Ache For You is book three in the Slow Burn Series by J.T. Geissinger. I read and fell in love with the first two books in this series. Each book is so different. This one is an enemies to lovers story and I could not put it down. I experienced just about every emotion possible within these pages. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

Kimber DiSanto is a seamstress. She has a little dress shop and is about to marry the man of her dreams. The man she has been dating for the past three years. Within the span of just a few days, though, Kimber loses everything. Her fiancé left her at the alter, her business burned to the ground, and she got word that her father, who lives in Italy, was dying. Fate just keeps dealing her the blows.

After the death of her father, Kimber has also learned that she has a wicked stepmother she knew nothing about. Her father had a failing dress shop and her stepmother just happens to have the perfect buyer for it so Kimber can get back to her life in the States. But what sort of life does she have to get back to? None! So Kimber is going to stay and revive her father’s business.

beautiful seamstress

On top of everything else, there is Matteo. She initially met him at the air port and just can’t seem to shake him. He is quite literally the most beautiful man she has ever seen. But she learned the hard way that she is a bad judge of character. She’s positive he’s just as bad as her ex-fiance. All men are. For Kimber, the way to deal with all the stress that’s been thrown on her as of late is just to get mad, angry stinking mad! And Matteo seems more than willing to aggravate her and to enjoy being the recipient of all of her pent up anger.

sexy man in a suit

Matteo Moretti is rich and is used to getting whatever he wants. Any woman who has shown interest in him has always either been after his money or his title, usually both. But this beautiful woman, Kimber, isn’t interested in any of it. He can tell by the way she looks at him that she wants him. But she’s been hurt too deeply. He gets way too much enjoyment out of aggravating her. He’s determined, though, to win her over. When they shared their first kiss he knew that she was the only woman for him.

As Kimber tries to put her life back together, she is forced to face some truths. She learns so much about herself in those few weeks, things that she doesn’t like about herself. She can’t deny that she wants Matteo. He wakes up feelings in her that she has never experienced in her entire life. But, she is still convinced that underneath all that beauty, underneath all those pretty Italian words, that he is still untrustworthy.

Okay, first, I just have to repeat, I loved this book!!! Kimber was hurt in so many ways, she lost so much. Getting angry was the easiest way to deal with it. And who better to direct all that anger at then this beautiful man she can’t help but to lust after. The angry banter between these two was at times so much fun. But it was also sad because I just felt so bad for Kimber, well, for both of them. Because I truly loved Matteo and it was obvious to me that he was truly falling for her. But how many times can she push him away before he finally gives up? Before he has to accept that she is just too broken?

belt around the wrists

This is a fast paced, fun, steamy and also sweet book that I truly loved. J.T. has become one of my very favorite authors. The secondary characters in this one are also so much fun! This is one of those books that if you do have to put it down, it stays in your head. It did mine anyway. You really can’t go wrong with any of the books in this series. You should definitely check them out. I hope you’ll love them as much as I have.

This is going on my top ten reads for 2018, for sure

Reading this book felt like getting a massive dose of chocolate....right in the veins, and I finished it with the widest smile on my face (and possibly a sugar induced coma), but nothing -nothing, I tell you- can take away the joy and laughs that this book bestowed on me. JTG, you’re my favorite person (well, one of) and I love you...so much. Sniff.

3 Count Egotistico Stars ⭐

It's unfortunate when a storyline has the fundamentals to be great yet isn't. There is no denying Ache For You had some snort worthy moments synonymous of this great author, however there was so much back and forth, I struggled to remain interested.

The universe kinda hates Kimber DiSanto. I mean ditched at the altar, burying her father, and then losing her business all in 1 week? You need to be bathing in holy water after that amount of misfortune. Yet before she can even catch her breath, a deal with the devil turns out to be with a person there's no escaping.

I can't deal with this shit right now. I've got a wicked stepmother, canine stepsisters, and an arrogant, infuriating stepbrother I'd like to do all kinds of dirty things with.

It's a myriad of disastrous events and a man attracted to a grieving woman who hates him on sight. Even after numerous bitchslaps’, Matteo Moretti continues to try with Kimber. Admittedly his arrogance doesn't do him any favours, even if fate has spectacularly tied them together.

His smile deepens, dimpling his cheeks. “You know what they say. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”

“They also say you don’t have to be a cactus expert to know a prick when you see one.”

Finding herself in Italy, Kimber has just inherited a new family which includes Matteo. He not only wants her in his bed, but her fashion designs and father's business. As the punches keep coming, Kimber can't see beyond her resentment. However, it's quite possible that Matteo might have an ulterior motive that comes from a good place.

If she would listen and he was forthcoming with his intentions, we wouldn't have spent the entire story going around in circles. Needless to say, I didn't love this one.

~My 5 cents worth on a pet peeve. When an author uses a cultural influence through their story they should do their research. Being set in Italy and using their language, it must be grammatically correct. Otherwise it makes a mockery of the story. AND a main character with Italian roots who can't speak or understand the language? WTF?~

5 Fairytale⭐️

When Cinderella meets Prince Charming…😍

I literally feel like I’m on top of the world, after receiving this ARC. It was my most wanted book to read of the year and I got lucky to receive it months before the release day. Sue me for gloating. 😋

Read the blurb, to find out that it’s a modern fairytale of a young woman who gets left at the altar, then her father dies and her business goes up in flames. Literally. On top of that, she finds out that her father married a barracuda and she also has two evil stepsisters. Also, she meets Count Egotistico, also known as Prince Charming.

“And there he stands, all hunky, cocky six-and-a-hella-sexy-inches of him, dressed in a drop-dead gorgeous navy suit and his usual air of entitled superiority.”

Here’s Kimber and Matteo for you:

The problem is that after being left at the altar, right before saying “I Do”, she’s sworn of men, plus she doesn’t trust the beautiful creature, arrogant and way too good looking. And when he wants to buy her father’s business, well, a small war will begin.

“Then you’re really going to hate me. You’ll hate me over and over and over. I’ll make sure, bella, that you’ll hate me more than any other man you’ll ever meet.”

I can’t tell you more about the story, since it has so many unexpected twists, I’m afraid to spoil your fun. Trust me, you won’t be able to put this one down. Usually, J.T Geissinger doesn’t allow her readers to eat, sleep, drink or breathe while reading her books. This one is no exception.

I laughed a lot today, thanks to this amazing author. Even with all the drama and with heroine’s life falling apart. But also, when thinking about Matteo and his kissing and his everything….

“My uterus slow claps, then faints.”

Humorous, emotional, sexy and perfectly written, this is my absolute pink fairytale. 💕

“True love is when you can look at someone and say, ‘I know you will hurt me and disappoint me and fail me in a thousand different ways, and I accept that because you make me a better person. Because with you I become whole. Because I’d rather die than live a single day without you, come what may.”

I'm totally, madly, irrevocably inlove with this book!!!! You know a book is unbelievably good when you can't put it down and someone interrupts you and you have to put it down to deal with them but you silently plotting ways to kill them and not silently throwing a shoe at them..... Well that is how I felt! This book gave me all the feels.

Kimber (Heroine) and Matteo (Hero) as so adorable together. Their banter and sarcasm between the two were hilarious. Their sexual tension was off the charts. I fell inlove with them. They took time to actually have sex which I loved (I love myself some slow burn). They clearly had some misunderstandings between them but they never stopped having strong feelings toward each other even when Kimber wanted to believe she hated Matteo and he was a lying, thieving, handsome asshole. I loved how he loved her and it made me swoon. He did everything he could to get to be with Kimber. He is one of the best book boyfriends ever.

I wish I could read this book for the first time again. It is amazing!

HAS TO BE THE MOST HORRIBLE, HORMONAL AND EMOTIONALLY MANIPULATIVE HERO THIS AUTHOR HAS EVER WRITTEN!!!!!! Oh I forgot IMMATURE and a freaken oversensitive douchebag who doesn’t give a shit about other’s sensitivity unless it’s his mother.

The blackmail was callous, NOT romantic and cringeworthy!
Heroine’s boyfriend was cringeworthy at being cliched cheating ex turning out gay all along because daddy! And then claims she’s his best friend. If that’s how he treats his friends I don’t want to cross this guy and become his enemy.
Hero would have been a better presented character IF he was written as the cliched stereotyped gay fashion designer, with his drama. Not as a macho alpha man author desperately tried to portray. Try being the operative word here.

Also the last scene, where he used hs designs????? HOW was that a romantic gesture? It would have been if he did that WITH her permission. Without the permission bucko, it was stealing. The whole book was distasteful.

The only remotely likeable character would have been the heroine IF she was in fact the rude bitch most reviewers kinda promised (whinged) about. Yeah, nah. I don’t know where you guys are meeting your rude bitches peeps, this heroine ain’t one. Come visit me and my minions in Melbourne. We’ll teach you the differences. She was pretty much the backboneless quivering doormat like all other CR hs. Can’t even call her somewhat snarling reactions rude. They were just empty barks which the hero very much provoked and deserved each time. TBH. He should have been skilleted by boogie each time. But h or author didn’t consult me on how to write a sociopathic rude bitch. So yeah, abandon ship.

========

I just saw multiple ARC calling heroine names because she’s apparently rude and checked their other reviews where they swooned on heroes because they’re “oh so alphas” in other word: RUDE.

Needless to say, I would be reading this book.

I don’t care if people are rude or not, I do care if they’re judged for being rude because you’re a woman. I do care if it’s considered as a quality on men and a flaw on women.

Rudeness is not necessarily a turn off, double standards definitely is.

Over and out.

Oh no, I cannot believe I am not able to tolerate a "J.T. Geissinger" book and DNF'ing it but this book is borderline boring for me.

The heroine is way too annoying with her continuous assumptions and idiotic decisions, the plot-line is dull and despite the witty humor here and there, the book cannot keep my attention.

Also, the titles of royalty and Cindrella references are so not my cuppa, and no matter how much I try, I cannot relate to this story. Annoyed and bored, I am dropping it, unfortunately, on page 100 :(

The book is 300 pages, written in dual point of view.

This is a hilarious, sexy, enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy that had me giggling so much. It's a modern retelling of Cinderella, set in the gorgeous country of Italy, and of course, has a hunky Italian hero who dirty talks in Italian. Kimber and Matteo are amazing together – they do not get along yet the banter is witty and the chemistry is on fire. The story is a little over-the-top, a lot hilarious, and I had so much fun reading it.

Thanks to the publisher for generously providing me an ARC to review.

I can’t get GR to reconcile my 2 reviews for this book, so here’s a 2nd review that says the same as the original.

Despite my big-time love for the second book in this series, Melt for You, and my eagerness to read this one, I can't recommend it. I didn't find the premise plausible or the principal characters well characterized and/or believable (much less likeable), and the plot seems to recycle itself over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....

Kimber DeSanto, a little known fashion designer and our heroine, is left at the altar on what is supposed to be the most wonderful day of her life. Her groom has a total meltdown (as does his family) just before the ceremony is set to begin and the day ends in disaster. Hard on its heels, she learns her father (with whom she's VERY close, but hasn't visited or seen in five years) has a massive heart attack and is hospitalized, on the verge of death.

Kimber (she didn't like Kimberly so she abbreviated it. As one does.), frantically makes plans to return to her father in Italy, but she gets bumped from her flight for no discernible reason. A handsome stranger whom she incorrectly assumed was a paparazzi (her groom's family is wealthy and famous) and therefor loudly and offensively 'told off' after he very randomly propositioned her - offers her his first class seat instead. With a caveat.

The handsome stranger/not paparrazo wants her sketch book - filled to the brim with her ideas for a new fashion line. Oh, poor Kimber. What to do? He's a handsome, well dressed stranger kindly offering you a first class seat so that you can see your dying father before he passes away. What should you do? Obviously, you’re worried he’ll steal your sketchbook and and designs because there’s the HIGHLY UNLIKELY AND IN NO WAY BELIEVABLE POSSIBILITY he’ll be a dastardly fashion sketch stealing villain? Hmmm...tough call. Happens all the time.

The not-an-actual paparazzo identification.

The insults directed at a total stranger.

The random bump off an international flight you paid for.

The strange hot guy you insulted offering you a free first class seat.

The negotiation over a sketch pad which the guy barely got a look at.

Oh, no, those things actually never happen. So you can see how she struggles with what to do. Anyway, I digress. She gives him the notebook so she can see her Papa. (spoiler alert: HE IS A DASTARDLY FASHION SKETCH STEALING VILLAIN). Oh shit.

Anyway, this train wreck of a plot sets this ridiculous story in motion and it doesn’t really get any better from here.

Matteo Moretti is the hottie she insults at the airport - before and after he offers her his seat. But fortunately for Kimber, he likes her - ESPECIALLY when she acts like a total batshit nutball. I’m just going to leave it at that because it essentially sums up his character. He makes absolutely no sense - as a good guy, as a villain, or potential love interest for Kimber. At any point.

Suffice it to stay although all of the above takes place within the first quarter of the book, it goes from bad to worse from here on out. Nothing and no one in this story makes sense, and it’s a disappointing follow up to the novel that preceded it.

Very disappointing, unfunny and boring.

I’m a huge fan of enemies to lovers and this one was definitely that. Add in a bit of a Cinderella twist, a wild cast of characters and a hero that knows just how to push the heroine’s buttons and you’ve got yourself one fantastically fun read.

I enjoyed everything about the way this couple meet and continue to meet, how they completely clashed and the resulting steam of chemistry that smolders between them during each confrontation. Matteo was out to win Kimber from the first moment she ignored him and his methods were completely diabolical. He totally won me over with his fierce reactions to her snarky dismissals. Add in a bit of jealousy and I was gobbling up every delicious bite.

Kimber was one crazy, zany heroine. But then again, her life had just recently imploded and with all that she was dealing with I would assume it was either that or fall apart. She was feisty and completely snark-a-licious as she fended off Matteo and all his swoony goodness. Protection of her heart was her main priority but what she didn’t realize was all the fire she was throwing at him was only pulling him in further.

This was a great read with characters that kept me grinning throughout the story. The heat between Kimber and Matteo was sizzling and the angst, while low, was always on the edge of ratcheting up at any given moment. Not knowing how it was all going to go down kept me on the edge of my romantic seat. To top it all off, we’re given an epilogue that included one of the most original proposals I’ve ever read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I can't put my finger on why this one didn't work for me. I liked the characters (mostly just Kimber tbr), their fashion rivalries, the little games they played. But in the end the whole thing was pretty forgettable. I did like her giving him a fake number and telling him her name was Lorena Bobbitt, as in the woman who castrated her husband lmao. I didn't like her breaking her arm and both legs in the middle of his grand gesture. I have one question: ✨w h y

Oh boy, I know I am in the minority here, but I really struggled with this one. I could not stand the h, Kimber, at all. The back and forth banter drove me crazy. Then again, I must admit I usually do not read enemies to lovers that often, and this was definitely enemies to lovers OTT. I did love the H, Matteo, and he was probably the only reason I did not dnf this one.

Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book via Netgalley

Its not you, its me!!!And i’m really sorry!!
I see I’m in minority here. I was struggling with this book for more than 2 days, and more than 3 days for writing this review.

I have to say, i don’t like to write bad/negative reviews. But this book just didnt work out for me.
I’m a huge fan of J.T. Geissinger, her “Midnight Valentine” is just an epic story for me. I loved “Burn for you” so much.

I’m sorry, but “Ache for you” just was not for me: i did not feel good connection between MCs, i didnt like the author’s style. I could say, i was surprised by writing style... It was a rom-com (but i didn’t like the humor here), i did not see “slow burn” here, hero and heroine were kissing like from 50% of the book...
I did not like the heroine: she was crazy... mujer loca, you name it... Maybe author wanted to draw an Italian woman, but this heroine looked like poor educated one: she was rude, judgmental, barking at people all the time... And how she was drooling over this good hero... What a prayers to his beauty, his suits, his everything... She was sooooo ga-ga over him, fighting her attraction, and drooling al the way ... Ugggg
This hero i liked a lot: he was not man-ho, celibate some years before meeting our chica loca. He was a bit of mystery, we dont get much of his point of view here. But from the first time he saw this temperamental woman it was a love from first sight for him.

I love this author, actually she was my favorite CR author. But she is losing what makes her amazing, a book at a time. Even with my friend's negative reviews I was hopeful. Crazy female MCs would never put me off, if the crazy is balanced with logic. Yes, crazy can be logical, believe me I know. Sadly, it wasn't the case here. The characters were over the top, breathing walking contradictions. They thought or said something then did or said the exact opposite. Female MC's fake temper and all the 'I hate him but my uterus loves him' became very irritating. She is horrified by something he said or did, the next second, she is all over him. The male MC's 'i know you want me', riling her up all the time and smirking and chuckling at her played on my nerves. If you want to turn me off a male MC, make him smirk. The plot, if we can call it that, was also over the top and didn't make sense. I figured what he was planning to do early on, but that didn't explain the need to hide it nor his mean behavior. On the other hand, her plans for him were laughable. At some point (very early) I started skipping her monologue. Maybe that's why I rated it 2 stars and not 1. Overall, I didn't hate it. I just believe the author can do way better.

Down-on-her-luck Kimber—dumped by a wealthy fiancé at the altar—makes it to Italy, though not without more drama following her around, mostly in the form of another rich Italian tycoon. Only to realise that her dying father has remarried a calculative barracuda, left her with 2 stepsisters, and an evil stepmother.

If this rings familiar, that’s because ‘Ache for You’ is a Cinderella tale of sorts from riches to rags and riches again, only that it involves a truly unlikeable heroine and a mysterious Italian fashion magnate who somehow gets turned on by rudeness and a judgemental attitude.

Kimber’s tendency to overreact, her exaggerated hysteria and self-pity pouring through the pages from the start as she makes everything all about her and her misery had me wondering if I’d accidentally stumbled onto a bitchy reality series instead of a reconstructed fairytale romance. Gritting my teeth, I hoped it would get better as I read on but instead, it became more and more farcical to be believable. I just couldn’t get the connection between Kimber and Matteo—are sparks supposed to fly if the latter gets off on being verbally abused?

In essence, as much as fairytales are supposed to be much-beloved archetypes, I thought Geissinger’s own characters felt too ‘locked’ in their stereotypes (the rom-com, first person POV style of writing confirms this) to be anything more than caricatures flitting through the winding plot.

As much as I liked the first book in the series, which did actually seem promising, I’m unfortunately going to count this as a total bust for me: the signs couldn’t be clearer when I found myself simply more exasperated than enthralled just a quarter way through.

Huh. Well, that happened.

"You know what they say. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."
"They also say you don't have to be a cactus expert to know a prick when you see one."

Despite my serious love for this series (fours & fives people! from me, the stingy witch with a b), ACHE FOR YOU just felt like a straight up departure from the realm of great -- nay, fantastic -- romances that came before it. Both BURN FOR YOU and MELT FOR YOU have interesting and complex characters that feature in stories that manage to be sexy and funny and real. Book three bypassed all of that and went into straight-up ridiculous territory.

"I don't want to talk to you."
"Ah. You are a lesbian."

The hate to love felt over the top and not actually based in believable chemistry, the circumstances get increasingly dramatic as the story goes on, and neither character felt fully fleshed out. I think the best parts might have involved the few scenes with the dogs (okay, I'm sorta kidding, I liked the gay bestie, Jenner, too). But for real. I made a comment to a buddy that at least Geissinger can't be accused of using previous couples as a cookie cutter shape for each book and yet somehow this story still felt cookie cutter. Because even with, or despite?, the OTT aspects it didn't do anything new, didn't hit up my feels, it just felt.. phoned in. I don't know if the author had to rush this one out or what but if you're looking to get another MELT FOR YOU, I'd recommend just rereading.

"You've been watching too many crime shows."
"Oh right. You can't tell me. Plausible deniability. That's smart."
"There's no hitman, Danielle."
"Sure there isn't. Do you think the line is tapped?"

This doesn't quite reach one-star lows for me because not only were there were a few funny lines found amongst all the not-funny stuff but also my love for this series won't let me go there. Fingers crossed for better results with book four.

I loved the first book in this series which has no overlap whatsoever with this one.

I didn't see the chemistry between them. Kimber really liked the way he looks and couldn't stop talking about it, A LOT. He was "nasty" to her because he didn't want he to figure out he loved her cause it was too soon. The ending was good, but I think it would have been better if . Loved her BFFs.

Ache For You was so damn good! Enemies to lovers and slow burn romance done to perfection. I had so much fun with Kimber and Matteo. Their chemistry and tension was on fire. Wowza. I couldn’t get enough of them. Their bantering only got me wired more up. I looked forward to them sharing a scene together cause I just knew it would be amazing. Their first meeting only proved that what was in store for me could only be awesome and filled with great dialogue and two characters slowly but sure falling in love despite them doing everything to irritate one another. Matteo blackmailing Kimber for kisses. I reveled every minute of it. He was the perfect sexy Italian with a sensitive heart and dirty mouth. Kimber fed up with men after being left at the altar did everything in her power to resist the sexy Italian stallion but of course it was impossible.
Ache For You was so much fun and a fantastic romance. A wonderful surprise.

I can't flow with the H disrespecting, being callous and being insensitive with the h about her father's recent death, getting dumped at the alter and her treatment in her own damn house by his own motherzilla. (IF THE HERO-THE-WANNA-BE-LOVEY-DOVEY-BOY WOULD'VE BEEN AN ANTI-HERO I WOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH THE CRAP THAT CAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH BUT HE'S A NICE CHARMING ROYAL PRINCE)

His coldASS royal Mother should have washed his brain+mouth with soap instead of stealing other people's daughter's bed for her dogs 🤬

It makes me so sad to write this review because not only do I love this series but I ADORE JT. Geissinger! This was absolutely the worst book in the Slow Burn series. The only reason I was able to finish it was because I listened to it on audio and the narrators were really good (especially the guy).

Going into this, I didn’t know that it was going to be a Cinderella retelling. The first two books in the series didn’t have anything to do with fairytales, so this came out of left field. Now I have nothing against fairytale retellings. In fact, I like them! BUT if the author puts their own spin on them, then the spin better be damn good!

Reading this, I felt like I was reading the story from the POV of one of the spoiled step sisters, rather than “Cinderella” (aka Kimber). The FMC, Kimber, was beyond annoying! She was self centred, rude, and judgemental! She would jump to ridiculous assumptions that had absolutely ZERO basis in reality. In fact, as I was listening to this, I kept thinking “I don’t get it… isn’t the stepmom supposed to be evil?“ I kept waiting for the stepmom to do something horrible, but it never came. In fact, SHE wasn’t evil. It was Kimber who was a huge bitch and assumed that her stepmother was “wicked” (she referred to her stepmom as “WS” for wicked stepmom) based on the fact that the poor woman, who had lost 2 other husbands, didn’t come to the hospital when Kimber’s father was dying.

In the OG Cinderella, she was devastated when her father died because the two of them were really close. Kimber hadn’t seen her dad in 5 years! Also, the “evil” step sisters, were in fact two dogs! And the only reason Kimber hated them because her WS gave them their own rooms…. In a house that Kimber hadn’t lived in for five years!

I didn’t get the relationship between Kimber and Matteo. He must have been a masochist or something because literally the only reason he liked her was because she was rude to him. I didn’t think there was any chemistry between them. I didn’t think her jabs at him were funny. In fact, I didn’t find a whole lot of humour in this book.

These two stars are because of my love for this author and the amazing narrators.

I have been waiting for this book ever since I have read the first book in the Slow burn series, and of course, ever since i have started to read all the previously written books by JT Geissinger...

So, I've literally swallowed this book...simply cause, JT Geissinger writes the most witty, the most heart-felt, steamy hawt and absolutely smart/cynical banter/bickering of the "enemies to lovers" trope in romance genre...

I shall say no more...

it's absolutely one of my favorites this year and also one of the best books I have read and enjoyed immensely as in laugh-out-loud-and-melt-my-panties kinda way, inspite the just a little bit watered ending, I had a blast.

I thought this was a silly but fun romantic comedy that really played up the whole Cinderella theme.

So many crazy things happened to Kimber that you can't help but think she is cursed. You can't take it too seriously. Just sit back and enjoy the comedy of her life after her not so Prince Charming dumps her at the alter, and the domino effect that happens from there.

As a hero, Matteo wasn't exactly Prince Charming either. He's drawn to Kimber from the moment he lays eyes on her and yet he is stunned that she resists him. Not only does that make her much more intriguing as a woman, but it brings out a side to Matteo he didn't knew he had. He's a very intense character. I enjoyed the way he baited Kimber.

I think the whole set of side characters in this book were very entertaining. Kimber has a very funny and very inappropriate BFF who happens to be a model. Her ex played a pretty big part and I found I was entertained by him as well.

This really wasn't at all what I was expecting but I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I also like that the author surprised me with a few of these side characters.

3.5 “Moshi moshi.” stars!

Okaaaaay! So, I enjoyed this one but didn’t love it as fiercely as I loved the first two books, and that's SAD.

Anyway, full review to follow!

2.5 rounded up to 3 stars- mainly for the hero and the chemistry.

This was just a mess. I really hated the heroine in the beginning, liked her somewhat in the middle, then lost all faith in her character by the end. This was just.... *heavy sigh*... another book in the long line of 2018 "what on earth did I just read" novels this year. Everything from the characters to the plot/situational drama was just so out there. The heroine was written as if the author was a 14 year old writing what she thought an adult with a fashion career was like. Apparently the MC's are somewhat famous?! I don't understand why the author is trying to make us believe that tabloids would have pictures and headlines of the heroine, who is a complete nobody, on the cover. You know who's on the cover of every tabloid? Jennifer Anniston. This heroine was for sure not Jennifer Anniston. But I digress...

The magic is in the details, and this book had no details. Just giant plot holes that caused me to be confused all throughout the book. She was poor, but she owned a 18 million dollar mansion. The hero family is rich and has a castle but lives in the heroines fathers house.. Nothing was adding up.

And another thing, I wish authors would move away from the heroines past relationship ending because of cheating. Its sooooo lazy, you really couldn't think of any other reason?!!

And that ending.. was a trash ending. She literally falls down the stairs at a fashion show and breaks both legs * I repeat, BOTH OF HER LEGS* and then she gets high on drugs in the hospital where the hero finally hears her say the "I love you."........Great.

Safe
Hero was almost too perfect. Celibate for awhile and says the "I love you" in under a week (I think, I was confused by the timeline)
Heroines ex causes some drama but nothing too bad. No OW drama.

So cute!

This book was so sweet and cute and hard to put down!

Ok, so most of you know this author and know that she writes pretty great books. Well, this time wasn't an exception. Her writing style was amazing, it was that kind of book that's impossible to put down or to take a break from.

The story itself was pretty unique (hard to find in romance books these days) but what made it awesome was the two characters. Their chemistry was off the charts!

It's hard not to fall in love with them, they were awesome. Them and all the people around them (even the 'bad guy' who, in the end, was so sweet you really couldn't hold a grudge).

So, yes, this is a book I highly recommend to all romance readers.

3 "Loosely Cinderella" Stars!

Well, I am certainly in the minority here, but this one didn't work as well for me as the first two did. Mainly because the two main characters got on my nerves. She was overly dramatic and he was like a little boy that kept pulling on her ponytail...

There were a lot of funny moments and some very good quotes. Plus, if you decide to listen to the audiobook, the male narrator's voice is just delightful. Overall, not bad. But I really loved the first two books in this series, so I guess I had very high expectations.

Happy reading!

Edited to fix a safety detail. :)

I finished this in one sitting, so it obviously wasn’t hard to read, but I didn’t enjoy it all that much. I don't think it's fair just to state that I didn't like it without giving some spoilerly specifics, so please don't click on the spoiler tag if you want to read this book. If you like this author, and your go-to reads are safe chick lit stories, then this one is right up your alley.

Major spoilers ahead:

I do appreciate an H who didn't come across as a player. He was so beautiful and wealthy, but this book wasn’t crawling with OWs? Awesome.
