A long time ago I was born in Los Angeles. That's where I spent many of my formative years. After I became an adult, I moved around for a bit before ending up in a small town in Oregon, very similar to Bailey's hometown. Greenhearth is fake, if you haven't already Googled that, but it's like many small towns with less than 1,000 people.

My pets...
I love animals, especially my two even if they do create havoc in my daily life. I have a cat, named Snowstorm, Storm for short. Then I have a rescue, Josephine. She's a Labradoodle - I think. It's hard to say but it's the best I can come up with.

What I'm working on...
I'm already working on the next book in the series - was working on it before Bad Attitude came back from editing. And now that it has released, need to stay on track with A Bit Aggressive.

Interesting

Very interesting story. I was very enthusiastic about a new work by Mr. Anderle. I'm pretty sure that I will read everything he puts out. I was pulled into his world of writing from reading the Kutherine series and now I'm even more of a fan.

A bit of a Celtic "soap opera"

"Most people lived lives they never asked for, I realized."

Angelica Morgan, EMT in an overrun with patients hospital in England finds out there is more to life than a pandemic. Just what she has no idea

Seen through the stories of her predecessors, she discovers the power she has been given can change her world, both "normal" and "paranormal" as she learns from the wisdom of her Celtic Gran and those previous generations.

But just who is the Morrigan and how will this reincarnation change the present time? I love how the authors turned a young woman into a feisty no holes barred fighter for "truth, justice and hope". This is a book to return to when you can afford the whole series. Highly Recommended 5/5

My apologies to Ms Jagger, I'm sure many people will like this book. I however found it to be messy and unkempt therefore an almost painful read. Good concept, Ok ending, it just didn't flow. My normal 800 wpm reading speed got choked down to 250 or so. I had a sense of that from the blurb and probably wouldn't have tried it if not for the Anderle imprint.

This one needs a rewrite.

Couldn’t make sense of this book. Very confusing and disorganized. Usually enjoy Michael’s books, this one needs a total rewrite!

I absolutely loved this book!

Being of Irish descent, I spent my childhood enthralled by all of Eire's' Myths and Legends, and The Morrigan was one of my favourites.

Her stories, especially in her aspect of the three Sisters of War, Fate, and Death, both enthralled me, and scared me to nightmares, at times!

I think if my Mum knew just what I was reading, she would have been outwardly appalled, but secretly encouraging - after all, it was she who taught me to read aged three years old! Lol

Renee and Michael have really caught that same atmospheric feel to the stories I remember from those times, and they brought back all the wonder I felt, as an eleven year old, when I first discovered Morrigan', and all of her aspects.

I am really looking forward to reading all the rest of this series, even though I know there'll be things to upset me, as much as there will be delights, but it's wonderful to rediscover a character I've not thought of, very often over the years, since then.

So I'll leave this with the best advice to you, the reader that, if you've not read this, or even discovered about The Morrigan yet, then please do give it a read, as I don't think you'll be disappointed!

I'm on, now, to Book Two: 'The Way of Wisdom' and, once I've finished this, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!

This was NOT one of my favorite books and I really expected more – more action, more wit, more humor. I love the majority of Michael Anderle’s books, but it seems Renee Jagger is not one of my favorites.

Within the first chapter, I thought this book was a post-apocalyptic book because of the horrible disease ravaging the land…it seems it was COVID and the “wear a mask” was pushed throughout the first half of the book, although it had nothing to do with the plot. This book was very slow reading (I normally read a book or two a day) and I struggled to finish it. I did love the crows and wolf, but there didn’t seem to be any communication between the H and the animals, something you would think she would be able to do.

The H finds out she’s the Morrigan, or in line to take over the Morrigan’s powers. It used to be one person, then the powers split to three, then it went to one person and now it’s…who knows? The few fighting scenes that were in the book were excellent and descriptive, and it felt like you were really watching it. Parts with the mother were random and didn’t have much to do with the plot. A brother was mentioned several times but had nothing to do with the plot.

I was very disappointed in this book and will not be reading future sequels.

The Urban Morrigan

Another instance of the Irish mythology in urban fantasy. The Morrigan is a popular character in the genre where ancient mythologies are still around I have noticed.
I haven't checked to see if the quoted source material used at the beginning of each chapter actually exists. Regardless the quotes help with the Morrigan myth backstory.
I enjoy Michael Anderle's work. This is my first encounter with Renée Jagger. I am very glad female lead characters are written, or co-written, by female authors. In the past a male writing a female lead hasn't been the best written lead character.
I could not decide if 4 stars was too high for this story but chose to stick with it as the story has promise.

I enjoyed the book. Angelica is about to go through a major transformation. She is an EMT and wants the world to be a better place. As an EMT, she doesn't always see the world at it's best. She takes a vacation and goes to visit her grandmother, who is a single part of the Morrigan. Surprise! I read several books with the Morrigan in it. They're all different which is OK. In this one the Morrigan is in 3 aspects. Warrior, Knowledge and I can't remember. This is the warrior's book. It's a little heavy. Child abuse is a major theme. The sections on the past provide a lot of background information on the Morrigan's history. I've downloaded the 2nd book and look forward to reading it.

Great story for a modern day Goddess!

It's a good read, on how Angelica comes into her power and the path it takes her to get there. Jumping back in time to see how past incarnations of the Goddess dealt with the power was interesting. Understanding of course that this is Angelica's story I wish we could of read more in depth on Sun , Moon, and Stars. As well as their predecessor. Even more about how Night handled her touch of Goddesshood even though the brief bit we got was horrendous. All in all a great start to a series.

A work of reinvention for the legend of the Morrigan.

The Morrigan lives on through her followers today, and this story succeeds in relating it to a renewal of her efforts to end the suffering of today. Corporate greed is easily assimilated into the world of supernatural greed, and all of us are feeling the brokenness of the world right now. The storyline is still gelling together, I am waiting to see what it becomes.

A little convoluted, but a good beginning

Ange, or the Morrigan, has just begun. Somehow her family has been entrusted with the power and duties of an ancient Irish deity. She’s coming into her ability and destiny to do good for the people even though they don’t even know she exists. A good read.

Good start to a new series

Angelica is an EMT and finds out she is to become a goddess. She has a lot to learn and is slowly making friends to help her in her fight against the bad mythical creatures that are trying to take over. I really enjoyed the world building in this book and am looking forward to see what other mythical creatures we will meet.

It begins here

This first story has a lot of world building in it. You need the back story and the author provides that thru dreams & flash backs. The first part is finished, more of a positioning really, because this character needs to be in this place to start the rest of her work.

An enthralling start...

... to a new series by a brilliant and imaginative author. If I didn't have to get up in far too few hours I would go and read book 2 right now.

Great Read!

Not what I was expecting, but a great read! I can't wait to read more! I have read a lot of mythology but this is my first real lesson, now I'll have to find and read more. Thanks for the new hobby!

The book was well written but I have issues with heroes who waffle between being badass and helpless. I'm afraid this bothered me a lot thought-out the book and it slowed my reading a lot as I found I needed to escape from the book and given I read to escape that wasn't ideal.

Angelica will be great in her new role

Ang transitioning to a new role. She does not understand the new job or the problems she will be required to solve. She knows her strength is increasing.

My first Kindle Unlimited and it was moved to the DNF list. Luckily, I felt no guilt for returning this to KU and saving a few dollars!!

I am sure that this is a wonderful book, but I could not get interested in the story arc.

Birth of a Goddess

I had some trouble putting things together in the beginning, once things started flowing I caught on and was genuinely interested in the book. I enjoyed the characters and there were some very good action sequences.

New to me series

This is starting to be very interesting. The girl stumbles into her heritage. The woman she thinks is her grandma begins passing her supernatural power to the next generation.

Great idea for a story but the writing wasn’t great. It felt rushed in parts and just didn’t flow well in others. A shame as the concept is good.

My first novel to include the pandemic in its plot. The dark forces are hiding in plain slight influencing the fate of the city and its inhabitants.
