healing. Taking out feelings on an "innocent" party just because you can is... I had no words. I wanted to finish the book to see how it could possibly turn out as a HEA. I had to set my kindle down and reflect for several minutes. It felt like "yeah yall tortured me and caused me some trauma to try to fix your own trauma but... I'm happy to have maybe helped you heal. Lets all be happy now." I was screaming at Livie to leave when the judge gave her the out. I wanted her to go so bad. But she had to go play house with her abusers so the villain could show up. I just.... this book was a Rollercoaster of emotions between arousal, shock, and frustration. And honestly, eff Brody. I need a Livie and Evan story. Evan has my heart.
