This is an easy book to read with some laugh out loud moments. I've read a couple of the authors books before and enjoyed them, but I thought for a while before requesting this book as I didn't think it would be for me, but I'm glad I requested it. Sally is a bit absent-minded but a nice character. But the swap isn't plain sailing, it's not long before the problems start. The story is told from Sally's point of view. This is a well written and quirky read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Farrago for an advanced electronic copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Sally Marshall is an average woman who performs in an Epiphanie tribute band - that is, until the real Epiphanie shows up at her house asking to trade places for two weeks. Sally will be performing large venues like Madison Square Garden, while Epiphanie will stand in Sally's tribute band, both pretending to be each other. Can they keep up the charade? And when time is up, what life will each of them choose?

I picked up this book because it sounded fun, and it absolutely is. The chapters flowed quickly, and the characters were lots of fun to follow along. There ended up being a huge cast, but they were easily distinguishable. A fun read if you're looking for something a bit lighter!

This book is amazing. It has a very unique plot that I have never seen before. I personally loved the main character and her internal wars with herself. This book also has amazing representation in it. The plot in this book was impeccable. This is the first Beth Miller book that I have read but I will be reading more.

What an absolute joy it was to read this novel. Scratch that last bit, I devoured it. The concept is genius – a tribute artist to the world’s most famous pop star is approached by the actual megastar and asked if she’ll swap places with her for a fortnight. For suburban Sally Marshall and her husband Paul it’s a no-brainer, especially as star Epiphanie also offers a substantial amount of cash – money which just might help Sally and Paul achieve their dream.
Haven’t we all wondered what it would be like to live the high life, that of an A-lister? The adulation, the appearance in magazines and newspapers, the houses, the clothes, the attention, the holidays, not to mention the squillions of dollars/pounds…
But will the world of pop stardom glitter for Sally? And how will diva Epiphanie cope with playing flea-bitten venues to a handful (if she’s lucky) of half-cut punters?
This is a pacey, laugh-out-loud romp, spliced through with thought-provoking meditations on what makes for a good life. Miller’s heroine is an ‘ordinary’ woman doing an extraordinary job, and Sally is a gem of a lead. Throughout the story she radiates warm-heartedness and star-quality in the most authentic sense, and she’s given strong support from a constellation of delightful, memorable characters.
Once again, Beth Miller delivers a warm, witty and poignant story. What a superstar she is. Highly recommended.

I almost gave up on this story. The first three chapters were so repetitive but once they got into the swap, the story really took off. The characters, even the somewhat annoying ones, were lovable and fun. The writing was witty and had me laughing out loud in places. I enjoyed this story so much. It was a quick, easy, read that I would recommend for the perfect escape from every day (or hurricane days with no power).

What a great read! A globe trotting cracker of a novel that transported me into the mind and body of a superstar then took me back to earth and the dishes again! Beth Miller knows how how to pull the heart strings and push the chuffing pace. Blows Marian Keyes out of the water. Fun, original, page turning.

This was such a great read which kept me entertained throughout, I was cracking up at some points.

I loved both the real and fake Epiphanie, I’m sure there’s a few people who would love to step in to the world of their idol and experience their world for a bit.

I enjoyed the authors writing style, so will be catching up on her other books.

I absolutely loved Beth Miller's new novel 'Starstruck'. The premise is a lot of fun and is pulled off with many genuinely laugh out loud moments. Epiphanie is a huge star who approaches Sally Marshall, otherwise known as Me-piphanie, a top-quality Epiphanie tribute act (not impersonator!), with a strange offer. If they switch lives for two weeks, Sally will get a huge amount of money and the chance to play America's biggest stadiums as Epiphanie - it sounds like a dream come true!

I thought the pacey plotting of this made the story addictive. Sally and Epiphanie are both flawed individuals but the swap helps them to learn valuable lessons about themselves through the lens of 'how the other half live'. Sally's husband, Paul, has his slimeball moments, but I ultimately found his relationship with Sally to be heartwarming and rewarding. There are many side characters who shine here too, not least Indigo, Epiphanie's assistant's assistant, and tea and Lidl addicted bodyguard Abraham.

If you want to escape into a funny and uplifting read, I would definitely recommend 'Starstruck'. A joyous 5 stars.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Duckworth Books - Farrago for providing me with a copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sally has been a tribute act for famous singer Epiphanie since forever, so imagine her shock when she comes home from a gig to find her idol (and inspiration) sitting in the kitchen! Epiphanie needs a break and proposes a life swap but will they be able to carry it off?

The book basically got straight down to action. There’s a little back tracking - it often reads like your mate is telling you a story over a couple of pints - but it all works in well to give you some back story and motivation whilst getting to the point of the book quickly. I found the slang a little hard to get through in the beginning. It has a very “jolly hockey sticks” English feel to it and I am not a fan of the word “chuffing”. My personal foible aside, it was an enjoyable and not entirely predictable book. The basic plot went exactly how I thought it would but it took some unexpected and entertaining routes to get there.

What a fun book this was to read. Sally is an ordinary woman who lives in the suburbs. For her fun she performs as a tribute act for a pop star- Epiphanie. Then one day Sally is approached by Epiphanie to trade places with her for a couple weeks. Sally goes from suburban life to megastar life.
What a ride this book was to read. I sailed thru the pages and had a great time reading it. It was just what I needed was a book that made me laugh out loud!
If you are wanting a great escape this is exactly the book you will want to read. You will be so glad you did – I know I was glad I got to read it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Duckworth Books for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

When I first read the synopsis for this book I was really intrigued by the storyline. I have read a lot of life swap books but this one is rather unique. Epiphanie one of the most famous singers of the planet needs a break from the limelight, and asks one of the many tribute acts to swap places with her for 2 week. Sally arrives home and finds Epiphanie sat at her dining table with a proposition of a lifetime.

I really enjoyed this book it was a really good concept and thoroughly entertaining. I laughed aloud a lot of the times whilst I was reading it. Imagine if this happened? Both characters are very easy like and are both on a journey of self discovery. Both are surrounded by amazing friends and entourage. A real entertaining read which I finished in one sitting.

Ever wanted to be famous? Read this book to find out what it is really like.
Needing to escape, the most famous female on the planet finds a tribute act performer to take her place for two weeks. It takes less than the two weeks for the novelty to wear off.
Follow both lives as they adjust to each others reality.
Loved the book. Never wanted to be famous and this confirms it. Beautiful real characters that make you feel for them, even when you know their reality is only for a certain minimal percentage of the population.

Sally Marshall is one in a hundred, Epiphanie is one of a kind.

Sally is just an ordinary woman, but Epiphanie is extraordinary.

Sally is a tribute artist, one of many - but Epiphane is the real thing.

But Sallys normality is shattered when Epiphanie magically appears at her kitchen table and asks her to trade places for a few weeks - just like in the movies. Overnight, Sally has become a global star and Epiphanie is playing in small pubs and drinking with the locals. Sally has spent so long pretending to be someone else and now she has the chance to really BE her will it be everthing she hoped? Or will she find they might not be that different after all...

I'm a sucker for a classic life-swap, but they are definitely starting to feel stale and overdone so I was a little dubious going into this - but Beth Miller has taken something standard and made it SPARKLE. She managed to take all the typical tropes of a genre and turn into something gloriously binge-worthy.

Sally was a hilarious narrator; scatter-brained and utterly bonkers at times but so easy to love almost instantly. Witty, silly, and full of compassion - she was a pleasure to read about. The whole cast of characters were stunning - from Sallys husband and band mate back home to Epiphanies eccentric entourage.

Super easy to read and addictively sassy, this was definitely more that it looks like on the very pretty cover - talking about real human connection, about hope, about family and about real self-reflection. Just like people, this isn't one you should judge by the cover.

I read this entire book in one sitting, and anyone looking for a laugh-out-loud adventure full of heart, this is for you.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Super cute read! This book started out as a fun "switching places" story- super star Epiphanie temporarily trades lives with a tribute singer, "Me-piphanie" aka Sally Marshall, so that she can take a break from the overwhelming fame. In the second half of the book complications occur, of course, bringing some more depth to the storyline. The author can be forgiven for tying things up a little too perfectly. After all, everyone loves a happy ending, and in this book, literally everyone *gets* a happy ending!

I got to read this book on a rainy vacation day, and it hit the spot! My thanks to the author, publisher, and #NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC. #Starstruck

Starstruck is a perfect 'lose yourself in its pages' holiday read.

Told from the point of view of an impersonator - Sally Marshall who impersonates Epiphanie (who is bigger than Beyonce.) Sally arrives home one day and finds the superstar in her kitchen with an offer that no one could turn down - swap places with each other. The story takes place over a few weeks and we find the life swap continuing for longer than Sally wishes.

It's fun, well written and at times it makes you laugh out loud.

'Starstruck' by Beth Miller is a book you don't know yet but believe me when I say you want to read it. This is such a laugh out loud book! A perfect book to take you to another place, it did me.
Sally Marshall performs as a tribute act to a pop star called Epiphanie. An ordinary woman who has always wondered what it would be like to actually be a real pop star with the private jets, performing to packed out concerts. Then the day comes that the ACTUAL Epiphanie offers to swap places with her and even offers her money as well, Sally sees a chance to life her perfect life so takes her up on it. Will Sally be able to cope with the pressure of stardom and how will Epiphanie deal with hardly any work and performing in dumps with drunken people?
A story with two women who aren't perfect and we see how their life swops help them learn valuable lessons about themselves. Beth Miller's characters are natural. Their flaws humanise them so they are really believable. I loved Sally particularly, the ordinary woman with her husband Paul, who we see have his moments that aren't the best but he loves his wife and their relationship is a lovely one. She is so warm hearted and is the real star if the show. There are a number of characters that are memorable, Epiphanie's assistant's assistant, Indigo is one.
This is a perfectly paced, oh so funny book that also gives us moments that are thought provoking about what is a perfect life. I found it a very entertaining read which I sped through in no time. Beth Miller is a skilled author who has a fantastically great imagination and has written a thought provoking and uplifting book that I loved.

Sally has been a tribute artist and has been performing as pop star Epiphanie for years. Epiphanie is the world’s biggest pop star and Sally’s idol. After attending a gig Sally is shocked to return home and find Epiphanie in her kitchen with a proposal. In exchange for $100,000 she wants to swap lives with Sally for a few weeks. Will the swap give them both what they’ve been dreaming of? Ultimately, which life will they prefer?

From the first page I know that I was going to like Sally because she was so funny and down to earth. When she meets Epiphanie for the first time, it’s clear that she’s quite literally star struck, who wouldn’t be after meeting their idol. But they are both very different people, use to very different lives. Epiphanie a famous star and Sally is just a normal person. The interesting part for me was once the swap took place and what came after. Although both characters initially struggled a little with the swap after a short while they effortlessly fitted into each other’s lives. However, as things started to become more complicated you could clearly see that things might not turnout as it had been planned.

I really enjoyed this book. What attracted me to the book to begin with was definitely the synopsis. I wanted to read it from the outset and would pick it up if I walked past it in a bookshop. The concept of a tribute artist and pop star swapping places was absolutely fascinating but as the book clearly showed that the life of a pop star filled with glitz and glamour also has its own pitfalls. I definitely think that Sally was able to fit better into the role of Epiphanie than vice versa. Although Sally was just a tribute artist, her own star worth definitely shone through. However, there were a few tell tale signs where Sally’s own personality came through whilst she was Epiphanie especially because of her love for team her eating habits and the way she treated people. One of my favourite parts was when Sally as Epiphanie started to wave at staff and there were complaints as they didn’t know what to do.

If you’re looking for a read which isn’t too heavy, has an interesting storyline and light humour then this is the book for you!

If you’re looking for something light-hearted and fun but different this weekend then I highly recommend you grab a copy of Starstruck.
I’m sure we’ve all wondered what it would be like to be famous and a celebrity and also maybe what those mega celebrities are really like when they are just being ‘normal’ or if they ever get the chance to just be themselves. Well, Startstruck delves into all these thoughts with a fun, humorous and very entertaining plot.
Epiphanie is a star and Sally is an Epihanie tribute act until she is given the chance to swap lives for a while and earn a huge amount of money to do it. How hard can it be to live the luxury, celebrity life right?
Told from Sally’s perspective this is such a fun and cosy read with lots of laughs when things don’t quite go to plan. The characters are wonderful, and it does make you think about how we view celebrities vs the realities.
Such a fun, well written novel and an author I will certainly be reading again. Highly recommended.

I wasn’t sure about this book when I requested it, but it was a lot of fun! The characters were really interesting, especially the people that surround Epiphanie. Sally was a fantastic character who threw herself playing a role without losing herself in the process. The descriptions of the tour were fascinating, imagine singing in front of 80K fans!

This book had a very fun plot! I liked how Sally got a glimpse of Epiphanie's glamorous lifestyle. It was fun, while also being realistic. It showed some of the downsides to being in the spotlight. This book was funny, quirky and well written. The side characters were lots of fun to follow and they definitely added to the story. Toward the end of the book, I felt the story dragged a little bit, however, I did enjoy the ending. Everything was resolved and there were no loose ends.

Overall, this was fun, quick and easy read with some life lessons as well.

This was such a fun read! The premise of this book is what piqued my interest in the first place and it did not disappoint.

Sally Marshall is an impersonation performer of a star (Epiphanie) who is even bigger than Beyonce. One day she is starstruck by Epiphanie standing in her kitchen, proposing an offer to good to refuse: to trade places with a megastar and make her All-star dreams a reality. This book is well written and gives the reader a deeper understanding of the world behind the scenes of a Popstar and shows that everything isn't always as it seems when you possess all that you could ever dream of. This novel is highly entertaining, funny and a complete breeze to read through, it's a book that you can get lost in and just enjoy the essence of reading without having to figure anything out. If you're looking for a light-hearted and enjoyable beach or travel read, Starstruck is for you!

Sally has made a living as a tribute actor (NOT impersonator!) of the famous pop superstar, Epiphanie. One night, Sally is whisked off the stage to meet with the real Ephiphanie who offers her a chance to change lives for two weeks. Ephiphanie is seeking an escape from her fame and the attention it brings, and Sally's only heart's desire is a child. The money she would get from Ephiphanie's offer would help with Sally's and her husband's fertility issues and offer them a chance at a viable pregnancy and child.

I had thought this would be a grown-up version of Mary Rodger's "Freaky Friday," but was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed the unique storyline. There were many moments of humor, but the strong emotion of the characters reacting to the hard parts of life made this a much more solid story than other "trading lives" books. Great beach read, and especially recommended for readers who enjoy books set in the U.K.
