I keep picking up these high school romance novels where one of them comes from the future 😂. I swear it's not on purpose!! Why are they so good??
The plot was good, although nothing new for this genre. But it had a huge plot twist at the end that made me forget that I have read another 30 novels similar to this one 😂.
If I'm being honest, my rating was mainly because I liked MC. He's such a relatable character. He has faults and made a lot of mistakes in his past life, but you can't hate him for it. I especially liked his attitude after transmigration, and his innocence even though he's the older one. His interactions with family and friends were heartwarming. I cried after finding out the details of his death and all the hardships of his past life. The extra chapters were an alternative universe and I sobbed while reading that crap 😭.

This is exactly the type of mildly face-slapping, learning-to-appreciate-life, adorably-awkward rebirth novel that I love. The characters were wonderful, an interesting mix of cute and black bellied. The story had just enough plot to keep it going, and some mystery about the circumstances of the rebirth that eventually gets resolved at the end. Overall, a wonderfully entertaining read.

I seem to say this with almost all of the novels I've read this year but this is my favorite one so far and is almost on par with my favorite danmei novels of all time, even if it is much simpler in nature. I've been devouring danmei novels in this genre for the last few months, in the cuter meant to be together romance side of modern danmei. These novels aren't as complicated and full of scheming plans and I seem to really enjoy them, something that was reflected in this one as well.
Regarding the plot, it isn't ground breaking but I found the whole reincarnated with goals to help the family really interesting, since many rebirth novels where the characters already knew each other seem to be all about the romance, but here the protagonist had not considered the ml as a potential partner at all after rebirth, nor anyone for that matter, as his focus wasn't on relationships. He just happened to fall in love when least expecting to, and that love ended up being returned.
Chi Fang as a main character is very likeable and while I still think some of his characteristics feel a bit superficial, it's pretty easy to connect with him. He is also really smart, maybe not reflected by school grades in the beginning, but his effort creates results and he manages to fix things that in his previous life went wrong due to his smart way of thinking. Yu Mo is also a pretty nice ML, while he is more introverted and to an extent where he doesn't even give face to people who he doesn't consider important, he can also be really sweet and loving, showing concern for Chi Fang without even being aware of it.
I really like this couple, I feel like in every possible universe Chi Fang and Yu Mo would find a way to each other.
The writing is not bad, the story is well driven and most ideas have a conclusion. I wish the novel's conclusion was less abrupt, I feel like we only got to see a glimpse of an happy ending before the author showed us bits of their past life or the parallel universe thing (which was appreciated, I just got a bit sad :( ). The extras are okay but I do wish we got a better conclusion for the actual novel. i also wish we got a bit more of Chi Zheng and Xu Guang - they're perfect model boyfriends okay. The novel's translation is mostly edited mtl so keep that in mind when reading, it won't be perfect, it won't make sense at times, but it's better than having to mtl it yourself and it's worth it. The 2nd half of the translation is actually better than the 1st one.
I was intrigued enough by this novel to keep reading it until 3-4 am every night for 4 days so yeah, it's good at catching attention.
Overall, I really enjoyed this novel. I hope more people give it a chance, I might even re-read it in the near future.

It’s a very good school based story complete with comedy, realistic tragedy, supportive families and multiple sweet BL romances. The author told a full and entertaining story without significant open plots in under 100 chapters. It’s worth reading once and reading a second time for the adorable romantic scenes!
The standard bullies, vindictive love rivals and unscrupulous business competitors are included only taking minor roles in the storytelling for completeness. The cliché dialogue is few making the story feel closer to reality.
The main and secondary characters are well developed and enhance the story. Insignificant characters are introduced, then, dropped when no longer needed without repeatedly appearing to fill out chapters except the school beauty, the designated white lotus gold digger and heterosexual cannon fodder in this BL romance. She got stale very quickly.

Wholesome light read would recommend
uh there is supposedly a kinda big mental age gap cus Chi fang is supposed to be 20 something while Yumo is 17-18 but Chi fang acts like a child most of the time anyway? the adultness (?) does come out some of the time when he’s dealing with schemes by children but it’s not obvious i don’t mind it
Yumo having an entire forum behind him as a advice giver is mega funny

Cute fluff but another one you kind of have to brainlessly read because if you think about it too hard it doesn't make any sense. Yu Mo's "fear" of Chi Fang seems like one of those conclusions you'd expect a stupid and naive protagonist to come to but maybe that's just me. It flies by really fast though and was very pleasant to read.

Didn't take too long to read this book. It was a fun quick read and I enjoyed the ending. Wouldnt mind reading it again in the future.

pros: very sweet and light read, i liked the mcs and the side characters (chi fangs friend and both of their families), the pacing was fine
cons: mental age gap of 10 years which is addressed every now and then but then also completely glossed over, also another bigger age gap in the extras which is yu mo going back in time and which i did not read bc of that, yu mo being in love with chi fang for no reason in the og timeline and also just having an interest in him bc of that one time when they were kids?? unsatisfying and seemed odd, mc is technically like 27 most of the novel but its obvious to not make it weird they wrote him to act just like a teenager which made the age gap not as jarring but also just seems to excuse it

satisfying read for a slow romance. because the setting is almost cover up during high school, so the characters mainly studies for exams which is quite refreshing for me after reading all those heavy plot full of drama novels.
i guess if you're looking for some light and fluff reading, this might be the one for you. dont expect complex storyline

I rarely put 5 stars for the slice of life, so this books is really something.
I love the rebirth stories and this one is one of the best ones. The ending and extras are also quite meaningful and help to make up thoughts about why this rebirth was - it was destiny.
Additionally very happy about the extras. I like how it told about another parallel world. All of the versions of the main couple deserved to be happy.
The story itself is about revenge and school. A bit fun, a bit cute. Mothers are the best!
I like the relationship of the main couple and the pace of the story and romance is just right!
