Overall, a dull story that meanders about going nowhere.

Book one was fun and interesting. It had a solid premise and kept me enthralled. Book two turned into an extended shopping trip, that's it. Halfway through book three I was supremely bored, and I no longer care what was happening. The interesting details are lost amid the day-to-day dross. Characters are added so fast that I no longer kept track of who was who. At that point I have up and called it quits.

Annoying YA book with a MC is now in my top 5 of most unlikeable pricks. The MC is the kind of guy you meet at a event and want to throat punch him for being mansplaining, misogynistic, know it all prick.

Gryff the Griffin Rider is a fun, light fantasy series with a great mix of adventure, humor, magic, and a healthy dose of harem dynamics. The narration by Daniel Wisniewski and Rebecca Woods is consistently excellent across all five books—they truly bring Gryff and the supporting cast to life.

One of the running ironies throughout the series is that Gryff never wanted more than one wife... and yet, by the time the story wraps up, he has more than a handful! Watching him navigate those relationships alongside epic battles and world-shifting events makes for plenty of laughs and engaging moments.

The series evolves in some unexpected ways. Book 4 especially shakes things up, with Gryff thrown into a new universe and a completely different leveling system—Sloss does a great job explaining these mechanics for readers who may not have a gaming background. The setting at that point even reminded me of Booty Bay and Gnomeregan from World of Warcraft—a fun little parallel.

By Book 5, I found myself thinking Sloss might pull one of the boldest twists of the series (I suspected one of Gryff’s harem members might turn villain!), but that wasn’t the direction it ultimately went. The story concludes in a way that nicely bookends Gryff’s arc, though it almost felt like it could’ve continued into one final, more climactic installment. As the author notes in the epilogue, it was time for Gryff to focus on being an emperor, not a godlike soldier.

All in all, this was a really enjoyable series. If you’re looking for an easy, entertaining fantasy listen with solid narration, this is a great pick.

Incel masturbation fanfiction

The worst thing I've read in a LONG time. Homophobic jackass who, inexplicably, attracts all sorts of women. Women that he constantly abused. At one point his genitalia grew to enormous proportions, enough so that he injured the women during sex, which, of course, they loved. He also threatened them if they did anything he didn't like, after telling them to do whatever they wanted. The final straw for me was when he straight up raped a woman, she loved it, of course. She had always wanted a big strong man to dominate her.
Lots of other problems: The crappy town to empire building (takes about a book to go from barely a town to a huge empire). Monotonous, repetitive dialogue (mostly about how great the MC is).
If I could give this zero stars I would. The author should be fired from a cannon, into the sun, making the world a better place.

Once again: Incel rape fanfiction. Tom out

I'm at 42% as per my kindle tablet and I can't finish this. I usually finish everything I start reading, no matter how bad.

It had an interesting concept. The first book was okay, but then the main character turns into a demi god and the plot devolves into a resource gathering shopping list. There's the typical mix of races you usually see in a fantasy universe setting and apparently none of them have any qualms about slaughtering and eating the enemy races. The characters are a such a blur that I can't keep track of who they are or their relationship to the main character.

I've seen better stories on the online fan fiction websites.

This was excellent!

I was surprised, this was so much better than I thought it was going to be. That fact that the whole series was released in completion was a plus. But it did cause me to stay up too late more than a few nights because I couldn’t stop reading. There are more than a few grammar errors but they did detract from the story too much.

Amazing!

Great variation on a fairly common theme. The story and the characters really really set this apart! While I will be sad to not see Gryff and his family have even greater adventures, it's a great place for them to rest and reap the rewards of their hard work.
Fantastic!

An Amazing Adventure

This was a very long read, my longest in years. But, it was an Amazing experience for the entire book. So many adventures on so many worlds. I couldn't believe the story was so long, but I just had to read more.
Was great cover to cover!

Long single read of the omnibus and really good. Characters were great, sad when the wives would die. The bum beetle was funny

Wow

Of this type of book, it's probably the best I've ever read. I'm meaning the whole books 1-5.
Awesome story telling.
