QUADTYCH: Four Very Different Stories From the Author of the Angkor Series

Rate this book
The four stories contained within these pages – a novella, a novelette, and two short stories – span almost 25 years of writing. First up is ‘Turning the Tables’ which I originally wrote around 1997/1998 then left in a drawer for a long time. It represents a snapshot of a very special time in my life where a weekend wasted was not a wasted weekend. People who were around the mid-90s club and party scene in Glasgow may well recognise some of the characters. Hell, they may well recognise themselves! The second offering is ‘In my Sights’. I wrote this around 2013 in response to the then ongoing ‘culling’ of some of the UK’s most vulnerable people by a vicious and sadistic Tory government (and their Vichy-like collaborators in the Lib Dems). Sadly, seven years later and not much has improved. The third story is ‘Me? I Disconnect from You.’ And grew from my increasing disenchantment with how disconnected we seem to be in the modern world while, ironically, having more ways of connecting than ever before. The final offering in Quadtych is ‘Oun Srolanh Bong’, which, for the purposes of this tale, loosely translates as ‘girl loves boy’.
