What would you do if the man you're supposed to be spending the rest of your life with is suddenly the devil? When I met Frank, I had thought I'd met the love of my life. I had thought I'd finally found the perfect man. When Frank proposed, I was over the moon.
My world took a nose dive the next morning when I learned that Frank Gala, sexy construction worker, was in fact Francesco Galeazzi, CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation. With some real clear boundaries about Frank's money, I agreed to continue with the wedding plans, hoping I could get used to being married to a man I wasn't sure I ever really knew.
But the world was conspiring against me. Not only did I find myself in a situation I wasn't sure how to handle, but someone had convinced Frank that I was a gold digger. Left out in the cold with a baby on the way, I did the only thing I could do. I began to build a life for me and my child without the father in the picture.
I usually love Aja Fox, but I struggled with so many things in this book.
#1. The way Frank treated Henry and wouldn’t even hear him out. So childish. This was after Frank had LIED to Henry for months about who he really was. He even proposed before telling him the whole truth. Ugh….
#2. Why on earth would anyone in this family believe the lying brother-in-law? I can’t even remember his name right now, but everyone in the family hated him. Did no one find it suspicious that he had blackmail material on Henry? Even though everyone loved Henry? Really? No one? Okay….
#3. Henry forgave way too easily for me. Frank ruined his life. He had to move across the country AFTER spending time in jail while pregnant. I understand he may be a good father but don’t sleep with him until he grovels. Geesh….
#4. Frank’s family owed Henry and Ryan major apologies for how they were treated. It wasn’t enough.
#5. Martino better grovel his ass off to get Ryan back. I hope Ryan has more of a backbone than Henry
All in all, this was so upsetting I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. I actually like the idea IF Frank had shown the proper amount of remorse and groveling, but he got off way too easy.

So you pretty much know 50% of the story by reading the synopsis and the rest really so Frank believes Henry cheated on him and treats Henry extremely bad. So bad that Henry moves clear across the country to get away from him, but he forgives him instantly and lets him know his daughter because he is a good guy. If he was a good guy Henry would have never moved!!!!’
This book was a complete mess. I have no idea why I even kept reading it as long as I did. It was literally the most inconsistent head scratching thing I’ve ever read. I was going to post a long rant of why this book sucked so much but I think I wasted enough time reading it that I don’t want to waste any more by giving it a long review. Let’s just say the description sounds so promising but it did not deliver at all.
This is the type of book that I really love - angsty with HEA.
When I read the blurb, I just knew I had to read this. Not exactly what I was expecting, but it didn't disappoint much either. I'm excited for Martino's story, and curious how he'd redeem himself. I must admit that I think the brothers (Martino and Frank) are really idiots, and I hope Gianni isn't!
I feel so bad for whatever Henry had gone through after the 'cheating' incident (jail jail jail ugh), and the only thing I'm kinda disappointed in this book is that the parents never really apologized to him? I mean, at the end it was shown that they're okay but really? No apologies? The end seemed rush, so I hope in the next book (hoping it's Martino/Ryan's) it will be a bit longer and... might I say, more angst? 🧡💜
There were some things I had REALLY hard time with. First of all, Frank lied for MONTHS and made Henry sign an NDA before telling him who he really was. Henry changed the terms of the prenup, in Frank’s favor, before he signed it and the family had fallen in love with him. Then the conniving brother-in-law, Stewart claimed he had proof that Henry was cheating on Frank (granted the proof was quite believable). I just couldn’t believe that neither the family nor Frank would give Henry a chance to explain/defend himself.
Frank cut all ties to Henry because he was heartbroken and he had no idea that his family had not only tried to give Henry money but also put out a restraining order on him. Henry had no way to find out what he could have possibly done to make Frank and the family hate him or to tell Frank he was pregnant. Henry moves across country with his best friend Ryan so they can raise their children together.
FIVE YEARS PASS and Frank runs into Henry on a business deal and even though there are still sparks, Henry doesn’t want to speak to Frank after the wY he was treated.
When Frank discovers where Henry lives, he confronts him and discovers he has a daughter. It seems like Henry forgave Frank too easily and that Frank didn’t grovel enough for everything that happened BUT, he did acknowledge that his punishment was missing the first four years of his child’s life which crushed him.
There was also drama involving the kids being kidnapped and held for ransom. Then there was a silent attack on Henry & Ryan’s home where people were hurt.
***** POV… multi first person
Standalone or series… book 1 in series CAN be read as standalone
I’m usually a fan of this author but this book was just ok for me. Being humanly possible I don’t think the author consider Henry’s feeling into the mix. After being separated from frank for a long time and being angry he just forgives him in one day and takes him back? Henry was in jail and beaten up almost possible sexual assaulted and could’ve lost his baby. Henry had to give up everything he loved pursuing to take better care of his child. Henry lost years of romance and his daughter lost her chance at having both parents just because frank refused to talk to Henry. I mean if it has happened recently I’d be ok but 5 years is a long time and people change I mean even frank started seeing other people so obviously he wasn’t that upset about it. If I was Henry it would take a lot and I mean a lot more time to forgive frank and his family. It’s was good in the beginning but toward the middle and end the book just fell short for me. Frank didn’t even really prove himself to be forgiving except seducing Henry into forgiving him which is sad. While frank was living his life and seeing other people Henry was barely making it struggling being a single father and never had his chance to actually find someone he could trust and would love him back the way he actually deserved. Henry forgave the family too easily too and martino was always out to get Henry at every turn. Wish the author had just incorporated more of the book of Henry actually learning to forgive frank and so they could have an actual future.
I gave this 3 stars because this is a new author for me and I like their writing style. For the book, I'll admit this story started out very well and strong up until the whole (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!) Stewart part and it went downhill from there.
Things that threw me off 1: They had absolutely no trust in Stewart so they had no right to believe him. They all knew he was mercenary yet they forked out 5 Mil cause he said he had proof of something? That doesn't even make sense.
2: The whole family, even the parents just turned on him without hearing his side of things? That seems very farfetched based on their previous interactions. At the very least they would have confronted him with the "proof" Frank gave them and the whole lie/misunderstanding would have been resolved.
3: So after everything that happened, Henry forgave Frank in a day??? Where was the groveling? Henry deserved some groveling (and so did we!)
4: What's with the family always saying "we have a lot of money"? Not sure why they think it was a justification for being and reacting horrible to Henry without even giving him a chance to defend himself.
5: The whole crime part of the book - kidnapping, attempted murder, and so on, felt a little unnecessary TBH.
Overall this had the potential to be a really great book but it unfortunately wasn't.
Good storyline but the MC was very quick to forgive. At least some resistance would have been nice instead of an immediate tumble into bed in less than 24hrs of seeing frank again.
the love interest (and his family) has so many red flags, and the main character needs a spine. take the best friend and start a queer platonic polycule ffs.
While I loved the characters of Henry and Frank's grandmother, Nonna, the story was a bit hard to wrap my head around. Frank, who introduced himself to his boyfriend turned fiancé as someone completely different, he reveals his true identity by taking the man he loves and proposed to straight to his lawyer's office where he reveals himself as the CEO and millionaire, getting Henry to sign a pre-nup. Henry then meets Frank's family and he wins them over.
Due to circumstances that are so outlandish it's a bit unrealistic, Henry finds himself out without being able to learn, much less explain, why he's but out of Frank's life. Five years later, everything turns on it's head when Henry runs into Frank and easily goes back to pining for the man who basically lied to him from the beginning and then making his life hell when he was accused of something he didn't even do. Frank isn't a likable character, yet he and his family, all who share the responsibility of Henry being tossed out without explanation, believe that their mistake can be fixed with promises of a future.
Despite me liking most of Aja Foxx's books, this one fell short.

Henry and Frank was the happy couple until Henry found out that Frank was really Francesco and a Millionaire. Even after the NDA, the pre-nup and then meeting the family they were still very happy and being engaged didn't hurt. But, because of a jealous in-law Frank question Henry's fidelity and broke up with him cutting him completely out of his life. It took 5 years and a chance meeting to get them in a room together that was the beginning of their way back to each other. After a lot of twist, turns and family drama they're finally became not only a couple again but a family that included their 4 year daughter. Great Read!!😍😍😍
i was so close to giving this book a five star. i loved the book but was disappointed by the ending, i wanted to see what the conversations would of been like between henry and franks parents and how they would mend that relationship and re-build that trust. i also wanted to see more moments between frank, eva and henry. i felt the ending was rushed which is a bummer but other wise i enjoyed the story!
A strange education system when one can get both undergraduate and masters degrees within two to three years whilst pregnant then coping with a baby. Then there was building a sole practice as a highly respected forensic accountant in two years. Obviously the MC had not slept for five years, probably why he so easily forgave the other MC. Yep, fiction - not that the whole m-preg didn’t give that away.
A really good read! I wish it was a bit longer; I'd like to of had more meat and potatoes, as they say! Yeah, it's another story you want to pull your hair out and scream, "if only they would they had talked it out"! Communication is the crux of most drama in story telling and real life! Next book please!
Nice ra pd, nalingaw ra ko although wa ko kauyon nga dali ra kaayo niya gipasaylo si Frank after sya gi betray. Gi cut off from his life after being wrongfully accused of cheating nya wa man lang sya storyaa. Poor Henry wa kasabot nganong gi buwagan syag kalit. Unya mej d pd satisfying ang ending. Kay wa mm lmg ni beg ang parents hmph. But will still read more from this author
3 stars… This was wild and I liked Frank but the lying in the beginning was honestly just so ridiculous and then to turn around and assume the worst about the person you love is so ridiculous. Especially when it was basically all your jealousy talking. Also his brother being all weird about his roommate when we all know what they did…? So weird!
Ugh, I hate a separation arch built off of a ham-fisted miscommunication. Also crazy work to drag your roomie into your problems, he did not deserve that. Speaking of- I actually loved their dynamic, best friends who babysit each other's kids, so cute.
It had a slow start but was with persevering .the characters developed along with the plot line .although the plot line was predictable it aS nevertheless exciting I would be interested in book two
I really enjoyed this book. I would have liked to have seen Eva and Arty's birth. The jump in time was a little too much. The book was very well written. The ending was a little rushed. But overall enjoyable.
Really enjoyed the book but a few things did bug me. How could Frank just believe someone else over his love about cheating and also that not so good Stewart guy. Money really creates a lot of problems and definitely makes you paranoid !
