They call us The Devils…
And I’m the queen of Hell.

Kane

I’ve finally gotten everything I’ve ever wanted…
But Bianca is still standing in my way.

Evangeline unlocked the gates to my happiness.
Together, we’re going to set Atlas free and live sinfully ever after.
My perfect family is just within reach.

Evangeline
The Devils won’t stop until they have every piece of me...
I fulfilled every dare they threw my way—the Devil name is mine.
But they have another offer I’m not sure I can refuse.

My trauma-bred instincts are telling me to keep my distance, but the Devils are worming their way into my heart. Ricky’s slick tongue and wicked grin keep me rooted with words like mine. Atlas and Kane are beginning to feel like everything to me. And then there’s Ezekiel…

Can I let myself be vulnerable enough to trust the Devils?

Dare to Trust is the second of five books in the contemporary reverse harem series, The Devils Playground. This series contains sins of the flesh in abundance, questionable morals, and sexy men worthy of The Devil title. Trust them. I dare you…

Joanne Ganci is a hopeless romantic that more than anything wants to bring joy to the world. Whether that be through the words on the pages of her books or a friendly gesture to a stranger.

She's a bit quirky and rather anti-social, but through the characters that demand to have their stories told she is working on cracking out of her shell and emerging as a semi-dysfunctional pterodactyl. Bet you thought that was going to say butterfly. Nope, that'd be normal and Joanne is quite the opposite.

Fueled by the love of her family, she embarked on the journey as an author and somehow hasn't panicked her way into quitting. Let's hope she keeps the crazy tamped down and continues on her journey.

The twisted tale continues!! Evangeline and the guys are still trying to gather intel to fight Bianca and Jacqueline. Those two are so vile!! While Evangeline’s relationship grows with Kane, Ricky and Atlas, a new development with Ezekiel adds to the group as does the ever fickle Gage. A discovery with Stephen is made as well. But the heartbreak in what’s gets me here. And I’m praying that karma will show her face in the next segment!

For some reason, I was so sure this series was originally intended as a duet, but maybe I'm just crazy and made it up in my head.. but honestly? I kind of wished it was a duet and not a five part series...

Because this book fell short compared to the first book.. the first one was just so good, but this one, I just felt it was ether unnecessary drama that was being pulled out to far, like the Atlas drama, the whole thing with Ricky honestly just seemed unnecessary, but this is what happened when you decide that you need to make a million books instead of just focusing in on the really great original story that was started..

This is another "The magic of discovery" thing again.. where I'll continue reading on hopes that a) it ether gets better or b) just to see how this ends.. but I seriously don't understand how the author expects to make 3 more books out of this story.. I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of unnecessary fillers and drama from now on.

If you thought the first book in this series was good....you ain't read nothing yet.
It's just gone 2am and I've just finished this book
To say that I'm not ok is an understatement..but boy was this book work every emotion and every tear. Think of it like a scene that's bringing forth every single emotion you've bottled up. Now that's how cathartic this story is.
Thank you Joanne for putting me through the wringer.
Right that's enough about my emotions what can I say about the book without giving away anything? There's fun times, emotional times and then there's WTAF wreck me emotional times. I've cried so much Ive got a stitch and goodness knows how bad my book hangover will be tomorrow.
Can Evangeline find her love and happiness? Can all the Devils work together or will there still be tensions? What do you think?? And what happens with Bianca.....not what I was hoping for that's for sure. - I guess being hung drawn and quartered or tarred and feathered is going out of fashion these days.
Look I can't say what's gone on without spoiling it so just bloody read it x

Just when I thought the first book couldn't get any better Dare to Trust book 2 just stepped it up a notch. Some of The Devils seemed to change in this book and we got to read more of their emotional sides. Especially more so with Atlas & Kane who genuinely made my heart hurt. Atlas' mother and Bianca were truly despicable. I honestly hated them. I did like how Ezekiel got to show more of himself in this book. The dynamic between him and Evangeline changed for the better I think. I also loved Derek/Wiz. Can we please have more of him? On the other hand Stephan just needs a good slap. I can't work out what his problem is? Hopefully we find out in a future book?

I can't praise this series up enough and that ending was knockout!! Saying that so was the whole book. I'm dying for the next one now. A bloody great read

addicting

This story is so addicting. Evangeline’s connection with so many of the Devils just makes this story flow. But of course she can’t stay happy. Her past trauma really shows in this book. When one thing goes wrong she reacts in anger and destroys the good in her life so she can’t hurt. And her friend Grace really sets it off in this book. But as Evangeline lets her trust issues take over she also has her heart broken as Atlas can’t be saved and is forced to leave. This book end sadly, where so much has blown up and she’s doing the one thing she’s good at. Running. Can’t wait to see what’s going to happen to Atlas and Kane and how Ricky is going to fix things with Evangeline. Plus they now have Grace and also Stephan drama.

On the Fence!!

I absolutely loved the first book! The main female character was kick ass, a total badass, sinful and delightful! All of the main male characters were scandalous, devious, manipulative but I fell in love with each of them! This second book I feel like I didn’t even know any of them. I understand the concept of a build up or character development, but to completely change the dynamics threw me for a loop. I am waiting for the 3rd book before reserving my complete judgement, as I am hoping that we see some of the characteristics and fight come back to the group.

Speechless ( spoiler-ish)

I’m so emotional and upset after finishing that book. Like I knew there would be more books so stuff would go down to extend the story but my goodness I didn’t see everything just falling apart like this. I’m not sure I care either for how it will play out. Maybe in a few days I will want the next book.

So now that I got the personal feelings out of the way. Good book. I recommend. If you were invested from the last book just be warned things go off the rails. Enjoy.

Second book in the if you dare series, starts off where first one ended. The guys want more of Evangeline, but she is still learning how to trust and to rely on other people. With a second job now, she has a lot going on and the forces that are testing her and her guys relationships? — makes my heart break for Atlas, Kane and her. then there’s Ricky that has been keeping a secret but won’t come clean on what it is yet. But at least now she has Ezekiel she can lean on too. Evangeline is putting her heart on the line, will she make it out in one piece?

OMG. This book is so good but it totally destroyed me! I mean that ending – what a cliff-hanger and I really really need to know what happens next! I love Evangeline and her strength throughout this as well as the various different dynamics with the men in her life. I loved Mama Millie and I hope we have more of her in the future books (I kinda want to be her when I am older if I am honest!). I can’t wait to see what is next in store for the Devils but I know it will be worth the wait!

Wow....I'm speechless. What a book!

I thought I loved the first one but this one just topped that! You learn more about the devils, and you can't help but love them. There is more emotion, more steam, more secrets revealed, everything is just MORE. I think this was the perfect addition to this series!

But....that ending?!? Warning! Cliffhanger ahead.
I can't wait for the next book. I need to know what happens!

Brilliant read. I am loving the devil's!
Evangeline has proved she has what it takes to become a devil, but now that she has the keys to hell she finds that things were not as they seemed and she needs to watch out for the knives aimed at her back.
The devil's have much to overcome and with an Angel by their side, they can only win.
Brilliant read. Can't wait for the next

Dare to Trust is a fantastic addition to this series. Evangeline’s relationship with her Devil’s continue to grow. I really enjoyed the dynamics she had with each of them throughout the book. I couldn’t stand Bianca and Jacqueline, I have no words for these two. A sensational story and with that cliffhanger ending it definitely left me wanting more. I can’t wait for the next book!

This book is full of steam, swoony moments and heartbreaking ones. Evangeline and her guys are out through a lot in this book! She gets closer to one of the guys and further away from another. Bianca and Atlas’s mom are terrible! I really feel for him! I absolutely love this series and more then ready for book three!

Obsessed with this series!

This series has been so hot! I really love how Joanne has built these characters and their relationships. She has you rooting for some of the characters, feeling their feelings, and loving even the side characters. She does a great job with the plot! Can’t wait for the next one!

Whoa

A perfect continuation from book 1. This book launches right into what happens next for Evangeline and her men. And what a ride it is (pun intended). This book hit me more in the feels than book 1 but in a good way. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

This book was raw, dirty, gritty and will hit you where it counts. Things are developing more between Evangeline and her men and the story is unfolding more. I can't wait till the next book and see how things continue to play out.

I couldn't wait to get to book 2 because Ganci did such a good job with book 1 but of course, disappointment sets in when I realize that book 2 was filler to the max!!

For literally 37 chapters Evangeline is really just having sex. She has sex with Gage once, but for most of the book she literally bounces between having sex with Atlas, to having sex with Kane, to having sex with Ricky, to having sex with Kane & Atlas. It got to the point where I wanted a new guy to be added so I didn't have to read the same content over & over. Evangeline was so dick-whipped that by the time we got to the point where Ezekiel finally caved, I didn't care.

Personal Opinion: This is really pissing me off! What's the deal with all these female authors creating these female characters with a default setting to be an obedient pet when it comes to sex?!? The amount of times Gage called Evangeline a greedy slut grated my last nerve, and the fact that Ganci made her like it was even worse. The amount of times Ezekiel would give her a command & called her a good girl for it made me want to throw my kindle against the wall. I understand that some women like the whole Sub/Dom thing, but not all of us like to be controlled sexually, let alone constantly reading that particular brand of smut. There are few women who are going to tell you that they want to be disrespected, or called, a whore, a slut, a bi***, or a sex kitten, during sex or otherwise. The way Ganci created Evangeline's character, you would think she wouldn't be so eager to be submissive. Not to mention, the only time I read about a man being the sub is when he's being dominated by a man. What the he** is that about? It seems to be a running theme with a lot of female authors, & quite frankly, I'm sick of it.

I digress.

As far as romantic entanglements go, I only cared about the guys. Kane & Atlas were the only couple that gave me real chemistry. Ricky revealed that he goes with the flow in the bedroom, & I loved that. Ezekiel revealed how he & Kane fooled around & my interest was piqued, especially considering how the book ended. I got a feeling were going to get more from those two in the future.

I know that Grace came off a bit clingy & unhinged, but she had a point. The more Evangeline kept going to the club to have sex with one of the guys (or answer their booty calls) the more she wasn't showing up to work. Evangeline was such a go getter in book 1. She was solely focused on growing her company, but she let sex override her priorities. It annoyed me.

Also, after she went to go visit Kane's mom, she said she was going to take some time to her self away from the guys, which I completely agreed with considering how far up their as*** she was, but the moment she gets back into town she allows Ezekiel right back into her bed. Then at the end of the book when Atlas leaves, I thought she decided to take that time for herself, but nope. She actually turn into a emotional mess & begged Ezekiel to take her away. It's like the Evangeline we got to know in book 1, was replaced with this Walmart version. Disappointments all around.

I gave 3 stars for Kane's parents who were awesome, Grace for calling Evangeline out, Derek for comic relief, & Bianca. When Bianca confronted Kane (which was a calculated move in the best way) & said "May the best bi*** win." I started loving her character. You have to admit, even though I know she's the antagonist, she's good.

If Ganci made this story into 3 books instead of 5, this would be an amazing series. I got a feeling that book 3 & 4 is going to be a bunch of unnecessary drama, & touchy-feely filler crap, & we wont get a conclusion until the end of book 5.

Because no author has done that before.....😒 give me a break.
