This multi author series is about Last Chance, Nebraska where a terrible blizzard has left many of the women in the town widows. The decision to send for mail order husbands was the choice these ladies made to not let the town die.

Blaze Murphy is one of the woman who has been left a widow. She lives with her relatives and helps to run the wainwright shop that repairs wagons in town. With the owner of the shop having failing health- Blaze has sent for her own mail-order husband to help keep the shop going. Blaze is surprised when Colt Masterson, the son of the owner shows up in town. She had always had feelings for Colt but he wasn't a man that wanted to be tied down.

When Colt Masterson shows up to help his father in the wainwright shop, he has committed to stay for one year. The deal he made with his grandfather was to win his inheritance. Colt hasn't seen Blaze for over ten years and he is surprised at the beautiful woman she has become. Colt likes his life where he moves from town to town whenever he wants to and he has no plans to ever settle down but........ the thought of Blaze marrying a mail-order husband just doesn't sit right with him.

Sweet story that I was able to read in one sitting.

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.

Is love enough?

Colt and Blaze have secretly been in love with each other for years, but neither admitted it to themselves never mind each other. Colt is a little bit frustrating, he has little self belief and appears easily lead, there are times you are unsure if Blaze should kiss him or shake him. Blaze is feisty and hardworking and your heart goes out to her as she doesn't see her own appeal or the beauty that shines from within.
Both have emotional baggage and have known loss, but can they heal together?
A sweet addition to the Blizzard Brides series, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Colt arrived in Last Chance to help his ailing father’s family with the business. Blaze is waiting for the arrival of her mail order groom. Even though Colt and Blaze are long time friends, Colt doesn’t want to settle down in one place. He is in Last Chance for one year for his inheritance. Is this their chance for love or is Blaze going to marry another man? Great story!
I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

Delightful story. Blaze needs a husband fast, so she signs up for a mail order husband. She knows that she will never love him like she loves Colt, but her family needs someone to take care of the family business. She has always loved Colt, but he was not the settling down type of man. Colt is back in Last Chance for only one reason, his inheritance, but is it the only reason. Can he really settle in one place and give his love to Blaze. Of course, there is always something interfering with the path to love.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

This story had a really cute idea. But a few things kind of ruined it for me.
I really liked the premise of the main characters being old friends and hopefully something more. But the characters spent so much time kissing and alone at night that it didn't seem to fit the historical setting where people were more prim and proper. The author seemed to forget what the Preacher has been like in all the other books in this series; he's forcing everyone to get married and on constant guard against anything resembling sin so it felt like this story didn't match that. At one point, the heroine is outside at night in her nightgown before the man rides them off to a secluded area so they can kiss passionately. Really? This author has some really intriguing plots but it feels like the morals of the times aren't quite matching up, which I don't like.

The author has penned a sweet and heartwarming story full of human frailties and emotions. This is Colt Masterson and Blaze Murphy's story, and the character development is excellent. Blaze is a young widow whose husband died in the blizzard that had taken the life of most of the men of the town. Colt has come to town to assist his father in his business at the request of his grandfather and with the promise of receiving an inheritance from his grandfather if he does. Colt and Blaze spent some of their growing up years in the same household after Colt's father married Blaze's mother. Colt, after clashing with his father, had left home and was somewhat of a wanderer never desiring to settle down. Upon returning to town and getting reacquainted with Blaze old feelings begin to resurface, will Colt change his mind and desire to settle down? What will Blaze do about the mail order groom she had sent for? Will Colt and Blaze be able to resolve all the old emotional baggage that hangs between them and reach a HEA? Will Colt be able to make peace with his father before he dies? Be sure to read this great and fun story; it is a real page turner and I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Colt and Blaze

This is a sweet mail order groom tale written by Laura Ashwood. She has done a super job with the plot and the characters and has plenty adventure and excitement. Colt has been a rolling stone not staying in one place for long. He is father has asked for him to come help with his business as he is very ill. His stepmothers niece live with his family and ten years ago they were best friends. Now he finds she is not that pesky girl with pigtails any longer, a beautiful woman that lost her short time husband in the terrible blizzard. Blaze has been in love with Colt since she was in pigtails and seeing him now as a handsome muscled hunk of manhood brings it all back.you will enjoy discovering how Colt and Blaze find their happily ever after.

A Groom for Blaze

I loved this book about Blaze. She has decided to write for a mail order groom, in order to keep the family business. Then Colt, whom she had fallen in love with years ago, shows up to help. Though there is a strong attraction between them, Colt has no intention on settling down. When Blaze's mail order groom shows up, things really get interesting. Will Colt settle down for Blaze or will he let her marry her groom? This is a well written book with strong characters and a great storyline. You need to read this book to see what happens. I think you will enjoy it!

Love, Lost and Found

This is a beautiful story. Blaze has been in love with Colt for the past10 years. Colt never really got along with his father, but Colt's grandfather sends him to Last Chance to help out as a wheel right. It turns out that Colt's father is very ill and doesn't have the strength to work on the wagons. Blaze lost her first husband in the blizzard and wrote to a man who agreed to become her mail order groom. Unfortunately, when the groom arrives, it's to find out that he's Colt's cousin. Blaze still loves Colt and Colt has confessed his love for Blaze. Colt likes to move around a lot, though, so who will Blaze end up marrying?

An intriguing series that pushes all the right buttons. I read the book that explains the lives and horrid tragedy that devastated this small community in Last Chance, Nebraska.
This story of Blaze and Colt (love those names) has quite the storyline that keeps you reading from beginning to end. The character development was very good with tension coming from not onky son and father relationships, but with cousins that are being manipulated by their grandfather. An enjoyable read with an interesting conclusion/last chapter and epilogue. I read this book with my KU subscription.

A Groom for Blaze is the story of Blaze who has sent for a mail order husband to keep the family business running and Colt a wanderer who is the owner's nephew. This well written story is an interesting twist on the mail order bride. Blaze has loved Colt for ten years but knows he is not ready to marry. Sparks fly as they work together in the family business. A love triangle forms when the mail order husband appears. If you want to know more, you need to read this delightful tale!

A Groom for Blaze

This is a sweet and heartwarming story. Blaze has been in love with Colt Masterson since she first laid eyes on him when they were much younger. Now he has arrived in Last Chance to help at his father’s business and she is a widow. Colt has been a wanderer much like his father was before his mother died. Now his grandfather wants him to settle down and take over for his father. I recommend you read their story.

Ms. Higgins has another book that I enjoyed. Colt & Blaze have a history but Colt left her the first time. Now with his father near death, he has to decide if he'll leave again or stay. His cousin might just make his decision much easier. His grandfather's meddling also influences his decision. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary opinion.

No one should have a friend, much less a cousin like Kent. Marie Higgins takes us back to Last Chance, Nebraska, and the aftermath of the blizzard that that killed most of the men. Blaze needs to marry someone to take over the wainwright shop and help care for her family. She brings her usual humor, interesting story lines and romance to the story. I enjoyed this story.

Love at Home...Sort Of

I found this story interesting for several reasons. The characters were engaging. There definitely was tension in the family, although they worked together. Colt's reason for returning to work with the family business had nothing to do with love. I enjoyed reading how the plot unfolded. A great read.

Very good story!

Colt and Blaze had a great friendship when they were young. He left Last Chance, years ago. He's back in town because of his father's failing health. Their friendship picked up where it had left off the minute they saw each other. But, what happened at the masquerade party?

Blaze and Colt 💞

Blaze needs to marry. The man she’s been in love with for over 10 years, doesn’t want to settle down. Plus he only loves her as a friend. Until they kiss… will Blaze be able to show Colt they are meant for each other?

Loved the masquerade party scene 💕

Great story!

After 10 years of loving Colt, Blaze was about to marry his cousin who had conspired against Colt so he could marry Blaze and inherit their grandfather's estate. How the story was resolved was very satisfying!
