August 7, 2021I really really thought this was UF based on the cover. Here's the thing. I sat and thought to myself, what would I put on a kraken-hero cover? Probably not a kraken.
But this really is a very sex-positive romance between a witch whose family runs a sexy bathhouse (yes, that kind of bathhouse) and a kraken hero who is utterly obsessed with the heroine the moment he hears her voice. Really enjoyable!

I’ve gone from reading about milking minotaurs, to menstrual blood sharing vampires, and now to a squid monster romance. I just don’t know how far is too far these days...
The main female character in this story is a witch who runs a bathhouse. It’s a magic sex bathhouse and occasionally she likes to joins in the group activities. The main male character is a sweetheart, driven to claim his mate once he hears her voice.
While I really liked the H, the whole tentacle sex thing was...different. He’s a kraken or giant squid but he presents as a human male with functioning male sex organs. This made me wonder, what is real? If his human man parts are an illusion how is it working like the real thing? Then he lowers the illusion to have his kraken tentacles? Does he have a squid beak? Is his entire real body a squid? I have so many questions.
If you enjoy light, fluffy, monster kink, the will be your jam.

Officially on the monster erotica bandwagon, Stalked By The Kraken was kind of what I'd been looking for. Although I didn't love it and found myself skimming in parts, the writing was solid and the sex smoking; I guess it was the storyline that didn't win me over.
Treasure hunter Gideon feels like he's lived an eternity, well technically he has since he's a Kraken (an ancient sea monster). Whilst working on a job he senses something that he's never felt before...his mate.

Stalked by the Kraken is one of my favorite monster romances, featuring a slight mystery plot with an added bonus of a totally obsessed MC, magic, spice, and a lovable FMC. The story follows Rose, a witch who manages her family's bathhouse. When she notices they are not outputting enough magic; she hires someone to figure out where the magic has disappeared to. The investigator, Gideon, offers his services to her in order to get closer to Rose as she is his mate.
Rose and Gideon are so sweet and lovable, I loved how the two came together and grew to love each other. Gideon was so obsessed and willing to do anything to make Rose his; despite his obsession, I loved how he was always sure to get her consent and make sure she was comfortable in their relationship. This is definitely a romance focused plot but I loved it nonetheless and recommend it to any monster lover out there!

I will definitely check out the future volumes in the series bc I did really enjoy the writing and the world, but this specific installment just wasn't quite right for me. Onto the next!!

this is one of the best monster erotica books i’ve read and DEFINITELY the best tentacle one! i just wish it was longer!! really glad the main female character had a personality outside of her love interest

i'm gonna be honest with you, chief. i knew going into this that it wouldn't be my vibe because for the love of god it's hard for me to enjoy tentacle scenes, but i wanted to give it a shot in order to read more in this series.
and i gotta say.... pleasantly surprised! it helped that mr. kraken had a human form. this pairing was fun and passionate, and i will give lillian credit where credit is due for her characters' steamy dialogue. however, the main action is this book just felt so random and disconnected from the relationship bits, and i'm not a fan of thrillers or crime solving, so it lost my interest any time it jumped to that whole storyline.
i'd been wanting to read from this author for a while now after constantly getting recommended her books and seeing her on tiktok, and i'll definitely be picking up more from her! i love worlds where humans and creatures/witches co-exist, so i'm sure i'll devour the rest of this series.

Magical tentacle action is definitely a way to get out of a book slump!!
Oh, I loved this. Gideon was so intense and scrumptious. All that raw power forced into a human sized package. And yet he was still so caring and thoughtful. I loved how Gideon's other nature saw Rose as his treasure and he wanted to horde her.
This was sexy, steamy and sweet. Yet romantic too. Gideon and Rose's chemistry was passionate and sizzling. There were things done that I've never read before. Smokin' hot!! Turn your AC down a few degrees hot!

Expectativas: Ser medio kraken+sex tentacle o híbrido+ acoso sexual+violaciones+cosas chungas.
Realidad: Shifter Kraken (Humano que se puede transformar en kraken o viceversa) + personaje masculino bastante carismático-atrayente+ historia de amor-erótica+ “slow burn”( más o menos).
“It’s the care Gideon gives me. How conscientious he is about my well being, the way he can bring a smile to my face with words”.
Vine a esta novela por tres motivos: el primero, porque me piqué. No lo niego. En una novela que leí hace poco un personaje se burlaba de la protagonista por leer “erótica extravagante”, sobre todo porque había leído novelas y le encantaban con kraken shifters. Eso deriva al segundo motivo: la curiosidad. Y, por último, pero no por ello menos importante, una compañera de estas redes que me recomendó el primer libro mencionado me recomendó este segundo, comentándome que me iba a gustar mucho y no era lo que parecía. Además del hecho que el protagonista masculino era de lo mejorcito. Sinceramente yo ante esto, obviamente me lo iba a leer. (Tampoco cuesta mucho convencerme la verdad).

Empecé a leerlo…y me enganché. Aunque, sí que hay que admitir que al principio hay escenas un pelín tóxicas pero el propio personaje lo admite (menos mal) y se hace alusión a la novela en todo momento esos tipos de comportamientos e intenta remediarlos.

No deja de ser una novela ligera spicy y yo me lo he pasado en grande, hasta el punto que le pongo cuatro estrellas de las tres que quería ponerle en un principio. Gideon, así se llama nuestro protagonista, me ha gustado demasiado y he sentido envidia de la protagonista (no por su “naturaleza”) sino por su carisma y amor que siente por la prota.
“Anything, my Rose, will be more than worth it to be yours”.
Ahora, sí que lo recomiendo. Absolutamente. Si no te gusta, otro libro será. Eso sí, el siguiente libro es mucho más peculiar, y yo no sé si quiero leerlo o el resto de la saga porque la cosa se pone más “extravagante” aún y yo no sé si estoy preparada para ello aún.

But, what happens when a mysterious paranormal named Gideon makes an appearance in her life after she is struggling with a past heartbreak?
Gideon is a Kraken. With tentacles and all 🦑 He spots Rose in a coffee shops and knows at first sight that she is meant to be his mate and he will do anything he needs to to claim her for himself.
I loved this book. My only critique is that I wish the main conflict was more drawn out instead of so fast-paced.
Highly recommend! I’ll definitely be adding the authors other works to my TBR!

I'll be honest. I went into this for the monster erotica. Niki's review intrigued me and I was pleasantly surprised that while it packed some spicyyyyy tentacle moments, it also had a developed relationship that went beyond just the physical.
Rose and her family own a bathhouse that caters to all manner of sexual deviancy in a safe and welcoming place. Rose is a witch with a matchmaking ability and paranormals come to her for their near perfect or perfect matches to be found.
But Rose has a problem. She has some serious reservations about her ability to match when her own match for herself goes terribly wrong. With a personal crisis on her hands and the bathhouse starting to have magic problems she doesn't know what to do. In steps the sexy and mysterious Gideon. He is raw power in a strong and formidable package and he wants HER.
Gideon is a very old sea creature...a kraken. He has lived for a very long time and doesn't realize he hasn't really been living until he senses his mate. From that moment on, Gideon sets a plan in motion to woo and win his mate so that he can keep her forever. Things may not be as easy as they seem but Gideon is willing to fight.
The plot was a little boring but since I was mainly here for the couple it didn't bother me all that much. I will say Rose's constant doubt about herself and Gideon got annoying. I loved that Gideon was caring and sensitive but also dangerous and dominant. The steam in here was off the charts hot. Overall, if you're looking to dip your toes into something out of your norm and read some monster erotica I definitely suggest this.

i do not know if i will ever recover from the mating tentacle concept, but what an adventure this was. i am (for the first time ever) asking where is my ancient sea monster who stalks me out of love and buys me coffee and gifts me fancy stationary and loves me unconditionally and who also is singlehandedly responsible for epic shipwrecks of the actual ship variety and not the relationship variety for once.

Monster romances kind of make me go 😳, so this explicit monster romance with tentacles made me constantly triple check that the audiobook was playing through my headphones and not my phone speaker… but wow. This was utter perfection.
We have Rose who runs a magical bathhouse and is getting over self-esteem issues after a horrible ex, Gideon who is utterly obsessed with Rose at first sight and his careful courting of her just made me squee with delight, and lots of sex positivity. Seriously could not ask for anything more.

I really enjoyed the Kraken aspect of this and the shifter smut, the tentacles were v interesting and hot and i loved it. But i didn’t enjoy the heroines dramatics, that’s all! She had valid insecurities and reacted in conjunction with them but i was just over her shit at one point :’)

The world needs more Kraken romances. There’s something… Dare I say… sensual… about tentacles. Also the opportunities for Discovery Channel/octopus jokes are so great.
I liked this book more than Three of Hearts. I think the premise of this one was simpler and the emotional relationship developed in a realistic and interesting way.
Gideon sees Rose and immediately knows she’s his mate. He stalks and hunts her, proposing a sexual liaison when he realizes she’d be unreceptive to a relationship as she was recently burned.
I love fated mates tropes so it’s no surprise that was my favorite aspect of this book. A fated mate where the guy is 100% in and has to convince the heroine?! Even better.
The main plot line took a bit of a back burner but that didn’t bother me at all and I still felt there was emotional plot and a fil plot with payoff.

A must read
No because this book had no business being this good! Lillian did a phenomenal job of creating interesting characters and a love story I couldn’t get enough of. Gideon is so perfect. I love our stalking kraken so much 😭 don’t be put off by this having tentacles okay? Because it’s so, so good. The spice is *chefs kiss*. I promise you will read this and never look back.

After reading this book my love for tentacles has increased tenfold! Lillian Lark had me falling hard and fast for Gideon!!
But Rose took some warming up too. One of my favorite aspects of this story was that she ran a bathhouse because hello sex positivity! And it wasn't on the man, or in this case monster, which is fine, but it was nice seeing it from the FMC perspective.
There's a fine line where "I'll have her at any cost" can become crossed or slightly blurred but I found that the author did a really good job at making sure Rose was up for whatever Gideon had in store. Remember, consent is sexy. I just felt like that really needed to be touched on because I've seen more often than not where someone will avoid those types of stories because that line can be crossed and not in a good way.
The relationship between Rose and Gideon I was entirely here for! It was such a good buildup from their first meeting that the small bits that would usually bother me didn't seem to stand out to me as much. I might be a touch biased because tentacles, but I found that Gideon was the star of the show for me. The added aspect of the "case" he was working made this a bit more than a romance even if that was the heart of the story.

THIS WAS EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED!!!
At this point, I’m convinced that Katee Robert and I have same taste in monster romance and kinks so when she said tentancle smut and recommended this, I knew I had to read it immediately! And OH. MY. GOD. This was the book of my dreams! I loved every second of reading this! I was both captivated by this world Lark created and mind blown by how she knew exactly how I like the tentacle smut to be explored. I never knew I would want a kraken boyfriend but here I am!
The writing is engaging and beautifully descriptive! I was hooked with the world it’s set in, magic system, paranormal aspect and characters!! The concept of the Love Bathhouse and the sex postive, safe space it offers was so interesting and I’m intrigued with everything that goes on inside it!
Rose is a fun female lead! I love her work as a matchmaker and part-owner of the bathhouse. Despite the insecurities brought upon her past experiences, I loved that it didn’t fully affect her being confident and strong. Gideon is such a gentleman and I loved him for it! Don’t let the title fool you but he does “stalk” but in such a gentle, non-alphahole way. He respects women and boundaries but comes through when asked to let his inner monster out. His kraken side is a part of him that definitely heightened his attractiveness!
Their romance was instant but genuine. The balance between sweet and steamy in their relationship was just perfect and it had me swooning so hard. The smut was EVERYTHING. Even without the monster side involved, things were always panty incinerating! But top that with the tentacle smut and I might have actually combusted. It was so well-written and it was obvious that it came from someone with genuine love for this kind of kink. It also had a breeding kink and a bit of CNC involved which I loved! (If you were part of the monster fucker fandom around the time the Venom/Eddie fan ship was alive and kicking, then you’d love this for sure!!)
Another amazing thing about this book is despite the romance being the forefront of the story, the underlying plot and side characters were just as investing! I’m super interested in more of Jared and Katherine but mostly Lowell and his ward master!
Overall, this was quick, swoony and steamy in the best ways with a super interesting world of magic and unforgettable characters! Perfect for lovers of PNR/monster erotica!

It was sweet, sensual, very very hot, and just lovely.
I loved the kink (it's not really my kind of kink but wonderfully delivered). The hero was a sexy sweetheart, the heroine likeable and strong.

four stars! ⋆ ˚｡⋆୨୧˚ oof i was not expecting to love this at all but god i thoroughly enjoyed this 🤧 i’m not even gonna lie, gideon is one of the hottest love interests/male characters i’ve read in a long time, even if he is a kraken. who knew i may or may not have a thing for tentacles? anyways, definitely a perfect october read. i usually hate the insta like/lust/love, but i think in a fantasy setting with it relating to soulmates/soul bonds/mates it works extremely well. the smut in this was god tier, too, which is always so nice. i’m really excited to pick up the rest of the series!
