As the oldest brother, I know I’ve put off marriage long enough. So when my father arranges a bride for me – I agree. No use fighting the inevitable. She’s mine now. Whether she likes it or not.
Dear Reader, John has plans for his wedding night that would make any bride blush. Lucky for us, we don’t mind turning up the heat. Xo, Frankie and Alice
The Dirty Kings of Vegas is a mafia romance series with love at its core. We met the O’Malley clan back in the novel McQueen – but here they are again, ready to show everyone who’s boss! Frankie Love has teamed up with the sinfully sweet Alice May Ball and together they’re ready to roll the dice on love.
Frankie Love writes filthy-sweet stories about bad boys and mountain men. As a thirty-something mom to six who is ridiculously in love with her own bearded hottie, she believes in love-at-first-sight and happily-ever-afters. She also believes in the power of a quickie.
❤️ Get ready to fall in love ... you deserve it! ❤️
3.5 stars - There were a couple of parts that seemed incomplete, like there was supposed to be more to it in an area or two but the authors got sidetracked and never went back to it. Even so, I did enjoy the married-at-first-sight story. It wasn't quite as over-the-top as the prior book in the series but it still had its moments.
John and Keira's wedding night was my second favorite part of this. It was hot and held potential to be even hotter going forward. My favorite part was the trust John placed in Keira's hands. 💙
Keira and John's story can be read independent of the other books in the series but those characters do crossover here and there so reading in order is recommended. I'm looking forward to Liam's novella, which is next. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this story.
The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! Bad boy….check Bod boy’s crazy brother/friend…check Bad boy’s Kryptonie…check ….check and check By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! This is book is part of The Dirty Kings of Vegas series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. John sexy as all get out part of the O’Malley Irish mob in fact, he is the oldest of the boys and not too happy because his father just informed him, he arranged a marriage for him. But he will do everything in his power to protect whomever his father has chosen for him this he knows so he agrees to the set up (as if he had any say in it) Of course he is all grumpy, alpha and going into the arranged marriage with that grumpiness until he saw a picture of the women chosen for him and oh boy does his actions soften 😊 (if that is such a thing for a grumpy..alpha…mafia man). Kiera is the chosen bride to be, due to her family she has always known she doesn’t have a choice in who she marries or where her life will go but she wonders if she will even like who is chosen for her. But the moment she meets John the chemistry is instant and intense, the magnetic pull can’t be ignored but will they actually get along, are they happy to have been chosen for each other and can they find happiness?
Captive Bride is the third book in TYhe Dirty Kings of Vegas series and this one is the story of oldest brother John O'Malley and Kiera McCarthy. John is twenty-nine years old and is the heir to the family business, both legal and illegal, both in Las Vegas where they are based now and back in Boston, where they are from. Now that his two younger brothers are married his father decides it is time for John to also get married and start a family, after all he needs an heir, and preferably a male. So his father arranges a marriage between John and Kiera, the only daughter of the McCarthy crime family back in Boston. Kiera is nineteen years old and is excited to get married to John even though she has never actually met him. It is time for her to get her own life after being close to her father for the last several years and that includes helping him with the family business. She is smart, quick, agile and can understand a lot more than the men in most cases.
This is an OTT, smutty, fun, witty and entertaining story that goes from zero to warp speed in the blink of an eye. Kiera is too smart for John, he is too much of a workaholic and this may not be a happy marriage until something happens that puts it all in perspective for both of them. They grow closer and closer but will that be able to last once John is back at work again? I enjoyed this story, but I did find that their only connection at the beginning was through sex and it is smuttiness in all it's glory. I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see who the O'Malley patriarch finds love with now that all the kids are married off.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we get the story of Kiera McCarthy and John O'Malley. In this book we find that an arranged marriage has been set up between the fathers. The thing is John wasn't sure he even wanted to get married but one look at Kiera and his blood is pumping. When she arrives she arrives in time for their wedding. There is no meeting the bride before the wedding. Will she be all that he wants? Kiera knows there is a lot that isn't talked about in the business dealings of the O'Malley family but she is hoping with this wedding merger it will help both families in some way. When she understands that John is looking more for a wife to take care of his home and nothing else. She realizes she will have to show her husband all she can do. Can these two find a HEA or will the roles they are put in make sure there is a permeant wedge between them?
Another amazing short story but these authors. These characters really draw you in because you think you know how they will be and they flip the script on you. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
She had to be a virgin. Was he also? I don't recall him saying he was like his brother did in the last book. Shouldn't the men be made to if the women are?
I don't understand why Mary acted the way she did when Keira asked about the decor and the pool. It wasn't clear why Keira said she wasn't a fool. How was Mary trying to fool her?
Keira is portrayed as a strong person but why didn't ask him about why he was treating her that way. It didn't fit her personality to allow herself to be treated that way. He was awful the morning after their wedding. He should have at the very least explained beforehand in a kind way and since he didn't, she should have addressed his treatment right then.
His brothers threw him a party with a bunch of strippers? His married brothers who seem to love their wives? It makes no sense they'd be at a party like that. It doesn't make sense that he would want that for his bachelor party either. He was about to get married but wanted to hang out with a bunch of naked women first? And he made it seem like it was if his dad slept with the strippers. How is that okay? His morals are questionable and lacking.
Frankie Love and Alice May Ball continue their intriguing The Dirty Kings of Vegas series with Book 3, Captive Bride. The eldest of the O'Malleys, John has watched his younger brothers find love and marry, but as the incumbent to taking over the family business, has been focused on building and protecting the empire. Then his father arranges for him to marry a member of a crime family from Boston, and before John even meets Keira, he falls in love with the young beauty from only a picture. Keira is only nineteen, but has been involved in her family business and understands the ins and outs - so while she is looking forward to marrying the devilishly handsome John, she hopes she can be more than a housewife. The attraction between the two is electric from their first meeting (their wedding!), but watching sassy Keira come into her own and John's respect for her grow is what made this love story a page-turner!

'Captive Bride' by Frankie Love and Alice May Ball is the third book in their Dirty Kings of Vegas series collaboration which tells the story of John and Kiera. John is the oldest brother of the O'Malley clan and agrees to a marriage that his father arranges. Luckily, when he sees the picture of his bride-to-be he was intrigued. Kiera doesn't see John until the wedding day. The wedding night starts out fantastic but then marriage goes downhill from there.
The Ms. Love and Ball duo have written a great addition to their series. The chemistry between John and Kiera jumps off the page. This book has heart, tension, laughs, and plenty of heat. This heroine is no wilting daisy and knows how to stick up for herself. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a quick but very satisfying read with their glass of wine.

This story was short, spicy and not quite what I was expecting. With the title Captive Bride, I thought Kiera might not be so happy to marry John. That turned out not to be the case.
John and Kiera have an arranged marriage uniting their families. John has seen Kiera’s picture and was a big fan. Kiera doesn’t lay her eyes on John until they meet at the altar!
Luckily for them it was lust at first sight! They have a heated wedding night but Kiera is disappointed to find out John is a busy man as he gets right back to work and leaves her to settle into her new life.
Kiera is a sweet and Clever heroine, John is your typical tough guy. They compliment each other well. Story 4/5, Heat 2.5/5, fast burn, no condoms, virgin h, no cheating, no cliffhanger and an HEA. Awesome read!

John O'Malley is the eldest brother and still unmarried, that's all about to change as his father has arranged a bride for him, one he is instantly smitten with. Kiera knew she would be married to John to form an alliance between their families, but she wasn't going to sit by and become a house wife. Their first meeting and words to each other were at the alter saying I do, their desire for each other was only just beginning, but soon the lack of a honeymoon phase is over and John is back to his family priority as heir. Leaving Kiera home alone, though as John will soon discover she's far more capable of holding her own in their family when tragedy strikes. This is book 3 in the series and is fast paced insta loving, hot scenes and more!

This is book number 3 of The Dirty Kings of Vegas and focuses on John and Kiera. John is the oldest of the O’Malley family and unmarried so his father arranges a marriage to Kiera. When John sees the picture of Kiera, he is instantly captivated by her and she is just as captivated by him. They have excellent chemistry right off the bat but have some adjustment issues, mainly being that John keeps her at arms length for the most part and won't let her in. Kiera proves to be the perfect partner for John and he definitely steps it into high gear and makes the necessary changes for his family. This was a great story and an excellent addition to the series. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Book 3 of the Dirty Kings of Vegas is about the eldest son of the O’Malleys and future leader of the family and how his father arranged a marriage for him. John is ok with that and after he sees a picture of his future wife, he’s all in. She’s beautiful and he has plans for their wedding night. Kiera will meet John for the 1st times at the alter and her first spoken words will be “I do”. She’s innocent, nervous but totally all in on the marriage arrangement. A good storyline that flows along with plenty of chemistry. They have adjustments to make in their marriage but Kiera proves her worth to John along the way. I loved this story.

There was nothing dramatic about this one - pure chemistry between the two characters, lots of heat instantly. With the title, it makes you think that Kiera doesn't want to be with John but that is not the case. She is all in and can't wait to meet her groom. She is born into the mafia life and supportive of John and his dealings but HE is the only problem here by not sharing with her. I love how take charge Kiera is and John eventually comes around. These two have all the making of a powerhouse couple and have a great HEA. I'm very curious to see what happens next in this series. I was able to fly through this one in one sitting as it kept me engaged the whole time.

I sometimes worry about novellas making me feel wanting more of a background to the story. Ms. Love NEVER leaves you wondering! She's got that ability to build up a world, characters and backgrounds quickly and effectively.
This is a mafia, Irish not Italian, in Las Vegas book. The eldest son of the head of the family has an arranged marriage (I had a little problem with that, but really it's a story so eh.). They were married and started their day to day lives. John and Kiera have things happen that bring them together, and opens both their eyes to each other. If I say anything more I'll spoil things! Just another fabulous book from Ms. Love!

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us, once again, into the lives of the O'Malley brothers. John is excited for his arranged marriage, once he sees a photo of the bride to be. Kiera is very happy to marry John, she knows all about the life she is going to have and is hoping to be his partner, as well as his wife. They have an instant connection but will he allow the family business to keep them apart?

I've always been super into mafia romances and who doesn't love Frankie Love? (Alice May Ball was a first for me with this series) and let me say they did not let me down. This is the 3rd installment of the O'Malley family irish mob books. It's about John the oldest of the brothers having an arranged marriage! He is all growly and alpha just like his brothers and once the sees his bride he knows she's his, even in just a picture. All the swoony romance and action you can handle!

I thought that this was a really good book. I really liked John and Kiera were scorching hot together yet John needed to see beyond business. I really liked the even though Kiera was younger than John, she didn't have any problems standing up to him or protecting him when needed. I can't wait for the next book! I enjoyed this book and this series so far and I would recommend it and these two awesome authors.

This book brings us John and Kiera. John is the eldest son of the O'Malley clan and is getting married to Kiera. This is an arranged marriage, and Kiera's first words to her "husband" will be "I Do." While Kiera was a strong woman who had grown up in the lifestyle, I just didn't feel anything for John. There wasn't, in my opinion any real connection or chemistry between the characters. This was a short read and I did finish it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.
This was about Kiera and John and their arranged marriage. Settling into the marriage took some adjustment on both parts and it was really interesting how they did. Well written and I'm impressed with the effective story line. The characters were certainly individual and very entertaining. This was a great story and one I couldn't put down.

This was really a great short read.. both John and Kiera were set up of an arranged marriage by their fathers, even though both only have seen eachother by a picture both were very attracted to eachother. Starting a new chapter in life, a new city for Kiera, a marriage to a man she was attracted to but didn't know, dealing with work and the family business John has a big scare happen to him to help open his eyes and learn what is most important.
Kiara is a strong woman and despite wing placed in an arranged marriage by her father to a man she has never met. She takes the bull by the horns and makes the best of it. She is glad to be marrying John the eldest of the O'Malley clan. However whe they both go back to work and business as usual the marriage takes back seat. Will they be able to get it back on track? Steamy short love story.

As the firstborn son and future head of their family, John knows that he has certain duties and obligations. One of them is to get marry and produce an heir so when his father finds him a bride he is not surprise. He is surprised, however, when his body lights up when he sees the picture of his future wife. Maybe this marriage won't be so bad after all. Highly recommended
This was a quick hot read. The spice was great 😊 I love Frankie loves romances as they always seem to scratch an itch I didn’t know I had. The only reason I knocked this down a star is because some of it didn’t make any sense. Like parts of the story were forgotten. Also, I am curious as to why Mary was acting funny in the beginning scene. Idk I love short romances I think we just needed a couple more pages of this one to really tie up the loose ends!
The story of Kiera and John reads like a short story. It moves fast, just thouches on the subjects and situations and jumps ahead a little. I miss more content to the story, but what is there is sweet and it is an instant attraction story.

This was a great and steamy arranged marriage story. John and Kiera had explosives chemistry and even though it was an arranged marriage they were both happy with it in the beginning. I loved that in Kiera John got way more than he bargained for. She was his equal in every way. I loved their story.
I have to say each book keeps getting better! I also have a serious like for mafia romances, I haven't read one that I haven't liked yet. I love the storyline and the two main characters had quite the chemistry. This was super hot and I strongly recommend that you read it.

More than meets the eye when John meets his arranged bride Kiera. Loved the character of Kiera as she may have been young, but a definite force and knowledgeable of the family business. Enjoyed the ending as the dynamic of John and Kiera improved with love and respect.

When John's father arranged a marriage for him he went along with it never expecting to fall in love with the woman his father chose. Sparks fly when Kiera and John meet and neither of them expected things to go so well between them. This is a steamy, insta love story and a great addition to The Dirty Kings of Vegas series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Wow.that was a sweet and steamy read😍😍 John found his One in an arranged marriage and nothing could stop Kiera to get her man. She was this strong and kind of independent woman, that had no fear to stand up to her husband and for her husband. Insta love, sweet, steamy, safe and romantic with a sweet HEA and no drama😍😍😍👍👍👍
