What would you do if you suspected your son was guilty of murder?
‘No Son of Mine’ is a story of revenge, love, loss and lies.
Jody Parry is an investigative journalist who wins the scoop to interview Kathleen Bennington. The story is set in the east end of London, where Kathleen lives alone. Kathleen’s son, Richard is awaiting trial, accused of murdering both his wife and his ex-wife. As Jody gets to know Kathleen and others connected to the case, she begins to suspect there is more to this story and not everything is as it seems. Did Richard really confess all to Kathleen, or does her sick, warped mind, hell-bent on revenge hold the clue to something darker? Caught in a deadly web of deceit, Jody puts all her efforts into uncovering the sordid details around the family. Full of twists and intrigue. Great for fans of Liane Moriarty, Casey Hill and Lisa Jewell. This is book 1 in the Jody Parry Investigates Series.
I'm a self-published author. I like to write emotionally charged psychological thrillers and mysteries about everyday people in seemingly ordinary circumstances until something goes badly wrong in their lives.
What would you do if you suspected your son of murder?
Kathleen turned in her own son for murder. Were her intentions purely to do the right thing or was she doing this for herself? Told from the aspect of an investigative reporter, Jody, who delves into all the sordid details of the case. Is Kathleen really the innocent mother or is there something more sinister going on here? This dark story is full of twists, turns and revenge. A gripping read that proves "all is not as it seems".
This was a compelling read, that I found I did not want to put down! Great, multi-faceted characters. Very interesting plot. Vivid descriptions. Suspenseful and thrilling. I felt every emotion. Kept me intrigued from the first page to the last. A really good read!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
This is a well thought out psychological thriller which arouses many suspicions but manages to keep the rather nasty truth under wraps right up until the last chapter. A well written page turner.
