Superheroine Risa Remington once had the power to read thoughts and emotions with a stroke of her fingertips. Until a lab accident changed everything. Now Risa has to learn to live in the real world—virgin territory for a girl who's never experienced life, love or sex.
CIA agent Daniel MacAlister has orders to babysit gorgeous Risa. She can't fall into the wrong hands—she knows too much. But when Risa falls into his bed one night—soft, warm and naked—he's forced to go on alert. Because his mere sexual touch seems to have triggered her superpowers. And if she finds out what's really on his mind, it's game over. Literally.

I Love a good romance and one with a good story to Law story intertwine and the story of Daniel and Risa was a great one.
Risa had powers which the agents need and used since her childhood but once her powers come into question they cut her lose to live in a world she has never been in, normal life is a foreign world and she does not know who to trusted.
When Daniel is sent to help her to adjust to this new life he finds himself having to deal with his own demons and his growing feelings for Risa.
There need to touch each other is one new to both and also one which will change everything for them and their lifes ahead.
3.5 starts because I rated with 5 for the creativity considering that is a Harlequin book and 2 stars because it's a Harlequin and you know before you open the book the plot meaning you know how is going to involve.
To be honest this is one of the few Harlequins that I actually liked and were interesting. This is the first blaze book I have read and I think I might read another one of two of the series hoping they are as good.Don't get me wrong the books isn't earth shattering good but it wasn't bad and deffinitely not the usual H. book.Yeah! It doesn't have any sex scenes either so I am going to be able to tell my mother about it when she complains that all H. books are the same without having any awkward moments.
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. By the looks of the book I can probably tell that you think it’s your typical erotica, made for middle-aged woman, and written by a horny 18 year old.
Well you’re right on this one.
Now, before I start my review let me point out that I’ve read some books that have the girl’s nipple on the cover while the guy before it ready to start the procreation started, and have been blown away at how well it was written and relatable characters that you actually cared for. Since then I’ve definitely, well at least try not to, judge a book by it’s cover.
I was hoping that Untouched was going to be one of those. The story is about a young woman named Risa was had the ability to read people’s mind until an accident happened that somehow removed her power.
Risa was being protected by the CIA more importantly Agent Daniel McAlister. His orders was to kill Risa only he ended up falling in love with her instead. Now not Risa is “normal” she has to live like one as well with the help of Daniel. When a scientist that she worked with suddenly goes missing, Daniel and Risa are on high alert. Risa and Daniel have a strong sexual attraction to each other and end up having sex, Risa suddenly hears Daniel’s thoughts. Daniel and Risa are then hunted down by the same agency that he works for. They team up to try and figure out how Risa got her powers back, find the scientist, and not get killed in the process.
When I read the summary I thought I was in for a good adventure with some romance, only to be disappointed at the end. Well I take that back, I was disappointed throughout the book. First of, when I’m reading a romance book, or a book in general, I want to feel like it’s really happening, especially the dialog. When characters interact you want to hear them as if someone would really say that to someone else. Everything was very corny and monotone. When the characters were talking it wasn’t the character talking but the author typing words. Make sense?
Certain characters have different ways of speaking, with their own unique personalities. For example, when a character is described as sarcastic they character always has a sarcastic remark with everything they say. The way the character is described is how a character should sound, and unfortunately this book lack that.
Would I continue reading this types of books? Absolutely, because I’ve read enough books to know that they’re not all the same. As for this book, it just didn’t do well in my eyes.
This is actually a 3.5 star book. The extra points are for the heroine's superpowers, or previous superpowers.
Anyway, Risa was a superhero, with ESP-like powers utilized by the CIA. Her powers meant that she has never touched anyone after her parents died, in case she read their mind. Definitely a mood killer for typical romantic interludes. After an accident, she lost her abilities and is forced to live a normal life. Having a hard time adjusting, the CIA sends Daniel, an agent who had previously worked with her, to check up on her assimilation into normality. Daniel has been running away from his family for years - since his twin brother died, and he feels responsible for it. They happen to live in the same area as Risa (I forgot where), so by crazy circumstances, he needs to face his family and pretends to be dating Risa. The instant chemistry between Risa and Daniel, makes it easy for them to get intimate and whatever. But when Risa's powers resurface, Daniel flips out and turns against Risa. Leading to some more action-like situations, but really only causing riff that the pair can use make-up sex to mend.
It was a little different compared to the typical blaze novel. But I wished Daniel's past wasn't so cliched. His relationship with his father was off, but he still had the rest of his family. I wanted to smack him when he felt like he didn't belong. What was he, 13, experiencing the first bout of teenage angst? When he turns against Risa, I stopped caring about Daniel. He was totally overreacting to the situation, and using a truth serum on the heroine is a big no-no to me.
After they made up, I started getting bored. It wasn't intentional, because there was supposed to be a lot of action, but it was so underdeveloped, from the beginning, I was already satisfied that they exchanged their 'I love you's.
Overall, it was an ok book. Not that great, but interesting because of what Risa used to be. I wish she got her powers back or that the end wasn't too tidy. maybe I've just gotten jaded, from reading this genre for so long.
This is actually the first Blaze book I've ever read. Not sure why I never picked one up before, but I do know what's attracted me to them lately. It's this new series they've got going within the Blaze books called EXTREME. It's going to deal with vampires, superheroes, witches, ghosts and that type of thing. So of course, I took notice! Lol.
Anyway. This is about a superhero that has lost her powers and is now struggling to learn how to be normal. However, things get complicated when Daniel enters Risa's life to make sure she's settled into 'normal', and isn't actually working for the enemy. Of course, there's much more to what he has to try to uncover. After all, he is a CIA agent.
What I really enjoyed about this book was that although Risa was supposed to be the one that didn't have a grasp of normalcy in her life because she'd been raised in a lab, Daniel was as out of touch as she was. And together, well, let's just say the sparks fly. I loved the sensuality and raw emotion that develops between them, even if it's continually shadowed by suspicion. It keeps you guessing and wondering just how, and if, these two will ever find middle ground enough to be together.
I'm very glad I decided to try out this Blaze, because it's convinved me to check out all the Extremes they release... as well as a few others.
This is one of those books that keeps you up all night because you want to finish reading. The characters are wonderful and both have their interesting stories and pains from the past. Things are getting very hot between the two of them as well. The only negative thing is that some of the 'psychic powerstuff taken to a scientific level' was not very believable (but it's an Extreme Blaze after all).
Not a bad book, though there was very little in terms of the signature Blaze heat. It made up for that by way of a pretty good underlying suspenseful storyline.
Can't say I would re-read, but it's not a bad book to pass a few hours with.
I first read this many years ago. Pilfering it from my mom's books must've added to the excitement, because the story was a little flat this time around.
