A deadly killer stalks my every move, but they’re messing with the wrong witch-wolf assassin.
Why would anyone think hunting a psycho hybrid with a supersized wolf form and crazy volatile witch powers is a good idea? It’s a mystery. But you do you, killer.
I’m Graves, kickass hitlady extraordinaire, and I’m a teensy bit unbalanced. But that’s okay because my mates—dominant alpha Dean, insane vampire Slasher, sweet bookish Brannigan, adoring wolf Hugh, and ruthless Edison—are just as unhinged, and they love me just as I am. Even if I do have a tendency to get stabby, come home covered in blood, and attract danger like flies to … well, you know.
Two more trials, and I’ll have proved my worth to the powers-that-be of Blake Hall. I’ll avoid prison and get to keep my magic and shifting abilities. But with someone determined to kill me, and a secret society scarily obsessed with me, these trials will be anything but straightforward.
But Rebel “Graves” Falcon is no quitter. I’ll find this hunter and spill their blood and guts even if it kills me. Which it just might.
Blood Wolf is the sequel to Killer Crescent, a paranormal romance with psycho men, a badass FMC, twisted romance, and lots and lots of bloodlust. Secret societies, killer wolves, dangerous vamps, and cunning witches lurk in these pages, but all of them will meet the sharp end of Rebel Falcon’s knife. This book is medium burn, with moderate heat, and multiple love interests.
The release date is a placeholder and WILL be moved forward to 2021.
Leigh Kelsey is the author of romance and reverse harem books for anyone with a soft spot for steely women and the tortured men who love them. No matter what stories she's writing - vampires or shifters or bad boys - they all share a common thread of love, heart, and action. She is the author of the Lili Kazana series, the Moonlight Inn series, the Dead Space stand alone, and the Blacktower Prison for Supernaturals series, plus many more books.
I wouldn’t have bothered to read the conclusion to this duet if it weren’t for the psycho lead character; unfortunately, their presence barely managed to improve the quality of my reading experience.
This isn’t to say that I disliked the book—overall, I would consider it to have been an enjoyable enough read. Unfortunately, there were too many drawbacks for me to give it a higher rating.
The plot had the structural integrity of swiss cheese—that is to say flimsy, hole-y, and crumbly. This is easily overlooked as long as you refrain from looking at it at all too closely.
The world building…*sigh* It was extremely underdeveloped. Blake Hall is the most obvious example. The only reason that Rebel found four of her mates was because they lived at Blake Hall. Blake Hall served the purpose of getting Rebel in the same place as all of her mates. Blake Hall is supposed to reform dangerous supernaturals. Rebel is sent to Blake Hall to learn to control her dangerous abilities. Rebel’s mates are at Blake Hall for similar reasons.
I.e., BLAKE HALL BEING A REFORM TYPE INSTITUTION IS AN INTEGRAL ASPECT TO THIS ENTIRE STORY, AND YET NOTHING TAKES PLACE THERE THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH REFORMING.
Did I manage to explain that properly? I’m not sure, because I used so much repetition, that I became confuzzled half-way through.
Obviously, I’m in the minority with my lackluster feelings, i.e., don’t let my experience dissuade you from giving this duet a chance.

So many fucking emotions oh my kittens Them trials gave me multiple heart attacks I stg I seriously thought it wasn’t gonna be a HEA at some points 😪
But Dayum this book was so so so good That end scene with the smut 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
We finally saw more of Brannigan in this book and I love him. It’s so funny how both vampires are such sweethearts🥺 don’t get me wrong they’re still psycho af especially my bby slasher. All the guys are like BFF’s now which is so cute.
Slasher & Edison are my faves😏 they’re sooooooooooo yummy
I’ve never wanted to have vampire sex this bad in my whole life🥵
The plot twists in this book made my jaw drop like I wasn’t expecting that fat one.
Rebel is such a queen, she’s so fucking powerful now damn and she’s defo in my top 3 fantasy girls. I’m so proud of her🥺
Im gonna miss this duet so bad. I have soooo many highlights it’s insane.
Please give this series a go if you’re into fantasy rh with top tier smut. A crazy hilarious fmc and psycho mates🤤
You’d think a story about an pink-haired assassin, a serial killer werewolf, the strongest witch of his time, an ex-KGB trained werewolf, a slasher vampire and one the oldest vampires in existence would be edge of your seat fun. But alas this isn’t working for me.
It’s mostly just fated mates being horny along with random, underwhelming, assassination attempts. There doesn’t ever really feel anything is at stake though. Because the attacks on the female lead are so easily thwarted.
Anyways, I’m a gal who has learned to value my time and while I tried to hang on I’m finally calling it quits here. Too many books too little time.
Absolutely Bonkers but so bloody (quite literally!!) brilliant. Rebel and her mates are all killers and complete nutcases but i found myself dying laughing throughout this book. Omg Slasher's pet names and Rebel's one-liners (like the M&S cloud one, lol) just cracked me up!! Rebel spends the majority of this book trying to stay alive (an occupational hazard in her line of work i would think!) and one step ahead of hit men/women trying to kill her. As well as all the problems that arise with her mates.
I just love this series and the characters so much. Im looking forward to the next book now
On one hand I ADORED our FMC and her unhinged self. I also loved. The constant pet names and the growing bonds. On the other. It was plot hole city. And the plot itself was flimsy. I wish it was flushed out better. Maybe given more pages or a third book. However I genuinely loved the characters and will read more from Leigh.
This author does it again 😩 I swear she can't write a bad book. If I'm ever in a fantasy slump, this author will always bring me back. Loved everything about this.
This was a fun duet mostly because I love me some crazy MCs. The villain reveal was a bit anticlimactic but I will say this is one bloody ending. And with no epilogue I’m hoping there will be an offshoot series or something just so we can see Rebel and her guys in the future. Rebel continued to be hilarious and I appreciated her candor and outlook on life. Even when in the throes of dying her insane mind is a wild place to be. There’s tons of sex in this book and some more time spent with her mates getting to know them. I think the book felt a bit long but overall it was a fun and pretty crazy duet.
The bubbly pink-loving assassin, Rebel Falcon (aka Graves) is back and so is her band of psychotic killers also known as her mates. Wolf Blood is the second book in the Rebels and Psychos duology, so this is it for Rebel's story and it was killer, (haha) see what I did there.
Rebel is still dealing with the residents at Blake Hall, dodging even more attempts on her life, the jerks that she's related to, and bonding with her mates. Hay at least there's fun, sexy times, and murder along the way.
Listen Rebel and her mates aren't the good guys, obviously, but I can't help but like them. Rebel is light and bubbly while also dangerous and is a killer but is most definitely in touch with her feelings. I love how she keeps going after all the horrible things thrown at her, that even when she didn't have support, she stood strong but still had an open heart. Rebel is badass.
Her guys are a mixed bag of crazy. The guys in this... Slasher actually has lucid moments but still comes up with the best nicknames for Rebel, Edison has turned into a whole new person, Hugh (the giant teddy bear) shows his dangerous side and Dean's (Sexy Sir's) has a dark past that's revealed. All of them rally around Rebel, trying to protect her, love her and talk her out of serial killer babies. This group is weird, to say the least, but they are in it together, the guys actually get along really well, especially for psychopaths. They were all misfits and alone but now have found their family
I'll let you in on a little secret, I didn't think I would like comedic books but Leigh has done a fantastic job with Rebel. She's serious, obscured, caring, and funny all at once. You have to read her commentary in the footnotes it adds an extra layer to the story and is hilarious. The story was action-packed with assassins, a cult, deadly trials, and steam action, it was fantastic. Not to mention all the love Rebel gets and the big reveals and plot twists that I didn't expect.
I'm sorry to see Rebel and the guys go, Rebels and Psychos was a great series and Blood Wolf was an excellent conclusion to Rebel's story.
Okay, so some of the shock at the macabre humor wore off in this book. And with it gone, it was a lot easier to see the flaws. The plot is basically nonexistent. Some seers say these people are bad so they're sent to this weird school/prison and told they have to complete all these trials to stay or they'll be sent to real prison. And Rebel has a whole lot of sexy times with her males in the midst of not really trying that hard to figure out who is trying to kill her. That's about it. I still recommend it if you're looking for something a bit different to shake you out of a reading rut. But if you're looking for your next favorite rereadable series, this probably isn't it.
This is the nicest way I can say this with my current mental state, this book makes me want to kill myself. Like this is horrifying and it feels like self harm but I am fighting thru it because I hate myself honestly. This book made me feel like I was rocking back and forth curled into a ball in a padded room.
Too much dean. I do not like dead he boasts about killing women, I’m ok with serial killing if it is men but women….. that’s too far for my liking you are a real sick freak in a man way…
““I choose victims who look like her to get revenge for how she hurt me, but the relief only lasts so long.”” Like are we being fr …. I’m supposed to be attracted or even remotely interested in a serial killer who kills women not based on crimes they’ve committed but the fact that they look like his mommy and he has mommy issues. Men piss me off so badly because you know how many women have daddy issues and they don’t brutally murder and tourtue men who look like their fathers, it’s because they are not pathetic losers.
Maybe I missed something, but if the whole point of Blake Hall is to get super powerful people and make sure they’re safe to send back into the world why are there people who have been there for what seems to be like years when she is going through her trials extremely fast And they’re telling her if she doesn’t pass these trials she’ll just get sent to prison. What are all these other people doing?
How as a witch that grew up around witches, shunned or not, doesn’t know the BASICS of using magic….
Heyyyy diabolically horny and NAWT in a good way if you could guess it. also somehow the least inventive and creative 6somes I have ever read…
Also kinda spoiler waning. What a surprise the person you realized was not teaching you magic correctly LITERALLY SO MANY CHAPTERS AGO WAS TRYING TO KILL YOU WHAT A SURPRISE ! they are so horny and millennial I think if I said add 2 + 2 or I kill one of the harem they would somehow say ANY NUMBER OTHER THAN FOUR!
WHY DID THE DISCARD SOCIETY WANT HER A THEIR QUEEN WHAT ARE WE DOING. WHY WAS NOTHING EXPLAINED OR EXPANDED UPON SO MUXH HAPPENED AND IT WAS SO BORING.
Duology that seems incomplete? They didn’t fix the Hall, they didn’t help the marginalized people in any way, they didn’t push back at any of the crappy parts of their society. What was the point of the secret society? They didn’t do much really.
I loved Rebel and her mates (I even grew to prefer her rejected mate over some of the others) but the plot was severely lacking in this duology. Nothing important really happens, she never heals from her trauma and no consequences were ever mentioned toward the man who killed her Anarchy in such a disgusting manner? It seems on in witch society one misstep could have you disowned but they seem to get away with horrible deeds constantly as well. Honestly the worst thing about this series is that none of the bad people actually learn from their mistakes. Nothing about their lives are better and it seems to imply that Rebel and her mates with indefinitely stay at the reform school? Which makes no sense. I wanted Rebel to grow skillful in her magic and show up witch society but that never happened. I wanted to see her meet with the wolf pack to try to find family but that never happens either. I wanted them to figure out why they are being targeted by the seers when it was implied they were lying about their dangerous magic. That never is addressed either. This just wasn’t a well thought out or well rounded story whatsoever. Good characters that deserved a better world and plot.
Complete side note that it makes no sense that so many assassins would take the job of hunting rebel when she states 7,000 for a kill isn’t that much of an incentive. You would think after so many died coming after her as well that less people would take the job. It just didn’t seem realistic. I also didn’t understand why they introduced the one killer and cleaner if they weren’t important to the overall story. It just seems off that she had zero friends (even other psychopaths) before getting her powers.

Leigh continued to add depth to the amazingly dark and twisted world surrounding Blake Hall, every element kept drawing you into Rebel's journey as she tried to avoid magic prison and stay alive. This is a fast paced and actioned packed conclusion to this brilliant duet about Rebel that you have no choice but to read in one sitting.
Rebel is absolutely exquisite in this book, she is the perfect mic of utterly blood thirsty, psychotic and vulnerable. She goes through so much growth as an individual, even with her life on line she learns to embrace being there for her mates too.
Slasher, Eddison, Hugh and Dean bring their A game from the off. They are their for Rebel in every way possible, being the perfect partners she never knew she needed. Be it going on a murder spree, taking on her family, providing the best nicknames or being the beat emotional support ever. These guys lay their lives on the line for the psycho they love, they embrace every part of her twisted soul and are rewards with a love that goes soul deep. Brannigan is the wild card in this book who's actions and words cause Rebel sever whiplash and break her heart making her second guess herself.
This steam in this book is off the charts as the 6 of them come together, it's hot enough to set the pages alight but it doesn't always come easy but it sure is worth the battle.
The plot progression, action and twists sink their teeth into you and dont let go till the very last word, then you're left begging for more.
Not exactly a surprise who the villain is, but "how" they are is
From the first book, I somewhat suspected who the villain was. It isn't exactly a twist or anything. The only 'surprise' is WHY they're the villain and who they are to Rebel. It seems a bit random while also being sad, considering the backstory. I won't give any spoilers, but I feel bad for Rebel and what she could have had.
I love the male characters that Rebel has surrounding her. Besides Dean, who's soft towards her in his own way, all of her guys are huge cinnamon rolls / Golden Retrievers with a bit (or LOT) of crazy in them. Nobody wants to cross them, but they're all just gooey marshmallow fluff on the inside where she's concerned!
Something I enjoyed doing is highlighting all of the cutesy, ridiculous food nicknames Slasher kept calling Rebel. I love that trait in him and give Leigh Kelsey huge props, who I'm sure had to make a big list and mark each name off as she used them so they wouldn't be repeated!
The only cons I have is that there are a few spelling mistakes and one or two inconsistencies in the book as well, but nothing that takes away from the overall plot. One is the age of Slasher (I'm certain in the first book it said he was over 500 years old, but in this book, it simply says he's older than 200. However, Brannigan is much older than him and "likely older than the country itself." I feel the age was changed for Slasher a bit.)
Blood Wolf starts off exactly where we left Rebel in the last book, finishing another trial and an unknown person trying to unsuccessfully kill her. But although Rebel made it out relatively unscathed, her mate was brutally injured. Now Rebel is intent on finding out who is trying to kill her and making sure that she eliminates them from this world…and any others that might exist.
I really enjoyed the first book in the series, I laughed out loud so many times that my family thought I was crazy! I wasn’t sure if this book would be able keep up the crazy momentum of the first book…but let me assure it not only kept it up; but surpassed it.
Rebel and her mates find themselves in a faced paced journey that keeps you guessing until you turn the last page! I’m usually really good at predicting who the evil villain of the story is….but I got it wrong on this book!
I love how Leigh Kelsey kept leading us in a certain direction and then BAM! Changed it on me…🤣
If you enjoy psycho and super sexy and obsessive mates, unstoppable action and an FMC who is totally cray, and sooo darn lovable and stabby…then this is the book/series for you!
One click this book now, then get your favorite drink, corner of the couch and block the rest of the world out! This is an epic journey you won’t want to miss.
Fans of Harley Quinn's crazed antics NEED to pick up this series! But be forewarned, Rebel is better, and crazier, than Harley ever will be. She also gets 5 hot mates who utterly worship her!
I can't shout it enough, I LOVED THIS SERIES! And what a fantastic ending!
Rebel is certified crazy, but balances it with having a big heart for what (or who) she cares for. The combination of the two makes it so refreshing being inside of her head. And make sure to read the footnotes! They truly add to the experience of the story.
This Harem might be a top favorite for me. All of the guys are special in their own way, and psychos with a heart for their mate are my weakness! Edison's protectiveness. Brannigann's terrible taste in clothes, Slasher's adorable love language nicknames, I could go on and on. The best part of each of these guys though, is how much they just UNDERSTAND their girl
I seriously need to go cry, not because this book broke my heart, but because this series is over. I love the dark, crazy worlds the author is starting to explore, and can't wait to see more!
Disappointing. Anything interesting in the first book started to die in the second. Started off pretty good with Dean and Rebel bonding over their murdery personalities, but then it just plummeted. Besides reconnecting with the mate which rejected her and barely has to throw Rebel a bone to get her to come crawling back, the rest of the mate storylines are nonexistent. One just gets thrown in like a random afterthought. We lose the connection with Dean as he becomes a growly side character by the end of the book. Slasher went from potentially interesting and protective to needy chihuahua.
Rebel herself loses anything interesting after the first murder seen with Dean. Her internal monologuing without action makes her less badass and more whiney.
The whole book feels like it’s racing toward a conclusion rather than developing a story and building to a climax. The entire Blake Hall premise doesn’t make sense either as the characters are deemed dangerous and may go to jail unless they can control themselves, but then openly murder, maim, and threaten several residents without consequence.
Firstly, I didn’t realize this was the conclusion of the series so as a happily ever after neared I was waiting for something to ruin it all… But nothing happened. It was a great ending but I was expecting more crazy.
Like the first book, this book had me laughing out loud constantly. The footnotes/commentary might just be the best part of the book. Oh, and of course the cutesy nicknames and one-liners. There is a great combination of plot, comedy, steam and very memorable characters.
This book starts off where the first book ended. I had read the first book when it came out so it took me a sec to re-orient myself but it was easy to do. This book took off and just kept going until the very end. I love that questions were answered, there was a lot of action and the relationships between the characters were just adorable.
If you love a book with a lot of crazy and an entertaining plot this is the perfect book series for you. It’s an easy and funny read that will keep you entertained throughout.
The first book was okay and I started reading this book purely because I wanted some answers.
It all fell so short.
A story about a candy haired assassin and her equally murderous mates sounds enticing but there is zero connection from reader to characters.
Rebel is written in a way that makes her nothing more than a Harley Quinn caricature. Her thoughts are basically (ooo a squirrel, I want to murder.) there is no depth to her at all. This makes it quite boring. Even the bits about her sister’s murder (which should have added a level of depth to Rebel’s character) just wasn’t there.
I get it, she’s psychotic, but she’s also a person. It’s too one dimensional.
And her mates… boring. They’re all (except one) murderous psychos, yet they’re also weak as hell.
The plot is basic and boring as well with too many plot holes and not enough world building.
The entire reasoning and execution of her stay at the institute never made any sense or was talked about in depth.
Basically this book is shallow and lacking in all the good bits.
So I first picked up Killer Crescent just based on the cover lol.⠀It didnt let me down so I preordered the second book Blood Wolf.
I LOVED it. First of all Graves is insane and I mean that literally lol.⠀She is hysterical and I laughed throughout this book more than one should when dealin with so much murder.
Her men oh GOSH her men....is it wrong they turn me on so much when they are bad bad men? I mean we have a serial killer, a trainee of the KBG, a rejected witch mate, and 2 murder loving vampires!!
I NEED A GOOD THERAPIST SEND RECS!!!
The story is good it picks up right where Killer Crescent left.⠀We get the answers to our questions for the most part. The author did leave it IMO kinda open so she could add on later if needed/wanted.
PS- YES WE WANT MORE GRAVES
Also I love that @leighkelseyauthor includes the footnotes and they just add to the book.
Also can we agree there is no better background then this for Graves??? I THINK NOT
I loved the premise of this series in that Rebel was uniquely herself and owned that ish. It seemed as if there were few things that could truly rattle her during the first book. However going into the second book, we learned that she isn’t infallible and we start to see the cracks in her facade.
Unfortunately the barely there and entirely unbelievable (not even a smidge bit buyable) plot, side quests, long winded banter, and pet names between her mates made this installment difficult to finish. An example is that the action was wrapped up by the 80% mark but the remaining 20% was fluff and sex. The spice was too much. The last 20% is sex and weird banter during said sex. Personally, I’m good on this adventure. It was cutesy for a bit but ✌🏽I must get off the ride now. As nonsensical and oddly endearing as the first book was, it didn’t need to be a series.
I love Leigh Kelsey books and I loved the first one but this one was not her best work. The dialogue was ridiculous and felt forced most of the time and I live the characters but the plot was all over the place, it was like she had a whole lot of ideas but had no way to bring them together and just ended up making a mess.
I am all for badass female characters but that was literally Rebel's only personality in this book and yes we get it that she is not the poster child for sanity but again it didn't have to be her whole personality.
All in all the problem with this book was that it had no natural flow, everything just seemed messy and all over the place and I get where she was trying to go with the book but she didn't quite get there.
Leigh Kelsey will still be an automatic read for me though, this is just not one of her better works but book one was really good though.
This duet was the best than all the rest. Like seriously one hell of a fun, witty, chaotic and entertaining story. Rebel and her men were just perfect, rebel is the most interesting and psychotic fmc you can imagine. Her character was my absolute favourite.
Leigh Kelsey brings out the most amazing and unique stories, her characters are always different but still gives you the crazy, wild and unexpected.
If your ever in a book funk, can’t find anything to cheer you up or just want a paranormal read that isn’t gonna drag, gets to the point and entertaining all the way from start to finish then look no further, rebels and psychos is perfect and anything written by Leigh Kelsey too! 😁
This duet is a keeper and il be purchasing the paperback next. It’s one il re read again and again ❤️
I would have given this a 5 star if it wasn't for it is suppose to be the end of the series, but so much is left undone. Does she look gor her father's family? What happens when she does? Why 3 wolves? How and why did that happen? Genetics? Magic? Born on a blood moon to a long dormant line of mysterious alien giant wolves??? What in who-ha do the ruins on her wolf mean? What does her family do when they learn of her magical strength? And does Edi's family try anything because he accepted their bond and "embarressed" them even though they disowned him? These things need answers!!! There are another 2 to 4 plus books left to write to fill in the answers!
Kindle. Low low three. Turned out to be a duet wrapping up in the end, the third book waiting to be released more like a bonus 2.5. Had a lot of interest potential with protective obsessive crazy men with a crazy “badass” FMC. Though the plot-line was just all over the place and didn’t grasp a solid direction. Transitions were weak, writing was weak. Character connection was lacking and in general all character development. My interest took a nosedive early on in this book and had me dragging to finish. The actual idea of the story had a lot of potential to be fun and exciting unfortunately the reality didn’t measure up. Overall it was just an okay read that fell flat, surface mindless and easy but not as attention keeping as it could have been. Missing a better polished plot.
I don’t know how the first one could be topped but this book managed it!! Rebel is as much of a nutcase as ever with numerous attempts on her life that just won’t quit…her ramblings and thoughts on this are hilarious 😂 Her men are just adorable psychos, honestly I want them all, they just love Revel and would do anything for her….including tearing out Vampire hearts for looking at her wrong (gotta love Slasher 😍) With a mysterious family member messing with the trials and Asians taking an open hit Rebel has to watch her and her mates backs…but with their killer skills they fight for their HEA! I’m so sad this is over ….. 100% recommend!!
This book is as funny as the first, as bloody as the first and as crazy murdery as the first one. I’m all for this crazy duet! Please read the footnotes they are absolutely hilarious and make the book! I love that Rebel is finally starting to let people into her heart and mind. Slasher, Hugh, Dean, Eddison and Brannigon each have their own issues but equally they clearly love Rebel, they all become an emotional support group to her and also have such a chemistry and heat that is off the charts. Between the absolutely insane trials, the assassination attempts and the hot as hell guys you definitely don’t want to miss this book full of craziness.
This is one my favorites! I absolutely loved this duet. This is the second and the last of Rebels story, and I'm so sad that it is over. It's hard not to fall in love with crazy, psycho, killer Rebel. She's funny also. I mean, the perfect package for a FMC.
This story picks up where book 1 left off, with Rebel trying to figure out who is trying to kill her. This is such a dark and twisted world Leigh has created and I'm here for it. You won't want to put it down. It is fast paced, action packed and the perfect conclusion to Rebels story even though I wished we could get more.
Definitely give it a shot! It might surprise you. 😉
