Lovely sweet romance with heat, another great addition to this wonderful series. This group of friends will worm their way into your heart. Each book centres around a different lady, but you still get to see all the others as well. This one I was lucky enough to read in its infancy, and I loved it. Nick is so caring not just with Ellen but with her daughter too. I loved watching their relationship blossom as they tackled life, work and living a fair distance from each other with a little crime fighting thrown into the mix. Low angst, this book has steam and is equally sweet and romantic—a must-read.
*I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. What a sweet love story! I was confused at the begging with all the names and characters but quickly caught up to who each one was (I should have probably read the first book for a better background story). I loved Ellen, she was shy and had her heart broken once, and how Sam (her daughter) helps her get out of her shelf and take a chance at love. Nick is sweet, caring, and patient. He knows that Ellen is a catch and will do anything to make sure she is comfortable and safe in his arms. There is a drama of course - I think it was well played and keep the angst of the story rolling!. I am now going to get the first book Gone Dutch for Harek and Shauna's story.
You are going to laugh! You are going to cry! Add suspense and sigh! 💖
☀️⛱️ It takes a special man, Nick, to free a shy and feeling-broken soul, Ellen. A lady gingerly embarking on her second chance with her nearly grown daughter, Sam. A modern day knight in shining armour... Add spice, fun, and suspense…
Oh and… you know what Shauna would say!? And you know what you need to do if you don't! 🌻💖
I received an ARC to read and give my honest review… (I might be up to the fourth reading… nevermind!🤔🤭 Have you read Gone Dutch? I am now impatiently waiting for #3… I love these girls!!)
Ellen is painfully shy. It's going to take a special man to win her over. Enter Nick- honest, patient, kind, caring, protective and hot as hell. As their relationship progresses, we learn the two of them together can set the sheets afire.
Can Ellen let go of her fears and overcome the past in order to embrace Nick and the future he could offer Ellen and her daughter Sam? No spoilers here but this is a sweet, spicy and engaging read that I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys reading not so tame romance. You won't be disappointed.
Meet Ellen. Single parent and a shy person. And then meet Nick. Charming, handsome, patient, protective and...hot. After reading this book you definitely wish you were Ellen. So just read it and you know what I mean.
Well written and easy to read. I simply love the way Louise writes, especially because English is not my mother language.
I received an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This second chance romance is book 2 in the series Going Dutch. Divorced Ellen is out with her teenage daughter when she meets Nick. The chapters alternate between Ellen and Nick’s voices and is written as if we are peeking into their diaries and reading their text messages which is kinda cute. How they feel about the romance as it progresses, her nerves, his protectiveness.
For rating content - it does contain sexual content and some swearing.
I applaud any indie author that puts a book out there, knowing from experience how it feels, so well done Louise.
A sweet love story that heats up between the sheets. The characters are relatable and you will find yourself rooting for a happy ending. But the unexpected twists will keep you on edge wondering what is going to happen next and if a lasting love is in the stars for these two.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed are my own and I have not been compensated for this review.
Sweet with heat is the perfect description! This was a lovely read filled with romance, steamy moments, and relatable, lovable characters who you can’t help but root for. As someone who is shy and anxious at times, I related strongly to Ellen’s character and I appreciated that Nick was endlessly supportive and always trying to love her in the way she needed to be loved. Their relationship was easy to root for right off the bat. If you like sweet and sexy romances, give this book a read, you won’t regret it.
I found this easier to get into then the first one for several reasons. The first being that it was written in first person which meant we got to explore the characters perspectives more in depth than the first, which was in third person. The second i found Ellen a lot more relatable to Shauna with her being a bookworm and quite introverted. Overall this was quite a good read and i really enjoyed. Thank you for my copy even if my review was late.
This book makes for a great holiday read! It's a little sweet for my taste but I enjoyed it. If you like your romance warm and fuzzy, you will love this book, and indeed the series.
I was gifted an arc by the author in exchange for a honest review. Unpaid promotion.
This book was really enjoyable. It does contain sexual content and some swearing.
It tells the story of Ellen, a very shy woman who is raising a teenage daughter and she meets Nick. Their relationship grows and its a lovely romance.
Ellen is extremely relatable. For myself I really connected to her as I'm shy myself and find it hard to trust and open up to new people. Nick is just an amazing guy. He treats Ellen just how she should be treated.
If you like romance with a bit of spice to it I'd recommend checking this one out.
It is technically the second book in a series, but I've not read the first one yet and I was able to follow this really easily.
