They’re opposites in every way. Can this headstrong pair reconcile their differences and write their own happily ever after—on and off the page?
Journalist Megan Woods knows that fairy tales don’t come true. So when a handsome stranger shows up to rescue her from a blind date gone wrong, she figures there has to be a catch. Turns out, he’s her newest competition at the newspaper. Megan thinks she has the editor-in-chief position sewn up, until the annoyingly good looking Finn Avery appears to steal her promotion.
As far as she’s concerned, their relationship is strictly business. But Finn is not anything like she expected. She just has to convince her heart not to fall for the enemy.
Finn Avery is looking for a fresh start. He moved to Wild Harbor as the town’s newest reporter, only to find out he’s been paired with spitfire Megan Woods. Finn needs to prove himself as a reporter, and that means winning over his gorgeous coworker, even though she’s immune to his charms. Finn’s past holds secrets that have taught him not to take a chance on love. Romance is the last thing on his mind.
When their boss assigns the pair to cover Wild Harbor’s biggest summer event, Finn has to find a way to keep his head in the game, without letting his heart fall. Both fiercely competitive, they’re opposites in every way. But when they’re forced to team up for a story, the sparks fly.
Can Finn let go of his past in order to risk his heart again? Can Megan find her happily ever after in the arms of her fiercest opponent?
Summer Nights in Wild Harbor is the second novel in the Wild Harbor Beach series. These stand-alone sweet romances can be read in any order and are set in Wild Harbor, a quaint small town full of happily ever afters.
Grace Worthington is a three-time award-winning author who lives and breathes sweet closed door romcoms. A former musical theatre gal and playwright, she brings that same energy, heart, and comedic timing to her stories, crafting witty banter and lovable characters you can’t help but root for. She holds a master’s degree in psychology and human development and has also completed graduate studies in creative writing. Her inspiration comes from charming coastal towns and classic romcoms from the ’80s and ’90s. When she’s not writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids.
This is is the second book in the Wild Harbor Beach series but is read as a standalone. Finn and Megan will grab your heart and take you on one wild ride. They are as opposite as can be and fierce competitors. This is a small town romance centered around the local newspaper. Megan's grandfather had been involved in the paper in the past and it was her dream to follow in his footsteps. That dream took another path when Finn was hired to work at the paper. This was a cute romance that shows that opposites do attract. I read a free advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
This was a refreshing read. It centers around Megan and Fin two colleagues who have to work together who are going for the same promotion. It’s a slow burn romance with obstacles.
Ms. Worthington has written another fun story in the Wild Harbor series—this one about Megan and Finn, a likable couple trying to fight their attraction to one another while competing for the same job as editor of the town newspaper. While I enjoyed the first book in the series better, this one still kept my attention from start to finish, and gave me the happy-ever-after that I always look for in my romances. There were a few creepy characters in this story, and it amazed me that Megan was able to see through the first one so clearly right away, but actually kept hanging out with the other one, the son of the mayor, who got on my last nerve. All in all, this book was a good addition to the series, and I recommend it for a light afternoon read. I received a copy of this book from the author, and have given my voluntary and honest opinion.
In this Wild Harbor Beach book, we get Megan and Finn’s story. Finn is Megan’s new co-worker and is up for the job she wants, editor-in-chief at The Wild Harbor newspaper. They first meet while she’s on a blind date with Jeff, which her roommate, Aspen, set up. She wishes he was her blind instead of Jeff, lol. As they start working together at the paper, their feelings grow, but Megan has her walls up and doesn’t plan on letting any man tear them down. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say I’m loving this series centered around the Woods siblings and I can’t wait to read the next book.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I really enjoyed this book and the relationship between Megan and Finn. They are both journalist for the same paper. Finn has just moved to Wild Harbor Beach and is trying to win over Megan while they try to work together. They both have trauma in their pasts, Finn losing his brother and Megan having health issues. They both have to learn to let other people into their pasts. They both find ways to build a relationship that is so sweet and full of love. I love how Finn is ready to be there for Megan and ends up saving her in more than one way. I can't wait to read the next book. I love this series!
Not as good as the first one. Again, Megan just drove me nuts! For an educated woman with a logical intellect her behavior was horrible. If you want a story about a woman who doesn’t know her own heart here it is. She can’t even admit to seasickness, for crying out loud, in case someone should judge her as weak. What utter nonsense. Finn, on the other hand , is why I kept reading. Also, Joshua keeps me involved with this family. I love Wild Harbor so I’ll continue with the series, but I seriously hope all the Woods siblings aren’t as annoying as Lily and Megan.
Do you like carousels-riding &/or watching? Well this book will give you both. Finn comes to town to work at the town paper with the hopes he will be the next Editor-in-Chief. Megan has already worked for the paper since college with the same hopes. Ups and downs are extremely common with the two of them and their past histories. It’s a wonderful story with loving family and friends. I highly recommend it. I received a copy of this book for my honest review.
Grace Worthington has done it again. She has given us a wonderful book and love story. Megan wants to be named editor in chief when her boss Dale retires. Finn is hired as a new reporter who is aiming for the editor's job. Dale keeps pushing them to cover stories together, loved when they rode in the parade in costume. This is a heartwarming feel good book. I loved it!
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet slow burn. I loved how Finn and Megan fell for each other slowly. The small town feel was really nice. I liked the drama with Harrison and it was quite fun. I also enjoyed the hint of tough topics the book took but didn’t make it over take the story. I loved seeing other characters from the previous books in the series. Loved the family dynamic. Awesome romance. Highly recommend.
I really loved this book. I really fell in love with the character. I had a hard day at work one day while reading this book and this book captured me in and took me into the world. It helped me forgot my bad day. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to escape life for a little bit. I couldn’t put down this book.
PS: I read this book without reading the first book. I might need to read the first book now.
The story revolves a beautiful harbor in a small town. The newspaper is very much a stabilizing factor for its residents. Now a gifted writer is the only writer. Her grandad had been head of the newspaper and it thrived. Now the paper is in need and she wants to be the new editor. But then, a new person is hired by the newspaper and things begins to get interesting
Megan and Finn are both wanting the same thing, or so they think. They are at odds from the beginning. All the Wild Harbor residents are very well written and really draw you into their town and lives. An amazing story that needs to be read. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Megan Woods worked for the newspaper in her home town for four years hoping to get the editor job. Finn Avery came here for the same reason but didn't know that Megan had been there working for the newspaper and after the same thing. Meg and Finn met seven years before and kissed but that didn't work for him because he's brother. But Finn falls big time for her but she's too scared.Great read😊😁
Loved the story. Totally aggravated at Megan most of the time, but she finally stopped competing long enough to focus. A couple of things seemed to get lost in the end but it was still a great story. I enjoyed Joshua 's character, though he wasn't in this story as much as he was in the first book. Hope to read next book soon.
Our heroine is the proverbial workaholic who is trying to hide pain and loss with her never say die manner. This story is full of angst, reaching for the stars above all else and knockdowns. It takes a very special person to craft such an emotional tale on this roller coaster called life. Cudos for a great job.
I like reading about characters that have common foibles to which I can relate. Combine a believable story with characters that live out their faith or at the least want to believe that God wants to make a difference in their life and you have a winning combination that is both uplifting and entertaining.
So 2.5 rounded to 3. It was okay, but I wouldn’t recommend it. If you like Christian romances you might like, but I felt like we switched POVs in the middle of a certain POV’s chapter and it was jarring. Don’t understand how they were in love by the end since they spent most of the book avoiding each other. I got this free during stuff your kindle day.
Megan and Finn may have felt an instant attraction to each other but the secrets they keep, keep them apart. I enjoyed this small town romance because of the characters and the situations they found themselves in.
249 pages and 240 of it was the main characters being insufferable. Megan had no balls and it felt like she was always “poor me”. She used her past trauma and medical diagnosis as an excuse. Finn wasn’t much better. I didn’t really enjoy it.
This was definitely a fun little story. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first as far as chemistry and storyline go but I did still enjoy reading it, especially the ending.
I recently found this author and have read all but the last of the Wild Harbor Beach series! Love these books and love her writing ……love stories with none of the smut! Hope she continues to write more books as I really love her stories!
Grace Worthington wrote a beautiful book. Finn and Megan are the main characters in this book. They work at a newspaper—both wanting to be the next editor. Jeanette Stracner
An enjoyable story of two people too blind to see how suited they are. While this story was a bit predictable, the unfolding story was compelling. Be prepared to examine your own values as you are faced with challenges and dark stories that the main characters carry with them.
Nice to hear another one of the Woods children getting a happy beginning not too long after Lily got her high school sweetheart back in book 1. As someone who also thought they couldn’t have children despite caring for kids deeply, I understood Megan’s feelings.
It took me forever to get through this book. There were so many plot holes, and the story kept jumping all over the place. The “romance” felt forced, and the characters were bland. I kept putting it down and coming back to it weeks later, but it never got any better.
