Ashley Farley's latest women's fiction novel, Sail Away , is a powerful, beautiful novel about friendship and chosen family set with a gorgeous setting.

Through my good fortune of partnering with Kate Rock Book Tours I’ve been introduced to some fantastic authors. But my favorite among them has been Ashley Farley. She tells great stories with characters you’d want to be friends with, set in places you wish you were. This was the ninth book of hers I’ve read and she keeps getting better.

In this third full novel of Farley’s Palmetto Island series, a few of the characters from the previous books find themselves at a crossroads. One is dealing with the combination of joy and stress involved with planning her wedding, one is trying to recover from PTSD after escaping an abusive marriage, and one is trying to achieve career success while figuring out what’s next for her life.

When a new woman comes to the island with her daughter in tow, she’s in need of more help than she’s willing to admit. But how can she find the support and love she needs before it’s too late?

Sail Away is a great book, full of strong women who ultimately realize that they can’t solve their problems alone. These aren’t damsels in distress but they’re willing to come to each other’s rescue and even ask for help when they need it the most.

Farley is a born storyteller, and she can create images in your head that will leave you longing to pack your suitcase and head to these fictional places. I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Thanks to Kate Rock Book Tours for inviting me on the tour and providing me with a complimentary advance copy of the book in exchange for an unbiased review!!

Such a great series set in the Low Country. This book in the series features, Becca and Happy (Harper), who are visiting Palmetto Island because Becca doesn't have good news in her life and wants to give her daughter a memorable summer. There are also other main storylines featuring Hannah, Sydney, and Amelia.

The crux of this book focuses on PTSD, fear, sorrow, and joy. The phrase "it takes a village" could not be any more appropriate for this book. No one should have to live alone or without the help of others, but sometimes it takes the influence of those around you to help one realize that life isn't meant to be traveled alone. We all need the support of friends and family to make it through.

I like that the characters deal with real-life issues. Anyone reading this book will probably be able to relate to one or more of the characters and their situation. Of course, there are also characters to not like or be frustrated with their actions. But it adds conflict and tension before everything is resolved.

Sail Away takes us back to Palmetto Island to visit some old friends and get introduced to new ones. This is Southern Fiction at its best. Along with wonderful characters, the author also deals with some major problems especially that of Alzheimer's disease and its devastating effect.

This novel has all of the characters from the first three books in the series along with a newcomer Becca and her daughter Happy. Becca has rented a house on the island for the summer next door to Hannah who is busy planning her summer wedding. They become friends and Becca becomes friends with Amelia, Max and Birdie. Becca has told her new friends that she wants to spend the summer with her daughter but the more they get to know her, the more they realize that something is not quite right in her life. She often forgets things and at times seems spaced out. When they find out her secret, they rally around her to make life smoother for her and her daughter. They become a family made of the people who love her and care about her and her daughter. Along with the story line about Becca and Happy, there is lots of other stuff going on -- weddings, new boyfriends, old boyfriends and lots of love and good times between friends.

One of my favorite things about Ashley Farley books is that they feature older characters. Ashley Farley writes books about women for women. Her characters are mothers, daughters, sisters, and wives facing real-life issues. I don't know if there are other planned books in this series but I sure hope so because the characters all feel like old friends and I'd love to visit them again.

Thanks to the author for a copy of this book to read and review.

This is book #4 and the conclusion of the delightful, heartfelt Palmetto Island series. As I began reading this book, I felt the warm feeling of visiting a much loved, familiar place. Once again, I was right in the midst of the lives of those who live on Palmetto Island.

Hannah and Ethan get engaged and begin planning a summer wedding. Ethan surprises Hannah with a beach cottage on Palmetto Island. The renovations of the Palmetto Hotel have been completed and Birdie is expanding her restaurant to include a catering division. Chef Sydney agrees to cater Hannah and Ethan’s wedding and reconnects with her high school boyfriend after 10 years. Amelia is settling in Point Pleasant and recovering from the past abuse and trauma she’s suffered while her relationship with Jonathan is moving forward although somewhat rocky. In the cottage next door to Hannah Becca and her 9-year-old daughter, Happy move in for the summer. Becca is suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s that is progressing faster than expected. She is a single parent without any family and is worried about when she can no longer care for Happy, who will.

As this heartfelt story unfolds, it is apparent how friends and family come together to help and support one another through tough and happy times. Hearts are broken, secrets are revealed, some relationships are shattered, and some are healed. The characters are well-developed and strong. This story is captivating as is the entire series. It was bittersweet to turn the last page as there were happy outcomes to celebrate, however, I was sad to be leaving Palmetto Island.

I have read all the books in this series, but this one for me was the best of the best. This series has revolved around Max, Birdie, and Hannah who live in the small town of Palmetto Island, and each book has featured these three and with each book we meet someone new, Amelia in book 3, Amelia comes back to town, and renews her friendship with Max and Birdie and we also met Sydney who works with Birdie in her Café. In this last book of the series, we meet Becca and Happy, mother and daughter who have come to the Island for the summer season. Hannah is getting married and Sydney needs to come to terms with someone and something from her past.

Becca forms friendship with these women, while trying to hide her secret and Hannah is trying not lose her mind while trying to plan her wedding and Sydney gets in contact with the guy from her past and shares a secret he never knew and the real reason she left him 10 years ago. These women along with Max, Birdie, and Amelia will come to the aid of all three of these women in life changing moments they are facing.

Of all the books this one really got to my heart the most. I was actually almost sobbing out loud in the middle of the night when I was reading this book. This book deals with a subject that is hard for some people to read about, early onset Alzheimer's and what a mother must do to make sure her child is looked after when she can’t. Have plenty of tissues ready when you read this one. I am sorry to see the last of this series, but maybe in the future Ashley Farley will bring us back to Palmetto Island.

Wow. I felt so many emotions reading this. I spoke with #ashleyfarleyauthor a while back about this book. She mentioned it’s bittersweet. I agree it’s the perfect word to describe it. There are complex & strong women in this series that have their own stories & pasts to work through, all while surrounding dear Becca with all the support & love they can give. Toward the end, Becca has a moment where I understand the true meaning behind this title.
I found myself struggling with what I wanted the outcome to be & in true #FarleyFemaleFictionFashion, she found a way to wrap up these stories to a satisfying conclusion.
#AshleyFarley is one of my fave authors. I’m truly honored to read her moving books.

Sail Away by Ashley Farley

Wow! What a great ending to a great series! I absolutely adored this book! This is my 7th Ashley Farley book and her books are total comfort reads for me. Just something warm and cozy about her books and knowing I will enjoy whatever story she writes.

This is the 4th book in The Palmetto Island Series. 1. Muddy Bottom (novella prequel) 2. Change of Tides 3. Lowcountry on my Mind 4. Sail Away

In Sail Away, we catch up with old characters and meet Becca and her daughter Harper, who move next door to Hannah and Gus. Becca is hiding two painful secrets. The women of Palmetto Island come together to help Becca deal with her painful past.

I loved this book and cannot recommend this series enough!

I loved picking up the storyline in the Palmetto Island series. In this 4th book, we get to see some of our fav characters like Hannah and Birdie but we also get to meet some nee characters like Sydney, Becca and Happy.

Like the rest of the books in this series, the storyline focuses on strong women who are friends and show up for each other, sharing the hard things of life around motherhood, relationships and more.

These stories all culminate in their lives overlapping and community. This one particularly focuses on some harder more sensitive topics like adoption, abusive marriages, infertility and infidelity.

Sail Away is my favorite of Ashley Farley's Palmetto Island Series. Characters from previous books in the series are revisited and we meet new characters as well. I married later in life and identified so deeply with Amelia and hopes for having a good relationship with her boyfriend, Jonathan's daughters. Ms. Farley perfectly captured what it feels like for a woman in her 50's who has never had children and wishes that she did to meet a boyfriend/lover's children. Becca's tragic story hit home as well. My brother-in-law died two years ago from early onset Alzheimer's disease. The progression of the disease was fast but not as fast as Becca went through. The book is not all sadness and has many "Happy" moments! Thank you to Ashley Farley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Another @ashleyfarleyauthor 5 star read coming your way. By now you all should know she is an auto-read author for me, and SAIL AWAY her newest release certainly lives up to all expectations. SAIL AWAY is book 4 in the Palmetto Island series, and although I highly suggest you read this entire series just because it is brilliant SAIL AWAY (as well as every book in the series) can be read as a stand alone.

I think of all the books in this series this one is my absolute favorite. It deals with a topic that was completely unexpected yet so common.

We catch up with some of our old friends from the previous books and are introduced to Hannah and her daughter Becca. They are renting a cottage on Palmetto Island for some mother - daughter time. Of course while there she is befriended by the tribe of friends that we all know and love from the previous books. As they get to know Hannah more, they realize that something is amiss in her life, and when they find out what her secret is, you better believe these ladies rally and become the family Hannah and Happy really need right now.
In the meantime, we have weddings, boyfriends, and tons of drama still going on in the background of Palmetto Island, which is quite the usual for this group of girls, and they help keep this book unputdownable.

Ashley Farley truly is the queen of women’s fiction. Her books are highly relatable and realistic. All of her characters become integrated into your own life as personal friends, and when the books end, you miss them like crazy. She writes about women of all ages and real life problems and every single book is a page - turner. SAIL AWAY truly is a masterpiece, but I expect nothing less from Ashley Farley anymore. Highly Recommend.

SIDEBAR: Going on vacation? Looking for some books to take with you? This series is the perfect bingeworthy stack. The books are easy to pack or easily downloaded. Plus Palmetto Island gives you all the beach vibes you’re looking for, trust me. You won’t want to put them down.

Happy Reading & Be Nice friends!

This is the final book in the series. It focuses on the psychological aspects of the main characters.
"A mother struggles to provide for her child. Three strong women form a village to help a friend in need.
Becca has embarked on the most important mission of her life. She trusts no one, and she’s running out of time. On a whim, she rents a beach cottage on Palmetto Island for the summer. She’s searching for a solution to her problem. Help comes in an unexpected friendship with the young woman next door.
Hannah has three months to plan her dream wedding. While she’s eager to marry the man of her dreams, she finds the logistics of combining households and the details of organizing her event overwhelming. When she learns of a new friend’s crisis, she drops everything to come to her aid.
Sidney forges ahead with her successful career as a chef, while her heart remains in the past. On impulse, she reaches out to her old boyfriend on social media, and they rekindle their relationship. Chemistry between them still exists. But is it enough? Can she live with her secret? Or will she risk her happiness by revealing the truth?
Amelia is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. She seeks therapy in order to put the past behind her. Do all her problems stem from her abusive marriage? Or is something missing from her life? Will she give up the possibility of a future with the love of her life to fulfill another dream?
The paths of these four women collide in a dramatic conclusion. Farley once again reminds us that family is more than blood ties." synopsis copied

As always Ashley Farley just writes perfection. Her books are always beautiful and dynamic.

Sail Away is no different. In the third book, Sail Away, in her Palmetto Island series. This book begins with powerhouse chapters and they never stop! We are introduced to multiple new characters in this book. At first, I was a little wary of whether I would enjoy having so many news stories being told and feeling like I was getting more from the original crew. However, as I continued to read the chapters I fell in love with the new characters and what their stories had to offer the lives of our more established characters.

I loved getting a better look into Amelia and her future. As well as we heard a lot more about Hannah, Ethan, Gus, and their future together.

I think the author did a wonderful job tackling the hard-to-talk-about issue of Alzheimer’s disease. We get to see an in-depth sort of look at the situations that can affect family members of those who suffer from the disease.

As always Palmetto Island is my favorite series and makes me want to live there. The sense of community and support that is shown is next level amazing! I also loved the addition of Greenville, SC (we have very close friends who live there- we visited once and it is such a wonderful town!)

Thanks again to @ashleyfarleyauthor and @katerockbooktours for gifting me a copy of this book. I always love books by this author.

Wow! Loved it!

Sail Away is the conclusion to the Palmetto Island series and I hate to see it end! The characters are wonderful and the writing is amazing as always. Ashley Farley really knows how to write a story so much so that I was laughing, crying and it nearly broke my heart. It was truly one of the best books the author has written...
It was also nice to see things come together for the primary characters with a few bumps along the way.
I highly recommend you read this series because you won't be disappointed. You will be swept away to the coast of South Carolina (which holds a special place in my heart) to the low country where friends, family, and neighbours help each other out. This series along with most of the authors other series will warm your heart. It's like you are part of the family when reading...I can't say this enough...that Ashley Farley really knows how to tell a story!
I wish I could give it more than a 5 star rating....it deserves so many more stars!

I'm not eloquent when it comes to reviews and I don't like to give the story line away....I hope that when I do review a book and recommend it that someone out there will give this series a chance! Because you won't regret it.

Well my dear book friends, I’ve found my favorite in the Palmetto Island series. This one was rough due to a characters Illness but, it was such a beautiful story. Ashley Farley just knows how to write and tell these exquisite stories and I’m so delighted to be able to read them.

Palmetto Island, a small and very charming town home to residents who have stories and pasts that can keep you talking forever. In Sail Away, Hannah and Ethan are planning their wedding, Birdie is expanding her business and Amelia is left with a hard decision. New characters, Becca and Happy come to town facing a hard future and they all end up becoming friends. Sydney’s past comes back and she’s forced to tell her old boyfriend the truth.

I absolutely loved, loved, loved this one! It almost read like a movie and the beach scenes kept me wanting more. I always finish and want to keep reading. The descriptions of the town, beach and homes just makes me crave that salty air. Thank you to Ashley and Kate Rock for having me on this tour! The cover is stunning and I’m so proud to display on my shelf!

Having read a number of Ashley Farley's books, I was looking forward to reading Sail Away. Wow, it was a powerful book about friendships and families, and sometimes families are those we choose and not those we are born into. Readers return to the beautiful setting of Palmetto Island and meet new characters among those we've seen before in the previous books of the Palmetto Island series--so good to catch up and see where their lives have taken them. Farley keeps the reader's attention as she reveals the characters' backgrounds and secrets layer by layer. She expertly tackles the hard places in life. She portrays well the impending tragedy and how these relatable and realistic characters rally to stand in the gap, to meet the needs, to comfort and encourage. I want these gals to be my friend!! Readers who love Southern fiction, and romance will not want to miss Sail Away. I can't wait to read more from this author. I read a complimentary copy of the ebook and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.

I am sad that this is the final book. The ladies of Palmetto Island feel like friends.

Becca has rented a cottage for the Summer and plans to spend as much time as she can with her 10 year old daughter Happy. Becca has a secret that needs a solution before time runs out.

Hannah and Ethan are engaged. Ethan surprises Hannah by buying the cottage next to Becca. Hannah and Ethan want to get married in 3 months so Hannah has alot to accomplish in a short time

Sydney is the Chef at Birdies Cafe. Birdie ask Sydney to consider heading the catering business along with the restaurant. Sydney reaches out to her ex boyfriend and realizes the chemistry is still sizzling. Will her secret break them apart?

Amelia is suffering from PTSD from her abusive marriage. She is doing well in therapy but still feels something is missing.

Sail Away will give you all the feels. A story of friendship, relationship, and Alzheimers disease. Women coming together to help one another. The perfect beach read!

Pack your bags and head to Palmetto Island!

This is the fourth book in the “Palmetto Island” series and it is great!

I was so excited to return to the island with old friends, new friends, and the beach!
Life is moving forward for Hannah and Ethan, Amelia, and Sydney. It was refreshing to catch up with them all!

There is a lot of emotion as Becca and her daughter Happy are newcomer's to Palmetto Island.
Becca rents a cottage there to spend the summer with her daughter.
She must plan for their future and think things through. What better place than an island!
They both need friendship, warmth and sunny sky days and especially as Becca realizes her devastating illness is progressing rapidly!
The wonderful residents on Palmetto Island, together offer safety, support, love and help!
Will this village be enough?

You will truly love this magical place and the folks that live here!

Ashley Farley has done it again! Excellent!

Oh my gosh! I love this series so much. And Ashley has once again pulled together a great cast of characters to create another amazing story on Palmetto Island.

Four very different women come together, each with their own baggage and issues, and are there for each other, to support one another and be the best kinds of friends that they can be.

Sail Away will tug on your heartstrings and make you want to see the good in all people. There is definitely some drama and conflict among the four women but watching them work through the issues was totally worth it. Such a heartwarming story!

I adore this Palmetto Island series. You are going to want to start with the first one and binge-read your way through the whole series—beautiful story-lines, interesting characters, plenty of drama, love, and support, as well as an amazing setting. What more could you ask for?

I highly recommend Sail Away, as well as this whole series!

⛵️ Sail Away ⛵️

I’m so happy to be back in Palmetto Island! I’m truly obsessed with this series and it’s like catching up with old friends.

I liked that we had a few new characters in this book, but that we stayed mostly with the main characters. I love Hannah and her family with Gus and Ethan. I love that he surprised her with a beach house and a proposal (who would turn that down?) and it was right next to Becca and Happy’s rental.

I love that Max, Birdie, and Amelia have all found romantic partners and have businesses and life to help keep them busy. I love how they all rely on each other for support and friendship. It seems like this was wrapped up in this book, but I really hope there is another book!

Thank you so much to @ashleyfarleyauthor for this incredible series and @katerockbooktours for my gifted copy. This whole series is out now and you can read part 1 for free on Amazon!

A fabulous ending to the Palmetto Island series! Every new book in this series was like returning to the beach with friends. I loved the beach descriptions and the map at the beginning of the book, really helps to layout the location in my mind. In "Sail Away", we got to revisit with old time friends such as Birdie, Max and Hannah while meeting a new friend such as Becca and getting to know Sydney more. Ashley Farley is a wonderful storyteller who tells such real life heartwarming stories while mixing in some tense, real life conflict. I will miss coming "home" to Palmetto Island with these forces to be reckoned with women!

Ashley captured the amazing way life can bring things together. This is the 4th and final book in the series. Things that took place in the past, come up in the present, with the right people being in the right place at the right time. Love is in the air, and with the love there are decisions to make. Whether it is the couple who got engaged, or the older women who decided to take the next step in the relationship, or the love between a mother and her child. Ashley is a wonderful writer, and she captures how life can put people just where they need to be. I am still thinking about one sentence that, when I read it, didn't seem significant, but it is still on my mind. I won't tell you what the sentence is because I think when you read it you will ask the same question.

Ashley Farley never disappoints. This fourth Palmetto Island book made me laugh, cry, and at times a bit mad (mostly at Cary, Jon, & Jake) and feeling all the feels. I know every series must come to an end, but my heart wants more. I have so many questions left unanswered, but that could just be the overthinker in me. This is a beautiful, thought provoking, and emotional story of friends that become family and would do absolutely anything for each other. It really does take a village! If you haven't read this series, please start at the beginning with Muddy Bottom and work your way through! It's a great series to read for your summer reading goals.
