It's time for the Secondborn Seer to emerge...

After I survived the Nexis Ruby War, I thought my life would go back to normal.

Now I'm having strange dreams and visions...

Am I finally coming into my powers?

I never wanted to be the Seer like my sister, or even the Secondborn Seer. I'm just trying to convince my parents not to send me back to that awful boarding school in Switzerland.

But now we have to go to New York City to hunt for clues...

And visit the abandoned Montrose Paranormal Academy to hunt down a new villain.

Will I figure out what's happening to me before it's too late?

Find out in this fun little novella that is part epilogue to the best-selling Montrose Paranormal Academy series, and part prequel to Paige's new series coming this November.

Montrose Paranormal Academy, The Secondborn Seer is book 5.5 in the 5-book Clean Academy YA Paranormal Romance series for young adults. It’s a saga full of snarky dialogue, supernatural shenanigans, and urban fantasy adventure set in New York City. A short companion novel with 10 chapters, don't be fooled thinking it's an actual novel.
The book mainly focuses on Paige who starts to grow into her secondborn powers, the book is told from the dual perspectives of Lucy and Paige. I was annoyed by this since Lucy already was the narrator of the previous 5 books, couldn't she let her sister have a complete goal. The book mainly exists to set up Paige's series at her new boarding school she went to because she needed to be protected.
The series came out in November 2021 so will have to check it out.
Everything felt rushed in this book due to it being so short, they were better off making it longer.

Montrose Paranormal Academy, Book 5.5: The Secondborn Seer is part of a series.
Curious about what excites the teen and young adult reader, I stepped out of my gritty realist comfort zone to read this urban fantasy on a dare and surprised myself by enjoying it.
This easy to read book is in the Montrose Paranormal Academy series that mixes a young girl’s family life with her psychic powers as a seer. The fast-paced action moves you along from sibling squabbles to prophetic, out of body dreams. I’ve had a few of those myself in the real world. They were less dramatic, but cathartic enough to open up my interest in the spiritual realms.
Although I haven’t read the earlier books in this series, I enjoyed this one that allowed me to view the character's adventures from a female perspective, which even I found heartwarming from a male point of view. Even though I prefer 'true' stories where heroes are not always ‘moral’ or blameless and the 'good' do not always win, this book was like a refreshing walk in the sunshine for me to escape political realities. It couldn’t last, of course, I’m far too much of an old curmudgeon and I returned to my cave under the bridge for less wholesome adventures on the dark side. But please, you young lovers of fantasy, or explorers of the mystic realms, by all means read this and more and read far beyond your comfort zones. Maybe you will even come visit my scary book cave some day to find how fantastic 'real' life adventures can be.

Montrose Paranormal Academy (Book 5.5: The Secondborn Seer: A Young Adult Urban Fantasy Academy Nove

Montrose Paranormal Academy (Book 5.5: The Secondborn Seer: A Young Adult Urban Fantasy Academy Novel) ~ Book 5.5 is a strong companion to the main storyline. The Secondborn Seer fills in gaps, adds perspective, and gives deeper insight into events and characters that shaped the series.

This book enhances the emotional impact of what came before rather than interrupting it. It provides clarity, answers lingering questions, and adds layers to the story that make the overall series feel more complete.

If you’ve read this far, this book is absolutely worth it. It ties everything together and adds depth without overstaying its welcome.

I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it.

A must read for fans of Paranormal Montrose Academy!!!

Although the Nexis Ruby War is over, it seems that Lucy and Paige will have no rest. Paige starts having prophetic dreams, but thankfully, she doesn't have to go through the ordeal alone. With the help of the Seer and the Interpreter, as well as her family and friends, it's Paige's time to shine and develop her secondborn seer powers. A new threat arises and Paige will be in the center of it.

An amazing novella, full of action and mystery, that serves as a bridge between the first five books of the series and the spin-off Barbara Hartzler has promised us. I can't wait for the next installment!!!

This is a short companion book to the Montrose Paranormal Academy series. It picks up the story and focuses on Paige, younger sister to main character Lucy.

Despite the victory by Lucy and her Seer's Army in the previous book, a new threat now emerges. And Paige, not quite sixteen years old, is drawn into the conflict as her powers begin to manifest.

I enjoyed the fast-paced action and seeing events from a new perspective, Paige - juxtaposed with that of older sister Lucy. Readers of fantasy/academy, not just young adults, should like this latest book, which laid the foundation for more adventures to come.

I enjoyed reading this book which I received through bookfunnel and I am doing a voluntary review. After surviving the Nexis Ruby War Paige is now having strange dreams and visions and is in New York hunting for clues to hunt down a possible new villain with her family. Will they figure out what is happening before it's too late? The Secondborn Seer (Montrose Paranormal Academy 5.5) by Barbara Hartzler is another great book in the Montrose series and is leading up to Paige's story coming out in the fall. I recommend this and other books in the series. Available on Amazon

The Secondborn Seer by Barbara Hartzler is Book 5.5/6 in the Montrose Paranormal Academy series. Lucy's younger sister Paige is coming into The Secondborn Seer powers. She has a dream that won't let her go until the end. When she wakes, she is a little anxious but Lucy is there to help her. This is an excellent bridge into the new storyline. We have all our original characters and a new threat. Looking forward to the next book to see where Barbara is taking us. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.

Fifteen-year-old Paige has a dream she can not wake up from. When it goes away, Lucy and then Will come running into her room, Lucy asking what she saw. It seems Paige has come into The Secondborn Seer powers and is a little anxious about it. But sister Lucy will help. This bridge story has a little romance plus plenty of action and ends in a cliffhanger, of course. Highly recommended.

A fast paced action packed read. Its nice having a different perspective of Paige. No longer is she just the little sister but is rising into a lovely developed character. Can't wait to see how this series roars to life. I received ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

I loved everything about this story that flows so well from the previous books in this awesome series. The Secondborn seer concept drew me in and I loved the whole sister dynamic that was really relatable. I hope there's more on the way!

Paige

Paige is Lucy the Seers' younger sister. Now that the Messengers' power is gone, Paige is getting premonitions. Some of the Watchers have setup surveilance at the abandoned Montrose Academy, and try to kidnap Paige. But her premonitions help the Guardians prevent this.

The plotline kind of works, but nothing special. The little girl crush on every cute guy is over the top and kills any value in the series. I can't believe I read the series with this kind of girlie infatuation with guys throughout the books.

I loved it!

It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. Welcome to Montrose Paranormal Academy. Where Three Societies rule everything. This fun little novella that is part epilogue to the Montrose Paranormal Academy series, and part prequel to Paige's new series called the Shadow Stone Academy. It picks up the story and focuses on Paige, younger sister to main character Lucy.  Despite the victory by Lucy and her Seer's Army in the previous book, a new threat now emerges, and Paige, not quite sixteen years old, is drawn into the conflict as her powers begin to manifest. It's time for the Secondborn Seer to emerge. After she survived the Nexis Ruby War, she thought her life would go back to normal but she is now having strange dreams and visions. She never wanted to be the Seer like her sister, or even the Secondborn Seer. She’s just trying to convince her parents not to send her back to the awful boarding school in Switzerland. Now they have to go to New York City to hunt for clues and visit the abandoned Montrose Paranormal Academy to hunt down a new villain. Will she be able to figure out what’s happening to her before it’s too late? So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next Chapter of Paige’s story. I highly recommend to everyone.
