644 chapters, yet I still crave more.

I love these characters and the trials and tribulations they go through. THE ANGST, the joy and intelligence of our main character, Park Moondae, feels so fulfilling, satisfying and so so enjoyable to read about. I have never read about such a great mc with such depth and realism before Moondae. He feels like a real person and you really start to root for him.

I also love these characters side characters (aka, Moondae’s groupmates). Each one of them are unique and endearing in their own way and it’s so cool to see each of them shine and play their part in becoming a part of their group, TeStar. Everyone has their own personality and backstory (backstories that actually influence the main story all the time) and I love them all (although Keun Sejin was slightly annoying to me at the start lol).

The main story itself is amazing. I won’t say any spoilers but I will say many things will happen that you will not expect at all. There is more than just ‘debut as an idol or die’, like way more. So many unexpected events occur and it is so interesting to see how Moondae uses his logical reasoning to figure everything out. A lot of struggle and accomplishment, but more struggle.

However, the first chunk of chapters aren’t super interesting (at first I thought dod was just ehh) and the story is more slower paced, but just keep reading and it will feel like finding treasure. I will also say that there are some parts that feel a little dry (just like any other book) but when it gets to the parts that hit, they hit.

It feels like watching an actual idol’s life. There is so much realistic problems that real idols go through that are presented in this novel. For example, various scandals, stage mishaps, and company management issues. Some people joke that the author is a massive kpop fan because of how the kpop industry is represented TT.

This is in my top 3 novels I’ve read so far and I would highly recommend it to even those who have no interest in idols (like me).

This was the start of my obsession with idol stories lol. I don't know if this is the novel or manhwa but I'm caught up with both so it doesn't matter. Please read it if you're looking for a fluffy found family story with not a lot of conflict it's really cute(until that mf Cheongryeo shows up).

This was so addicting to read, I cannot lie, and it's also a really good, realistic portrayal of idol culture and specifically asian society's, let's say, weirdly indirect nature. The characters are really human in a subtle way, even if the character in question didn't have their psyche analyzed full-frontal for everyone to see, and the humor is on point every time. I couldn't count all the times I've had to pause reading because I was too busy laughing with it. It's really wonderful to see in a book, for it to be both smart and funny at the same time. The plot could go a bit nonsensical at times but with webnovels, this is quite par for the course.

I dnf this novel at chapter 130ish(?), when the manhwa first started but (surprise surprise),I completely forgot to write a review.

Long story short, this novel belongs to the ‘fluffy idol’ genre and TeSTAR honestly just stole my heart by being such wholesome cinnamon buns. Regrettably I had to drop this as mtl is a pain that just leaves me with nothing but PTSD, of course that’s not the only reason though, I also ended up getting a little bored of the story as literally nothing happens. The plot is going at such a snail pace that it cured my insomia (I literally fell asleep while reading).

I’m not going to rate this as I’m not sure if this is the manhwa or novel, but based off of what I read in the novel I would rate it around 3-3.5 stars. I’m not sure of the manhwa as it may be better or worse, there is not enough chapters to tell just yet.

I'm love. MOONDAE(gyunwoo n og moondae too) I LOVE YOU this story so roller coaster and book 1 is real good. I need to start on second part but I loved the first part so much already 🤌 honestly the characters at start were written kind of in a way that made me hate or unlike them but then the story progresses and we can see them all character develop and form found family and I cri 🫶

okk so i technically have read only to somewhere over 200 chapters, so I don’t know how it ends/goes after that, because the english translation wasn’t finished when I read it yet

BUTT this novel is soooo good omg
if you happen to like the novel ‘lout of the counts family’, then i’ll let you know this is definitely something you would like aswell, as the MCs are quite similar
