As an avid volleyball fan this was everything and more to me.
I'm just sad that my mom's dog ate my perfect copy of this manga but it's fine... It's fine 🥺😫

OMD THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MANGA IVE EVER READ!!
I cannot believe it was so interesting, I’m not a sports person, so I wasn’t expecting to like it.
I do like that it’s not fully sporty, I would say a lot of it is also a slice of life.
I watched a bit of the anime before, but it was really hard to get into, so I stopped; the Vol 1 is SO great!
I really love the dynamic of Shoyo and Tobio being completely different people, it makes the slice of life parts feel more enjoyable.

Getting Vol 2 soon hopefully🥹🤞

i've read all of haikyuu!!, but i don't want to go through adding all 45 volumes to my books so i'll let this serve as a representation for the whole series.

wonderfully silly, hopeful, and moving. somehow, a manga (and anime) about volleyball manages to tell powerful stories about the power of friendship, the influence of capitalism, and the ways we fight to overcome it. some of the most genuine and loving queer coding (not explicitly queer characters!) i've seen in manga as well.

O mangá começa apresentando dois garotos com personalidades e habilidades totalmente opostas, mas com algo em comum: o amor pelo vôlei. Shoyo Hinata, com sua baixa estatura, se recusa a aceitar que isso seja um obstáculo para se tornar um grande jogador. Já Tobio Kageyama, o prodígio do levantamento, tem um talento inegável, mas uma atitude rígida e um tanto arrogante.
O encontro explosivo entre esses dois acontece durante a fase de classificação para o Nacional, onde eles se tornam rivais imediatos. Mas o destino, irônico como sempre, os coloca no mesmo time do colégio Karasuno, e é aqui que a história começa a ganhar uma dinâmica viciante. A relação de amor e ódio entre os dois é retratada de forma brilhante, e a evolução tanto individual quanto como equipe já se torna visível nesse volume inicial.
E preciso falar: as cenas de vôlei são extremamente emocionantes! A tensão, a adrenalina, e a paixão pelo esporte transbordam a cada página. Além disso, para nós brasileiros, é impossível não se emocionar com as referências ao vôlei nacional, que são um toque especial e mostram o impacto do esporte no mundo inteiro.
Haikyu!! não é só sobre esporte. É uma história sobre persistência, sonhos e sobre encontrar a força em lugares inesperados, incluindo em rivais que acabam se tornando grandes aliados.

(3.7) Shonen really isn't my thing, and I was not going to finish this book. However, I decided to power through. The end was definitely better than the beginning, and I can see why many people love this series, but it's not for me.

There are a lot of action scenes and dramatic (unrealistic) dialogue. I like the main character, but I like the side characters better.

The artwork is very bold and dramatic, which works great with the story.
