"It's like Romeo and Juliet... A Were and a wizard fighting kidnappers, gods, and a mysterious government agency that is trying to hide the paranormal from society. You know what? It's actually nothing like Romeo and Juliet.Except no one wants those two together, especially the witches."
A long time ago I was born in Los Angeles. That's where I spent many of my formative years. After I became an adult, I moved around for a bit before ending up in a small town in Oregon, very similar to Bailey's hometown. Greenhearth is fake, if you haven't already Googled that, but it's like many small towns with less than 1,000 people.
My pets... I love animals, especially my two even if they do create havoc in my daily life. I have a cat, named Snowstorm, Storm for short. Then I have a rescue, Josephine. She's a Labradoodle - I think. It's hard to say but it's the best I can come up with.
What I'm working on... I'm already working on the next book in the series - was working on it before Bad Attitude came back from editing. And now that it has released, need to stay on track with A Bit Aggressive.

If you are 14 and have read nothing but wattpad fanfics then you might enjoy this, anyone else please don’t waste your time.
Bailey is 25 years old. She is old enough to walk away and say “no, I don’t want to get married. I don’t want to have babies. My body,my choice; I won’t follow your traditions, leave me alone.” But no, she stays behind and complains all day about how she “has to” get married and “has to” have a bunch of babies but…why? Why does she stay? She acts like she hates everyone in town so I don’t believe she feels any loyalty towards her pack. She gets along with her brothers but we never get the sense that she loves them so much she can’t leave them, so why exactly is she going along with the forced marriage thing?
Then there’s Roland. Roland is alright, he’s funny and witty and usually very calmed and composed. He's running away from a life of potential sex-slavery because he doesn't want to be forced to have babies with the witches. And yet the first thought Bailey has when she first meets him is that he's hot and she wants to sleep with him. Had the roles been reversed, had it been a girl running away from her abusers and the guy who offers to help her only does it because he wants to bang her, will we be okay with that? I don’t think so.
Next, the prose. Oh god, the prose. The author uses slang and idioms but uses them wrong, and tries to use fancy words but doesn't know their meaning. Here’s a couple of examples: “stoic anger” (stoicism by definition does not allow one to feel anger), “finagle the appliance” (she meant to say they fit it through a door), “his body turned earthward” to mean his body hit the ground, “she pointed her eyes heavenward” instead of “she rolled her eyes”. It reaches levels of absurdity I have only seen in old cartoons like Cow and Chicken, where the whole point of Chicken’s forced eloquence was to point out he was an idiot.
Characters change personality from one page to the next. At times Roland is cool, poised, observant, next he’s freaking out about everything and acting all clueless and dumb. Bailey herself goes from bad-mouthed ignorant country girl to an erudite using words like “heathens”, “local trade politics”, “furthemore”, etc. It’s super disconnected. Nothing here has any consistency.
The plot had potential, it’s just that the author had no idea what to do with a premise as brilliant as this one. Imagine being the only available female in a pack full of aggressive men, all wanting to mate with you not because of you, but because of the offspring you could produce. It's brilliant! I would be terrified to live in such a world where people only see me as a baby factory and nothing more…oh wait…I do know what that feels like! #fuckthepatriarchy.
Roland is on a similar boat: his coven only sees him as a stud to be used and disposed of, but his children won’t be his, they’d be the coven’s property and he doesn't want that. That’s an interesting idea. But, to copy this author’s style, it all went shitward the moment she treated this story as romance instead of social commentary. This should have been about how two people found the courage to stand up against tradition and abuse but instead we got the tired trope of “we didn’t want to fall in love, but did.”
So, I’m DNFing this series after book 1 but I gotta say: thank you for the laughs. Thank you for the writing lessons. I now know how not to write a story.
A great series following Bailey, her friends and family. An almost 26 year old werewolf, desperate not to be forced into the obligatory marriage meets up with a wizard trying to hide from 3 witches who want him at any cost... and from there it blooms into a world of myth, witches, wizards and gods! The only thing I did find a bit jarring was the authors strange skipping from using ' Bailey' to calling her ' the girl'. The first time it happened I had to read back to see if I had missed something or another person was being discussed! All in all a well rounded series and worth whiling a few hours away!
Thank you so very much for sharing this story with your readers. It was an adventure from the first chapter. I have enjoyed all of the characters. The surprises around each trial, the humor that is Roland. Gunnery with his fatherly advice exactly when its needed. The ending was more than what was expected. Thank you again for the adventure I have to admit I'm sorry its finished but look forward to reading more of your books and meeting new characters along the way.
A strange but exciting love story, about a girl age 24 who happened to be a Were Wolf and her famiy. Along came Roland who happened to be a talented Warlock, A male Witch who was being chased by 3 very strong witches who wanted to mate with him. Things got complicated, Bailey and Roland got involved and rescued a bunch of Kidnapped female Were's, then it really got inteteresting. Plan a long weekend to enjoy this book, lots of easy to eat Hero's and tacos, large pitcher of tea, pot of coffee and cookies & muffins. Enjoy!
****The Were Witch Complete Series Omnibus by Renee Jagger: pretty good — 3.5 stars A slow start and a quirky storyline that kept morphing and growing. A lot of car chases, fights, magic, and deception. Lots of otherworldly creatures too. I liked the building relationship between Roland and Bailey. I skimmed some, and was glad when it all ended. Good wrap up.
I just finished "The Were Witch Complete Series Omnibus" and enjoyed it. The characters were colorful, different, slightly crazy (okay some of were totally crazy) and were a good mix. I kept trying to figure out Marcus, was confused, but everything finally fell into place. Lots of action kept me totally involved and going back for more. All together a very satisfying read. I will look into more books by Renee Jagger.
Good believable characterisation, enjoyed how they developed some dark, many light. The imagination shown within the books was impressive. A very good rolling storyline too. Very fight heavy though but interspersed with interesting interludes. Definitely recommend this series of books if you like supernatural good defeating evil.
I was greatly pleased with the original and creative approach Matter took in this series. There are all the aspects of paranormal series that we look for plus twists and turns that were truly unexpected. Good job! Looking for some more of the original stuff from this author that I now expect.
I've read multiple series, but by far, this was one of the best I've read so far. Some authors put to much description in events. This was more of a movie in your mind. I have now found a new favorite author. Congratulations on a book series, that will go far. Amazing work.
Awesome series, exciting, entertaining and totally enjoyable!!!!
Congratulations to Renee Jagger for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next series.
I enjoyed the characters very much, they seemed to co.e alive. The suspense of Marcus and what he up to was great. I would recommend this book to anyone who asked what to read.
This set/series of books was a fair bit of fun to read. The story was a little simplistic but fairly well written. There were a few grammatical errors anda few word you es that could’ve been better but still an enjoyable read.
Reading is my escape and lazy pleasure. The characters, story lines and plots lend to crazy twist and turns making this series a great read. Old muscle cars, mythology and fantastical creatures! What more could you want?
I enjoyed most of the book but think I'm a bit old for some of it. Avoid story with lots of interesting characters. Just a it too much fighting for an older reader like me, I'm sure you adults and teenagers will really enjoy it
This was a good read I liked Bailey and her constant struggles. I found the series to be well thought out. It has a feel good factor with God's and wears and other magical creature's. Easy to pick up but nit so easy to put down.
One of the best fantasy mini epic series I've read. The mini tales are great and so is the central plot, it's all very engaging and consistent. The hero's are get likeable and the twists refreshing, roll on the next series!
It started with an interesting premise, but quickly deteriorated into a farce. I tried to keep reading and I managed to skim through the first book but I just couldn’t keep going.
This series was wonderfully entertaining to read and there were a few nights I stayed up to late because I got so wrapped up in the storyline. Definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance with action and adventure.
Extremely enjoyable and creative with wonderful character development. Many types of beings represented, some heroic, some not...I loved it!!😀 I'm wanting to read other books from this author!
If you are looking for a series that contains witches, were wolves, vampires and gods this is the one for you! It keeps you guessing with all the twists. Great read.
Really enjoyed reading each book of this series. The plot was well thought out and the characters filled in quite nicely. Great read that will make you laugh, get angry and sometimes wish you were there. Enjoy.
I love Renee Jaggér books and knew I’d love this one. The Bailey Nordin story is well made with myth, magic and sass from beginning to end. I enjoyed going to Other and all the battles. Bailey had to grow up fast.
I highly recommend this fantastic Urban Fantasy based loosely on Norse mythology, to readers who love reading imaginative and enthralling intrigue. Enjoy!
