4 short stories by Jeremy Waldron - HOSTAGE. This was my first read by this author but I have read all 4 shorts now and about to start His SAMANTHA BELL SERIES. His writing style is crisp and to the point. It’s hard to get an adequate story with detail in a short story but he does it. All 4 books are less than 65 pages each. #1 The HOSTAGE involves a bank robbery with a twist. It ends satisfactorily and the protagonist, Jackson Payne, has his own series. #2 CONFESSED TO MURDER. Detective Alex King is investigating. A woman is murdered. Her fiancé says he killed her but did he? He has a twin brother with identical DNA. Did he do it? It is a very well done ‘who done it’ and all within 50 pages. #3 THE DEADLY AFFAIR. You can’t trust anyone. Especially, not your lover’s wife. I mean why would you? #4 SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL. $50,000 is the prize. She is in cahoots with a friend who is helping her escape the man holding her in his thrall. But she didn’t know it would involve murder. Even with a plan, she had to be careful. These 4 books are all worth a read. Get them all and treat yourself. Mr. Waldron might just be the next mystery writer on my favorite list.
