This book was great!

As an anxiety sufferer myself I found this book really interesting and informative. I have read a lot of books on this topic, but this has got to be up there as one of my favs!

It is broken down into small concise sections, and the writing style is very easy to read and understand. The author Dr Rachel Allan has worked hard to write a book that still has all the facts, information and science - but makes it super readable and easy to digest too.

I really liked the reading experience, and learnt a lot too. I would recommend this for friends and family members of an anxiety sufferer who want to understand it a bit better. But also for the anxiety sufferers themselves.
This book needs more buzz and more hype! This book will help a lot of people!! Thank you Dr Allan!!

Am I new to the world of helping those with anxiety. Well in fact I’m not we help those with anxiety every day in the things we do and do not do, say and do not say; however I am new to actively thinking about what a say in a given situation. As a school teacher for children with SEND I found this book very helpful explaining both the physical and internal side effects of an anxiety storm as well as giving me a clear guide and step by step process to try and go through to help.

Informative and very pleasant to read. I really liked how science based information was explained in simple, but not oversimplified language. I liked how everything was segregated into sections which were summarised at the end of every chapter. The progression of topics was very smooth as everything built upon what was previously discussed.

I wouldn’t call it an extensive account of anxiety or ways to tame it, but it’s a great and very reassuring read for those who are only begging their journey of supporting someone.

It’s not an in-depth, scientific analysis and if you have ever come across any mental health support resources - most of it will be familiar to you. But I still think it’s written beautifully so even if you don’t learn anything novel, it might help to refreshen or organise your knowledge.

I requested a copy of this book as I needed a refresher on how to help my son with his anxiety, which is really affecting his life. I have done courses before but recently have
felt I'm not doing the right thing.

This book is simple to follow and just what I needed to remind me of ways to help him.

Also the self-care part at the end was something I needed to hear too.

I will reread this in a short while to make sure I'm still doing right.
