Welcome to Australia, dickheads.
You’ll love this litRPG western that brings the first arc of the Aussie mana apocalypse to its conclusion. So where the heck are ya?

Great series. The Gap Year 6 group is definitely living up to the name. Discovering adventure and themselves. This series has developed into everything I wanted from a litrpg based on Australia. There is so much untapped lore, history and mythology to lean on. I'm definitely learning alot. In the first book I was hoping for more mutated animals and it definitely delivers. I'm still hoping there will a recreation Great Emu war or the adventures Priscilla Queen of the desert. Just lean into the campiness! Overall great book. I will definitely be reading the next one and I hope this series gets an audiobook! I want to hear the colloquialisms and idioms in their natural accent.
All the books in this series are fun adventures with clean, likable characters and laugh out loud moments. Book three continues to delight, and the author’s growth as a writer shines through as we get multiple plots coming together in a way we haven’t quite seen before.
The series overall and this installment in particular will satisfy any LitRPG fan, folks who like ripping fun adventure stories, and all of us who have fantasized about riding dinosaurs into battle. Or wombats!
DNF. Rated book 2 at 3 stars, so I thought I'd try book 3. Didn't like the characters or writing enough to push through.
A lot of the LitRPG elements also don't make much sense (damage, levels, etc seem arbitrary and how brand new characters are able to basically win fights against what should be higher level / significantly more experienced characters isn't explained or justified - other than plot armor).
This is the third of the series and the momentum keeps building. Great to find an Aussie-themed litrpg. Believable characters, a crazy, fast-paced plot, heaps of Oz-isms, barely bearable puns and just an all-round upbeat, time-eating read. So glad I found Chris Timms - I’ll be hunting down his other books!
OK probably not the most awesome Australian reference but real stakes great characters good system stuff and gives insight into the different world that is Australia
Very Australian. That’s what I’ll say about this series. I think that’s a big pro though, it hits fun beats and is an enjoyable entry in a rich (albeit silly) world.
I listened to the first three volumes of the Aussie Mana Apocalypse as audiobooks. I was crying laughing the entire series! Some of the best books I’ve read in over a decade. The author's humor and comedic timing is impeccable. The voice narrator had sound effects that were remarkable!
The third book in the Aussie Mana Apocalypse sees the scene returning to far western NSW (Australia). The Gap Year Six battle with many monsters and weird critters. The plot moves along nicely with more action than you could poke a stick at. Great read!!
