An ancient evil has come to Old Ironbound—is it a dragon or is it something else?
Ymir has obtained six of the eight Akkiric rings—the rings that allowed Aegel Akkridor and his wives to live for a thousand years—but the more he studies, the closer he comes to learning the secret behind the great vempor’s death.
A secret that may mean death for Ymir and his wives as well.
With a murder in Four Roads, his supply of xoca beans gone, new information about the Fayee, a demon king on the march, and rumors of a dragon, Ymir barely has time to please his women and flirt with the Princept of the school. Are these distractions from the destruction to come, or will Ymir need all the help he can get to face the darkness descending on Old Ironbound?
Disclaimer: Barbarian Dragonslayer is a steamy slice-of-life harem adventure in a magic university on another world. The sex scenes are explicit but don’t get in the way of the story as it slowly unfolds. Enter a dark fantasy world from the mind of Aaron Crash, the bestselling author of the American Dragon series.
This series just keep getting more powerful with every book, and this book 5, I think is my favourite so far. Ymir and his ptoor are confronting evil from many sides as Old Ironbound is being threatened and Ymir is damned if he would let anyone damage his home or hurt his wives. He is doing his utmost to forge the seventh Akkiric ring, he has six of these already and his powers have grown enormously but Ymir won't stop before he has all eight rings. This 7th ring is proving to be quite a challenge and is taking a lot of Ymir's time studying in the library, time he could have spent having sex with his wives who were all needy at the moment as each had lost a parent in the games of the Kurzig Durgha and each was handling her grief in her own way. The event had ripped them apart especially as they had lost their Ribby and Ymir would do anything to get her back to them. Apart from this his supply of xoca beans is gone, a demon king is said to be on the march, a murder has been committed in four roads and rumours of a dragon were doing the rounds. A dark time was coming to Ironbound but will Ymir prevail? He would need all the help he could get and his wives by his side. Ymir felt that his life had become one of legend suddenly full of demons, dragons, fairies and angelic warriors. He also found out that the fairies were up to something and that was why the Queen was hanging around the Majestrial for so long. Ziziva was rebelling, she hated being ostracised by Ymir's wives and was jealous wanting to be accepted to form part of his harem and not just be a business partner. Can Ymir see to everyone's needs and see this scholastic year through successfully. I loved the thrilling read, there is so much going on in this fast paced book and of course the great sex scenes add to the excitement but be warned these are explicit and for a mature reader to enjoy. I cannot wait to read the next book which will take us to Ymir's final year at Ironbound and to the casting of his final Akkiric ring.
We finally get another book in this series, and it’s a doozy! Action: yes, magic: yes, sex: yes, bad-assery all around: yes! But above all, we finally have some answers! Yes! On top of that, we have some extra growth! Not only in plot (history, current events, personal issues, etc.), but in characters, relationships, magic, strength, armies, ghosts, snarky mermaids, princes, sneaky fairies, world events, chocolate, and… babies! Ohhh Yeah! A page-turner for sure, and what feels like the we’re starting to head up that ol’ climax trail. (Not _that_ one - they hit that one repeatedly. I mean the other one. With the the plot.) Definitely a must for fans of the series. Those new to Ymir and his bodacious crew really need to start at book one, as there’s just been too much going on to start here. Definitely recommended for harem-lit fans (18+) - others may find it a tad spicy.
This one was actually a 5 star read for me… most of the books teetered between 3.5-4 stars… most of the time I was getting angry at one thing or another, but the thing I must admit is Crash writes a fantastic story… even though he aggravates me to no end at times with the choices his characters make… I still find myself loving the books. This one though, was very special… to have the books tie in with Steven just made me smile… I’m sorry, it just did… during the fight all I could think of was Drokharis 😂🥰. If Ymir is able to retain these skills and use animus I will moonwalk and kickworm. Also, I can’t say how many triggers these books have… these fairies are a bunch of you know what’s with their “hands on” the dust in your face and forget approach… lol that just may be frowned upon considering Dr Hecliff Huxtable did some time for this 🤪😋. Also I must say the covers are soooo much better than the American dragons…. But this cover was a little confusing… I take it the cover was dillyday and jacinta? The American dragon covers was just insane lol… everyone was an elf and Steven was a skinny whelp instead of this hunky steroid brickhouse as people described him as. Anyways, onward lads!
So, if you've gotten this far in the series you obviously like it too. I gotta say, almost five stars. There's a part where he mentions Ribby visiting, then in the next breath practically she's living somewhere nearby instead. It was just confusing the quick change. One or two other shaky spots, but overall I still greatly enjoyed. The lack of anyone from the flying race still makes me sad, but perhaps that will change in the next one. I can see not having it though because the Fayee are the center piece this book, and the pace might have been too much, there were already a lot of characters. Still lacking a fetish in the smut that would make it perfect, but the author does push the envelope with the Fayee kink of choice, so there is that. Can't wait to read more, I hope we get more from the author soon.
"Conan Goes to Magic College" continues, and remains strong and entertaining. If you read up to this point you know what to expect, and the depth of the characters continues to improve with each book.
I see one more book for sure, but I hope it isn't too much more than two more books, or the story will get diluted. As it is I look forward too the final year/ring at the Magisterial, and possibly one more book for Ymir and the Ptoor to carve out their empire.
In Book 5, Ymir finally leaves the school...for a three hour boat tour. I was hoping more would come out of the girls' family reunions as none of them appear to have gotten much closure. Also, I don't really get the logic of recreating the process that Gulnash used to make the Crystal Null ring in order to create a completely different ring. Anyway, it was entertaining, but I'm ready to close this out.
Always enjoy seeing a new release in this series and Dragonslayer is no different. More secrets abound, new allies and enemies and another addition to Ymir's family.
But with new world events occurring, I can't wait to see what will happen during Ymir's Dominist year and Old Ironbound!
Ymir is getting more powerful as he forges more rings. His wives have also gained power. They will need it as dragons, royals, fairies, and babies ensue. The series becomes more and more gripping. I could feel the emotions of Ymir and his wives. I like the action, humor, and love. I look forward to the next book.
This one had more twists and turns than all the previous added together. Interesting crossover at the end. You have to read this and then frantically wait for the next one.
The characters are well written. It feels like your there experiencing the story first hand the way it’s written.I recommend this book to anyone who loves a story with fighting, magic, drinking and fucking.
I can't wait to read the continuing adventures of Your and his women. The story is so fun. I also like how the author stuck a little of the American Dragon in this book. Nice job!
How many wives? It gets to be a blur since there Will be more. I think in the end they all get pregnant! Even the princept. Be interesting what he has to conquer next.
It's all coming together as we see just what a dragon has to do with the world events and how gathering even more wives will help bring the ring forging closer. 2nd last book and the end is near to a great series.
Another solid book. I enjoyed "catching" the professor finally and the dragon storyline was interesting. Sex is frequent and graphic though the fairy's taste are less to my liking.
